  1. Guess I didn't here the rumors about the Cedar Point version (I haven't been keeping up with the latest coaster news, it being the off season and all). It's not a rumor, the park already announced it.
  2. ^Except for the fact that it was custom built for the hillside at AA.
  3. It's still gonna upset a lot of folks who, just when they get near the entrance to a ride station after a longer, slower moving line have to see yet another group of people being escorted by ops through the fast lane entrance infront of them. Yeah but if those people had been in the line the whole time, the wait would have been the same, anyway.
  4. Great report, but it was lacking in pictures of the almighty Angus McNasty!
  5. People thought this would happen at Kings Island last year, and as far as I understand, it didn't. And the way they do it (with the Fast Lane dropping you off in the station, not directly onto the ride), that makes it impossible for people to truly abuse the system.
  6. Judging by the number of coasters you've ridden, is it safe to assume that you've been to Great America? If so, were you not able to ride Iron Wolf? If you have, do people really count a relocated ride as another "credit"? I really don't mean to start another "How do you count the coasters you've ridden" discussion. I'd just be surprised to see that people actually count the same ride as two, if it's been relocated. I've actually never known anyone to do that. I actually haven't been to SFGAm. I've been to many, many places, but not that one yet. And for the record, I count repeat credits twice, because I think it's rather noteworthy to have ridden a permanent coaster in more than one location. If it's something like a traveling coaster that was meant to be portable and travels with fairs, I don't think that should count as separate credits. However, if it was something permanent (like Iron Wolf, Chang, etc.) that was operating in one park for several years and then was disassembled and moved to another permanent location, I think it's a feat to have ridden it both places. Just my two cents.
  7. ^You're not exactly Mr. Current Affairs, are you?
  8. I'm guessing the Fast Passes will get you to the station immediately and you have to wait from there, which I actually think is the right way to go about it.
  9. Hopefully they have all the Tyler Perry movies they can get their hands on. Yeah, because nothing was ever done to the rides side to warrant excitement. And there's no shade over there. Of course people are going to go to the waterpark when it's 95 degrees out, but there are TONS of parks in the south that do just fine with amusements. And regardless, his "stats" are based on 2007 and 2008, not recent times. Will flying pigs be a part of this hotel?
  10. ^It's a running commentary on how pathetic the human race can be, I'm actually fascinated by that group.
  11. CP's facebook page is blowing up with people complaining about the new Fast Pass system. What they don't realize is that 1. it's not required for them to buy and 2. it's a GOOD thing.
  12. BGT: Cheetah Hunt: The ride is honestly great in the front and back, with different sensations in each place. The front provides pretty good airtime in a number of places, and is probably the best place to ride overall, but the back still has good airtime, as well. Kumba: Front row is awesome, but the back right seat is life changing. Seriously, that's the only seat you need to ride in (kinda like Apollo's Chariot). Montu: Front row is undoubtedly the best place to ride, and it's not even close. The back is decent going through the batwing, but this is one where it's worth the wait for the front row. Sheikra: Front and back are both terrific ride experiences. Front row gets you the view on the drops, back row gets you ridiculous airtime on both drops. Gwazi: Pick a seat, any seat. But take some Tylenol beforehand. And hang on. Best place to get food is the Smokehouse by Sheikra. You won't be disappointed. I highly, highly recommend the all-day dining pass. It's one of the best deals I've seen at a park (except for the $15 Q-Bot at Dollywood). You literally get unlimited food and drink for the entire day for $30. Be sure to check out all the animal exhibits, especially the kangaroos at feeding time. If you're only going to do one park in Orlando and your choices are IOA or SWO, I would definitely pick IOA. Better rides, bigger park, and a broader range of things to do. While Manta and Kraken are both excellent coasters, you better REALLY enjoy live shows, because that's about all you have left at SWO. IOA has several top notch rides (Hulk, Dragons, Spiderman, Forbidden Journey, Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park, Bluto's Barges, etc.) However, the crowds are going to be a LOT worse at IOA. They show up early in big, big numbers at IOA, and they don't leave till the gates close. Harry Potter pretty much guarantees big crowds almost year round.
  13. ^I definitely trust you when you say that, but apparently some ops didn't get the memo. When I was there a couple weeks ago, we saw someone get denied trying to film with a chest-mounted Go Pro. However, I can't remember which ride it was, but I want to say it was either Cheetah Hunt or Montu.
  14. They won't let you take them on the coasters. When it comes to corporate parks, the answer is always no (unless it's Disney).
  15. Oh! And I just want to thank the members of TPR's stalker page on facebook for giving my trip report a couple more hits. Thanks, losers!
  16. What Universal needs more than Q-Bots is an educational video at the front gate for people to learn how to use the single rider lines. If you have a group of 8 people, DO NOT USE THE SINGLE RIDER LINE. In fact, they should restrict the single rider line to groups of 2 or fewer. Because it's REALLY obnoxious when I get in the single rider line and come up behind a monstrous group of people all wearing matching t-shirts thinking they're getting a shorter wait because they're in the "short" line, when in reality they are causing the line to bog down and making the wait twice as long as the regular line.
  17. ^Agreed on Thunderhead. The front row rides we had were unbelievable. There were a few times on there where my entire body lifted off the seat. But it also helped that the lapbars were as loose as I've ever seen on a GCI.
  18. Well it looks like I'll be stopping by on May 25 to ride this on my way to Hershey. Wish I could say I was excited about visiting the park, but it's really just a credit run with a ride or two on Superman thrown in.
  19. Do "complex" Tennesseans exist? Are they the ones with two tooth?
  20. ^That was pretty much the issue we ran into. Apparently some of the "simple" Tennesseans on the track thought they were really racing in a Nascar race out there.
  21. ^Yeah, it's all general admission now. We just took a few laps on the go-karts with obnoxious rednecks to make up for the price.
