  1. Basically it's your standard Vekoma element. Looks REALLY cool standing on the ground, but riding through it feels like getting punched by hoards of MMA fighters wearing steel gloves.
  2. Unless I am completely, awfully, horribly mistaken, there are no l0ck3rs in the rides portion of the park other than the ones at Nighthawk and the front gate. Everything else has loose article bins. Edit: What Pufferfish said just a few moments before I did. Edit 2: I may or may not have unknowingly ridden Flying Ace Aerial Chase while being 77" tall when the max height is 76". Whoops.
  3. Jet Rescue at Sea World has two Hydraulic launches, with the second one being a rolling launch. Granted, this is all achieved with tyres rather than a cable, but down below it still uses exactly the same system of accumulators etc as other Accelerators, the only difference is the hydraulic fluid is fed into lots of smaller turbines (one for each wheel) rather than one big one. Yeah the hydraulic launches I was referring to are the Intamin ones with the catch car and cable. It wouldn't even begin to approach being remotely practical for a ride to have two of those.
  4. Yes, I sent it in on April 2, technically a day late. Oops! Can a woodchuck chuck anything but wood?
  5. There's going to be a troll throwing boulders at people under there.
  6. Let's just rename a few of Emmerich's greatest feats of cinema. Independence Day - "$hit Blowing Up" Godzilla - "$hit Getting Squashed" The Patriot - "Overbloated, Cheesy $hit" The Day After Tomorrow - "$hit Freezing" 10,000 BC - "$hit That I Didn't Bother Seeing"
  7. The movie 2012 should have just been called "$hit Falling."
  8. ^There's no way on this planet or the next that there would ever be two hydraulic launches on the same coaster. If it's going to incorporate multiple launches, it's going to be done with LSMs. Also, can I just say the Aquatrax theory is the most overused theory in the history of coaster rumors? I wouldn't have been surprised if someone would have speculated that SFMM's Dance Coaster was going to be an Aquatrax AFTER it was announced.
  9. ^I think in your case they should be able to make an exception. Head to Guest Relations first thing an explain the situation, I'm sure they'll be able to offer a suitable option to accommodate your needs!
  10. So can someone screenshot the satellite image of the park and paint in where this ride is going to be? I know where the Rhino Rally canyons are, but I'm having a hard time conceptualizing in my head which direction the rest of that layout is heading.
  11. ^^I do believe they've already said that Rhino Rally is changing next year and won't involve the water anymore. Unless I'm mistaken, they have had a TON of maintenance problems with the water finale and just want to "re-profile" the ride. And since they'll have that canyon already built, it only makes sense to use it for this potential coaster. ^If I had to speculate about the twists and turns out of the station, my guess is it would just be some kind of "pre-launch" themed part of the ride, maybe inside of a tunnel or trench?
  12. ^There wasn't really anything that I saw as "not kid friendly" at the Boo Blasters at KD. If it's the same as the one at Carowinds, you should be ok to bring KT on there.
  13. ^400+ is "Strata." "Terra" refers to the ground, as in a coaster that hugs the ground. I think we could almost call I305 a terracoaster, but I'm pretty sure Maverick is the only one that's been officially deemed one.
  14. I remember getting a couple tiny splashes in the back both in the wing dip element and the part when you fly by the cliff right after that.
  15. Well, I guess Walkabout Way could be the new themed area for Kangaloom, the new coaster and The Kookaburra's Nest could be some sort of smaller family attraction to go with Kangaloom (think the Thanksgiving area with Voyage and what came with that).
  16. Back row is certainly the way to go with Manta. It's not even funny how much better the back row is compared to the front.
  17. Not too bad considering they both played about 10 more games than Ovechkin. It's all good, he'll be hoisting the trophy that truly matters in two months.
  18. Yes, I actually was just grilled about it last night by friends of friends. They wanted to know what kind of whack job would drive around the country riding coasters. I said it beats the hell out of living a dull, boring, uninteresting life cooped up in my apartment. Are you happy Phil Mickelson won the Masters (or does the happiness just come from the fact that Tiger didn't win)?
  19. So what's the deal with X Coaster having been closed since the beginning of last season? I did a semi-extensive search both on the web and on here and didn't really find anything. All I really found was tons of articles about the riders who got stuck upside down on it a few years ago. Was it just a maintenance nightmare and they don't feel like dealing with it anymore?
  20. Yeah, as I said, I probably got it mixed up with Disney's system. I really don't remember fully if they were handing tickets out or if they were being printed on a machine. I do know the queue railing from the fast pass lines are all still at the rides they used them for (MF, TTD, Magnum, Raptor come immediately to mind), they just obviously aren't being used for anything anymore. However, if they chose to reinstate some kind of system (Q-Bots would be amazing), they would already have a bit of a head start on the process.
  21. ^When I went in 2000 they had a similar system to what Disney had at the time. You would scan your single day ticket at a kiosk in front of the ride, and it would print you a paper ticket to tell you when you could ride. They would obviously only let people in with the correct time on their tickets (I do believe the tickets were either 20 or 30 minute increments), and you could only have one ticket at a time to prevent hoarding. The first time I ever rode MF was with a 20 minute wait thanks to the system they had in place that year. Also keep in mind, I could totally be confusing CP's system with Disney's, as my memory is a bit fuzzy from 10 years ago. Please, someone who remembers, help me out!
  22. ^They had a flash pass system about 10 years ago, but did away with it for what I believe were logistical reasons. I guess it wasn't working as well as they thought it would.
  23. ^You, sir, are a better man than me. Blazin' had me begging for mercy the one and only time I tried it. I can go up to Wild with no problem, but Blazin' turns me into a sissy girl.
  24. I think the loss of BBW has been more of a sentimental loss rather than the loss of a really high class coaster. To me, it's like having to put down the family dog.
  25. Yes, my taxes were done in January! Do you know the meaning of life?
