So according to this article from the Sandusky Register, the boats were too long and needed to be retrofitted to fit the ride better. Link to article -

^Nope. It's Intamin. A tornado could have blown through and knocked down the ride and it would have somehow been Intamin's fault. -

I think we should just blame the evil Intamin cable. -
Roughest coaster
Skycoastin Steve replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gotta go with Rattler, closely followed by Texas Giant. I've rarely ever wanted to jump off a coaster mid ride, but I think doing that would have been a more desirable option than finishing either coaster. -
El Toro's drop in the back seat literally scared me. I had actual fear running through my body, which hadn't happened on a coaster since I was about 10 (my first ride was last year at age 24). El Toro is #1-10 on the best first drop list, and then I gotta say (shockingly) that Rampage's first drop in the back row (or any row really) is spectacular. You get some insane ejector air on that thing in the back row, and anywhere else is just flat out rip your face off intense.

In the two years I worked there, I never saw a weekday crowd in May that I would describe as anything more than moderate. Even weekends aren't that bad in May. Sure, there might be a few long-ish lines, but nothing is going to be over an hour on a weekday in May, unless something really weird happens. I went in on a Sunday in May 2008 (off day) and was able to ride 39 separate rides, that's how dead it was. And I probably could have ridden another 4 or 5 if they were open (Maxair was still down, Sky Ride was down for wind, TTD and DD went down for rain, Wildcat was down because of the lift hill incident that year). Granted, the wet-ish weather drove some of the crowd away, but even before it rained it wasn't crowded at all. -

They haven't completely finished the rehab yet. So far, the transfer tracks, final stretch in the "tunnel" into the brakes, the last hill heading into the turn around, and the entire turn around have been finished. It's VERY obvious while you're riding where GCI has done their work and where they still haven't gotten to yet. However, the track that has been worked on is very smooth, so expect Thunder Road to be a much, much better experience once the process is done in a few years. -
What Would You Improve About rcdb.com?

I would love it if they had an additional category for the record holders for complete circuit and shuttle coasters. Just because it's silly that freefall coasters like S:TE and shuttle coasters like Wicked Twister are considered as record holders in their respective categories. -

^Yeah the best rides I've had yet were yesterday. It was hot, humid, and the trims were almost completely off, with a small grab on the first and basically no grab on the 2nd. -
I rode X2 first thing during ERT at WCB and thought it was amazing. I believe I sat front row, left side, outside seat the first ride and then somewhere towards the back the second ride. Neither of those rides was rough at all, to the point where it actually shocked me how not rough it was. Then came the night time ERT. I don't remember exactly which row we sat in, although I'm pretty sure it was towards the front (or maybe even was the front). I rode on the inside this time around, and it didn't matter. That thing beat the ever living crap out of me. However, the memory of the morning rides stuck with me a little more, since I had two excellent rides against one bad one. It's sitting pretty at #4 on my steel list.

^Every time I've ridden, I've heard nothing but very positive reactions from the GP all around me. Now, you can sorta take that with a grain of salt since the GP also LOVES boomerangs, but if you want a broad opinion about the coaster, there it is. -
I never considered that one. Me being the giant that I am, it might be a little nerve wracking. But will that stop me? Hell no! On a completely separate note, there are two TPR members who are unusually tall, named Steve, and have a deep love for all things Gators. Where's the Twilight Zone music when you need it? For a little comic relief, here's a picture of me at the KD Boo Blasters queue and the random Gators sign they had there.
