Back row on Dominator is some of the worst rattling I've had on a B&M, but I still like it enough to ride it a few times every time I visit. I really think my threshold for roughness on a wooden coaster differs greatly from many people on this site, as I think Grizzly isn't that bad at all. Then again, I'm a pro at defensive riding and I avoid wheel seats like the plague, so I'm not experiencing the worst that roughness has to offer on many of these rides.

I guess it should be noted that both Intimidators have had several walk-on days since they opened. -
People who ask open ended questions in the yes or no game. Are you sad about the Yanks' World Cup run ending?

I've been told by someone who works there that there's a very good chance it won't be open Saturday. As of the ride night at about 11 pm, Shoot the Rapids is still ready to go today . Also I was watching it test at full capacity (STR was testing most of the day) with no problems I could see. Well that's good news then! Hopefully the monkey is off their back on this one. -

^I obviously don't know the specifics behind the contract between CP and Intamin for this ride, but I do know for a fact that there are almost always clauses protecting the buyer from delays like this. I've got to imagine that CP hasn't had to foot the bill for the replacement boats and/or the modifications they had to make on the first set of boats, and that Intamin could also be paying them back out of pocket each day this thing doesn't open. Like I said, I don't know the actual language of the deal, but that's a pretty educated speculation. -

^Nope. Definitely means they're getting a B&M. Because they have water dummies pre-ordered for a coaster that's going to be built next year and are using those pre-ordered water dummies to test on their new flume made by a different manufacturer. And Bolliger spoke at Coastermania. And Bacon and Mayo are the best ingredients of a BLT sandwich. Not to mention BMWs are great cars. All of this points to a B&M next year at Cedar Point! Book it! -

If I didn't have to worry about work, I could probably do it. I'm thinking I'll end up around 200 laps though, with a DNF by the time we hit October. -

Best moments of airtime I can think of (in no particular order): Back row of the double down on Jack Rabbit. The 2nd hill on the final run of bunny hills in the ejector seat of Magnum. The Rolling Thunder hill on El Toro, doesn't matter where you sit. Pick your moment on Voyage, but the hill just after the triple down after you leave the tunnel is insane! Maverick's first airtime hill. Back row of Apollo on the first drop and the final ravine drop. Back row on MF's first drop. Back row on 305's first drop. Back row on Rampage's first drop.

My last coaster was my 85th lap on this bad boy. -
^My point is, there shouldn't be any reason short of saving someone's life that you would even consider jumping in front of a moving roller coaster. In five years of working in the industry, you know how many close calls I've had? None. Zero. Zip. Nada. You know why? Because I understand that physics always wins, and when people do something incredibly idiotic like putting their body in front of a multi-ton moving vehicle, they're asking for it. I feel no sympathy whatsoever. And considering he's a carnie, it's not a shock that it happened, either.

^Unless there was a child on the track and he was trying to save it, I can't think of one single, solitary reason to jump onto the track while the ride was moving. Even if it was something that could have damaged the ride and he was attempting to prevent it, it's not worth losing a leg over. My guess is something fell on the track and he thought he could grab it before the train got back. In that case, he's lucky he's still alive.

I think that had a lot to do with the 4th being on a Saturday. When the 4th is a weekday, crowds are relatively light at most all parks around the country.
