  1. Every Six Flags park has an employee shortage issue. It's their business model. Get by with the least amount of humans necessary. I've seen coasters with a 2-man crew recently. Disgusting.
  2. ^ Judging by the photos it seems just minor modifications to existing designs. Why don't we have more Planes On A Stick?!
  3. This. I love RMC, they're amazing. That being said the Beast is iconic and the fact that it's old school and a little rough is what makes it so great. The ride is a lot of fun during the day for sure but I agree that's it's not amazing. At night though it becomes the best coaster (wood or steel) I've ever ridden. I305, Millennium Force, Maverick, Skyrush, Fury, Boulder Dash and even El Toro can't touch the Beast at night. It's old school, it has imperfections but that's what makes it so great. The Beast feels like it's alive and there's nothing else like it anywhere. The Beast is in a league of its own. I loved that ride when I rode it during the day. My night ride, though, was magical. As we crested the lift hill, the nighttime fireworks show began. I'm no exaggerating, but as we crested the first big firework erupted. The rest of the ride was just a rampage through pitch black wilderness illuminated every few seconds by another firework exploding color into the sky and our surroundings. It was completely unplanned and entirely perfect.
  4. ^ Prettttttttttttttttttttttty sure it's just fresh track. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  5. Ctrl-V to every Six Flags thread. It never ceases to amaze me how horrible Six Flags is with their Halloween events year after year. All they need to do is look to Cedar Fair for a fair (heh) comparison.
  6. ^ Sure sounds like something for the SeaWorld San Diego thread...
  7. Such a shame. I've never been to PPP but when I have been to Knoebel's the Flyers are completely insane! If they get dumbed down you can always rest easy knowing that the flyers at Lagoon are still run with balls.
  8. Awesome photos, though I wish you had the chance to get more with the show lighting in the haunts. I miss Orlando's HHN. Hollywood's just feels so mediocre in comparison.
  9. ^ You shut your dirty mouth. The Beast should never be anything other than The Beast. Retracking is cool for maintenance but a complete remodel would be a huge disservice to the industry. The ride is too iconic to get thrown away.
  10. Canyon Blaster. Was gonna end my night at Fright Dome on El Loco but it decided to die as I was next in line.
  11. Damn right! 'Murica! ...I'm moving to Japan. You're all welcome to join.
  12. I know I'm probably WELL ahead of any schedule here, but has there been any progress on TM? Other than dirt, I mean. Knowing Six Flags they'll start vertical construction in May, but a man can dream. They have a website and youtube channel that appear to be quite active. Like updated 4 hours ago active.
  13. Honestly I'd be perfectly happy if they just re-did the second half of the ride. Not because it got rough or anything, but because everything after the MCBR is a snooze-fest. Hulk has one of the greatest first halves I've ever ridden. It's awesome. After the MCBR, though, ugh.
  14. ^ I'm fairly certain they killed the TC single rider line. Really the only ones of use would be Lex and Riddler. Green Lantern you'd be better off waiting in the normal line.
  15. ^ Vekoma is the business liaison for RMC in Europe. RMC is building it, Vekoma is handling the paperwork.
  16. ^ ♫ Choppity chop and your head falls off. ♫ Oh, wait, this isn't Raptor...
  17. And the blood and body parts, what with people jumping the fence and all. Too soon?
  18. Hence why I still believe Great Adventure is pretty horrible while others feel it's one of the top three in the chain. I grew up 10 miles from the place and had a season pass pretty much every year from when I could walk to my second year of college. Sometime during high school it stopped being something cool and awesome to being something to do to waste time.
  19. Totally agree. Hell, living in Vegas I'm still tempted to get an annual pass. Why? Because if I did I'd be making the trip at least once a month for an overnight at Disney. For 2015 we had annual passes for Magic Mountain and Knott's. The Magic Mountain pass certainly got its money's worth with our trip to Fiesta Texas and Over Texas, as well as my trip to Discovery Kingdom, as well as the two or three times we visited Magic Mountain. Knott's also got its money's worth and we'll still be heading there approximately 3 more times before the year is out. If I lived in SoCal or in Orlando, you can bet your butt I'd buy an annual pass to Disney and Universal every year and use it tons of times! Hey, I finished work for the day. I'll go ride Space Mountain! I'm bored, guess I'll take a spin on Spiderman. It'd certainly keep my butt off of the couch!
  20. Guys, guys, maybe mordecai just really likes Kentucky Fried Chicken and a 5-day trip to one mid-size park is all the cover story he needs.
  21. In all fairness (even though he doesn't deserve it), living in SoCal is so expensive that even shopping at Walmart is a scary idea for a budget.
