  1. ^ After watching POVs of both, they're not exact but they're pretty darn close. Seems the only differences are the channel before the final drop on Grizzly wraps around to the right while Shanghai wraps to the left. Also Grizzly's straight rapid sections have been replaced to be more zig-zaggy in Shanghai, if that makes sense. Grizzly tends to be big turn, long straight, big turn, long straight, drop, etc. Shanghai keeps jogging left and right the entire time. Edit - The finale is hilariously exact, though. Final drop then long left turn around smoking geysers.
  2. ^ Too many little brats screaming at that "waterpark" they have. The Super 8 is 15 minutes walking to the gate, comes in from the other side allowing a Starbucks stop, and is quieter.
  3. Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! Is this one going to be $350 a night in the off season, too?! Can't wait to say screw that and go to the $60 Super 8 instead!
  4. Yeah, it looks like they put a dragon statue in DCA's Grizzly River Run. It sure looks like an exact copy of Grizzly River Run, just with different rocks and a broken animatronic.
  5. Did you just ride an SLC and hit your head too hard? Burn ward, level 3.
  6. That's a shame. Looks like that employee needs to get re-certified. Fjord Rafting is one of the best rapids ride I've ever been on but it also has a long indoor section which is probably where the problem was.
  7. That video would explode YouTube.
  8. While it doesn't have the box office success of other Universal franchises represented in the parks, King Kong is something that's ingrained in western culture. You'd be extremely hard pressed to meet someone who doesn't know who or what King Kong is. That's what they're banking on.
  9. ^ You do make good points, but let's be honest. Their spinners are baby town frolics compared to Mack's version. It's a shame more rides like Shock at Rainbow Magicland didn't get picked up. That ride is a TON of fun and muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than Rip Ride Rockit.
  10. ^ Some people are only happen when it rains, man.
  11. That's because it takes 10 minutes to send 5 cars out. It's awful for load times.
  12. That POV is awful on a Coasterforce level. Shakier than Muhammad Ali (too soon? OK, Michael J Fox), horrible color mixing, atrocious audio, can't see most of what's going on because of the crap field of view, oh and he deliberately broke park policy to get the video.
  13. ^ I mean Outlaw Run is top of the tops no matter what other rides you've been on.
  14. First the damn boat, then the great hashtag wars, now the friggin Xcelerator extension madness. This place is nutty.
  15. Memorizing this part for my Sept. visit. Actually, and I only remember those from 1997, are there any other rides with FP... and the same advice goes? Get the FP first, then ride it if the wait isn't long? (I suspect Peter Pan will be like this IF I want a second ride.) Honestly I think it's smarter for Hyperspace to do Standby first and then grab a Fastpass after your first ride. When I was last there the Fastpass queue (just to get a Fastpass) was all the way out past the Captain EO theatre and standby was listed at 60 minutes at the park opening but really was a walk straight into the station. Including the forever-long queue the total wait was 5 minutes. By the time we rode and looped back around the Fastpass queue had disappeared and they were giving out Fastpasses for noon-ish, IIRC. Long story short, standby first thing in the morning, then grab a Fastpass immediately after. Also, Peter Pan in California doesn't have a Fastpass option. But it's also the weakest ride in Fantasyland, IMO. Go ride Mr. Toad a thousand times.
  16. ^ Do you prefer incredible wooden coasters and a kickass waterpark or would you prefer two airtime machines?
  17. Pony Express has always had a line in my experience unless the park is completely dead, in which case Xcelerator is even a walk-on. Sky Cabin may not get huge lines but it's constantly got a flow of people. Dragon Swing, Hat Dance, and the other flats in that area are also consistent with people riding. Just because there's not a huge line out the gate doesn't mean they're not popular. If the ride was open but not cycling because nobody is willing to ride, that's when there's a problem.
  18. Noooooooooo, this is nothing but large puddles. Hershey has had the lower half of the park (Comet Hollow) completely submerged before. Knoebels also had extensive structural damage. I ran into this kind of "flood" at Phantasialand back in 2012. We just went into the pizza joint and waited for the rain to stop. I took this from the porch of the pizza place - What did the flood say to Japan? Nothing, it just waved. Seriously, man, lighten up.
  19. ^ Hyperspace Mountain. Get a fastpass if they're still available, otherwise go for standby. It's friggin' amazing and really enhances the ride. I love Space Mountain by itself but the Hyperspace overlay is incredible. It's pretty much a completely new ride.
  20. Apparently the fact that it has a tendency to explode and send shrapnel all over the area.
  21. How are they taking a 1.6 million Euro loss on an old pool? You're right and I should have dug a bit deeper, that just sounds a bit too much to me.
  22. People being giant pansies. I kinda want Togo to have a resurgence in America so these people would properly understand what "rough" means.
  23. ^ I'm pretty sure Guy's heart would explode with glee before he could post anything.
