La Ronde Discussion Thread
technfxrick replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great Escape had neither, and that was the park that it was sent to after Astroworld closed. That was the only park that didn't have a suspended Coaster, and why it suprised all of us when it headed over to La Ronde. -
Can I get my season pass processed at another park?
technfxrick replied to kumba830's topic in Ask Alvey
Are you buying a new pass, or have you bought a voucher online? If you are buying a new pass, just buy it at sfstl. They dont care which park you get your season pass from. -
Kings Dominion Opening 2010
technfxrick replied to animalfarm2006's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
How many people will be at KD on April 2nd? I know i will, just wondered if people wanted to try and meet up. It would be nice to get to meet some of the TPR folks in this area. I will also be at Carowinds the weekend before for the opening of that Intimidator, if anyone wants to meet up there. -
Last Minute Florida Help
technfxrick replied to SLY's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That coaster never opened, my company has an office right up the road from the park and so i go down there every 3 month or so. Last time i passed it the coaster had been dismantled and was sitting in the parking lot. Its a shame, because it actually looks like it had a nice Go-Kart track for those who are interested in those things. As far as Kid Star Park, and King Richards both are barely credit worthy, but they will let you on. I did a similar trip to you last year when i drove from DC and did a full loop around Florida to get everything. On a side note if you are planning to get the credit at the Tampa Zoo, when i went and explained that i wanted to go just to ride the coaster, the lady at the front desk was very understanding (even asked if i was an ACE member) and let me in for free as i was only going to be there for like 10 minutes. This was nice because otherwise it was $24.99 to get in and its then like $4 to ride the coaster, so it would of been a very expensive kiddie credit. -

TPR's New Forum UPGRADE!
technfxrick replied to Hhappy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had the same thing, In the old version when you exited the browser, if you hadnt read all the topics it just marked them all as read. I used to hate it because if you hadnt been to TPR for a few days, i used to have to make sure to alot an hour or 2 to sit down and read everything. Now whatever you havent read stays as unread. If you want to mark everything as read theres a button at the top of the page that says mark all topics as read and that clears it all out. -
I also am very impressed by this new coaster, it just sucks that its in China. What i am more impressed with however, is i think this is the first coaster to be released on TPR with all positive reviews and not one person so far saying how much this sucks and its not nearly as good as the (insert best coaster at home park here).

Typically in a lease situation, the Leasor has 90 days from them declaring bankruptcy to remove there equipment. If after 90 days, or whenever the bankruptcy has been settled, the equipment still remains, it become part of the Bankruptcy sale. So when FMP bought the assets of HRP then everything should of come free of debt. This is at least how it works in most states as i know a number of people who have made out from Bankruptcys when people leave there stuff behind, and they buy the assets.

Superman Ultimate Flight now stands where Shockwave stood, they talked about taking out Whizzer, but eventually settled on taking out Shockwave. -
TPR's 2011 Trips Questionnaire!
technfxrick replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Elissa, It seems like from what you have said Japan is the popular choice. Will this be a larger group than usual, or around a bus load? Also if you say that alot of people have accounts with you for Japan, will they have any sort of preferential treatment, or will it still be a Lottery? -

I'm planning to go to both Intimidators on opening day, i'm sure the crowds will be awful, but seeing ive done both parks multiple times im not too worried, as the only things i want to ride are the intimidators. -
TPR's 2011 Trips Questionnaire!

Myself and My Fiance, did Australia on our own in March last year, we didn't hit all the parks that the trip is going to but we did go to Seaworld, Movie World, Dreamworld, and Luna Park Sydney. We found that one coaster was down at each of the gold cast parks (The SLC at Movie world so that wasn't a loss, the Vekoma Suspended Kiddie at Dreamworld, and the Arrow Corkscrew at Seaworld). We found that all 3 parks were a half day at best, but they are only open 9-5 so in the end it wasn't that big of a deal. Our Trip was part coasters (4 days) part site seeing (4 days) and part diving the great barrier reef (6 days). we also did the bridge climb in sydney which i STRONGLY recommend for an add on (though it is pricey, about $250 per person if i remember correctly). All in all we spent about 5k for the 2 of us, and that didn't include any flights, as i travel alot for work and we used all frequent flyer miles. so this trip is really a great deal, its not the one we would pick as we did most of the parks in 09 (i'm going for Japan but we also have to pay for a wedding that year so i'm not sure how doable that will be). but i think Australia had some great unique rollercoasters. (and just hope the SLC is down again so you have an excuse not to ride it). -
Coaster used in tv show...
technfxrick replied to obeygiant's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nope it wasnt Belmont, it was Ocean View -
Damn, i was supposed to be on this coaster today. Unfortunately on tuesday my colleague wanted to go to Animal Kingdom instead, so we went there, and then yesterday when i was driving home a Ford F150 flew off a car carrier and straight into my work truck. As a result my company canceled the rest of my trip and sent me straight home last night. O well, i guess i have to wait till i'm next in Orlando, which will probably be in May

Thanks for the fast response, i think i will go to Everland, as i love Intamin Woodies, I just really wanted to try out the AquaTrax. As far as Disney, I like Disney, but i'm not in love with Disney, i just have always heard that DisneySea is the place to go. I am definitely a credit whore, but seeing all of these cities would be 2-3 days at the most, i want to get the most bang for buck so to speak. Once the trip gets closer to being finalized, i'll definitely ask you guys for some more info, it may end up being a 3 week, 2 weekend trip if indonesia and the philippines gets added on, so then i would try to stay the 2nd weekend in Seoul.

I'm in the early stages of planning a work trip to asia for next month. (early as in my boss told me last week to start putting costs together, but hasn't granted it yet). If i go i will definitely have to go to Seoul, South Korea, Guangzhou, China, and Tokyo. I also may have to go to Bali, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Couple of questions. 1. Lotte World. I'm like 6'2 1/2 will they let me on Atlantis Adventure, or are they incredible strict. also if i can only do one should i do Everland, or Lotte World, and how long should i plan to budget for them, as i said this is a work trip so credit collecting will be at a minimum, and i want to spend the weekend in Tokyo to hit DisneySea. 2. Any of the other parks in Seoul interesting (Seoul Land, Childrens Grand Park, etc) there looks like there is a total of 9 parks around Seoul, and i want to make sure i hit the best ones. I plan on having about 3 nights, and a full day in Seoul 3. Chimelong Paradise, I plan to go here, how long should it take, and are any of the other smaller parks around Guangzhou worth it. I only plan on having about 2 nights and a half day in Guangzhou. 4. Tokyo, DisneySea is a park i've always wanted to go to, I'm planning on spending a full day here, will this be enough? I will have 2.5 Days (2 of them will be a weekend) and 2 nights in Tokyo. What other parks would be available to make a day trip for from Tokyo. i've thought about Fuji Q (but i haven't heard many good things about the lines from the people on here) or Nagashima. Are either of these day trips on the trains, and if so which would you recommend. Thanks ahead of time for your help, if i did this trip it would be sometime after Feb 10, and i would be back in the US by March 6th
