  1. Welcome to TPR Orangedude! Glad to see you got your TR together! Looks like you had a good day at KD and the pics are pretty good, sans the bad quality of the images. I do think you should've hit I305 though. I'd be interested in your take for intense coasters.
  2. Five year plan for both my homeparks. BGW 2013 - general park improvements 2014 - Festa Italia retheme to something more Italy-related. New major flat ride added (thinking Huss Frisbee). 2015 - general park improvements 2016 - Intamin acccelerator + refurbishment of major old rides 2017 - new country (Spain) with new family rides, large flats, and a major coaster (I'm thinking a GCI). KD 2013 - general park improvements (repainting old rides, cleaning up the area, more trees, etc) 2014 - remove old Hurricane Reef slides and re-expand the lake. Move Tornado to the newer section. Open up a bridge that goes underneath Rebel Yell to the waterpark and open the area behind Ricochet as another entrance. This sounds like the perfect opportunity to expand the waterpark a bit more too. Add mat slide, water coaster, updated tube/body slides, and maybe an Aqua Loop. 2015 - bring back Rebel Yell's old entrance and restore/add theming to that area. I'm thinking a Hurler upgrade as well. 2016 - B&M flyer around Hypersonic's old spot 2017 - Flat ride package + more park improvements
  3. ^ MTV Soundwave was a Paramount park idea, not a SF one IIRC. One concept I'd love to see get off the ground would be Beastly Kingdom. Clicky
  4. Both models were set up inside the park. The Alpengeist one was located in the gift shop close to DarKastle and the Griffon one was located at the main gift shop across from Globe Theater.
  5. So I managed to read through the entire trip report! Pooh looks incredible! The level of detail combined with the cool trackless technology, there's no wonder everyone loves that ride. The Twilight Zone sequence and trippy dream thingy feels kinda out of place and confusing to me though. I'm also not keen on the voices, but that's only because I'm so used to the American ones. Monsters looks like a ton of fun too! But DisneySea, OMG! The theming, the ride quality, everything about that park is perfect. For the Sinbad ride, I actually like both of them. The music (and Chandu) from the newer incarnation and the dark atmosphere in the original one... If Disney could find a way to combine the music and Chandu with the occasional dark scenes and ominous music, it would be an amazing ride. Fantasmic was a great watch too! One day I would love to visit Tokyo Disney and DisneySea. Being a Disney theme park fan, both parks are very high on my list of theme parks I must visit before I die. Hopefully on another Japan tour in the future.
  6. Mini update! Mach Tower was testing again yesterday so it looks like the problem they had is resolved now. Operator training should commence in time for next week! Tower isn't open yet, but should be up and running in time as long as more problems don't arise. Verbolten clearing stretches over BBW's final drop now. Foreign tourists are in full-force right now! I've encountered a few standing in front of Mach Tower as well as on rides. They seem to travel in huge groups carrying cameras, but I prefer them over the middle schoolers any day.
  7. Funny all the planned, but never built concepts you hear in chat. Fiesta Texas planned a dive coaster to be built off one of the cliffs. The land was being cleared before that was shot down. GAdv was supposed to get a custon Tatsu-sized flyer, but had problems with the water table. A lot of other plans were shot down by Jackson township because the township is strict with tree-removal. Projects that did get built were narrowly voted in by the township.
  8. Mach Tower update! Ride's been testing all week long with a few stops in between. I've seen the car rotate on a number of occasions as well as moving up the tower + dropping, raising the catch car, and raising + lowering the carriage. The ride was not testing Sunday.. Training should commence later this week. No word on official opening yet, just unconfirmed dates. I still say cross your fingers for next week.
  9. Mach Tower update! Mach Tower's opening is *hopefully* scheduled for next week. Wednesday is the earliest and Friday is the latest. I saw a few Moser employees around the park and wandering in and out of Mach Tower's area. The large catch car design thingy is back on the vehicle. Let's hope everything goes right this time for our ride night As for Verbolten... The pit in the back area is huge! All the people/construction vehicles look so small in proportion to the hole. Assuming those concrete footers were part of BBW, they're being placed back into the ground (at least it kinda looks that way). Some sort of construction vehicle seems to be hammering them. I used my poncho for the first time today. It's burning hot in there.
  10. ^ That sounds good to me! I'd personally suggest "first person to post the correct answer" like the Bag O Crap thread. Contest winner PM's you their address and you can send prizes in envelopes/packages later. I spent my last 10 years in Williamsburg and went to VA Beach countless times but I've never been to Motor World/Ocean Breeze (although Water Country is a nice park). It looked like a fun little park, although a bit on the seedy side. Glad to see that the place is being upgraded.
  11. ^ Interesting. Another Mach Tower update (these will probably come more often as a lot more work is being done). Brake testing was done today! The car moved slowly up the tower and was brought back down. Maintenance crews were up there all day, so definite progress is being made!
  12. ^ I can't bring a camera to work so no pics. Sorry 'bout that. Mach Tower update! The car is back on the tower and there was catch car testing over the weekend. Opening *should* be within two weeks. At least that's what I'm told to tell everyone. Verbolten update! What looks like hardened concrete footers are being installed. Not sure what those are for, but we'll probably see in the future. Fireworks are extra long for July 4th and the park is pretty much dead early in the day. Crowds pick up by the end of the day though.
  13. I had my wisdoms removed last year and outside of the extreme dizziness I felt (it really didn't help that I was still trying to get my land legs back from a cruise a few days before), it wasn't that bad TBH. I was knocked out the first day and I had some pretty severe bleeding right after the surgery, but it died down afterward. I was in bed for the next day, feeling kinda woozy and my mouth felt a little numb for the remainder of the week. My mouth was still kinda sore for a few days and I had trouble eating some foods, but after about two weeks I got used to it. I got better enough that I was going to New York that weekend.
  14. BGW Update time... Mach Tower: I saw what looks like the base skeleton of the car (wheel assembly) on the tower so something's definitely going on over there. A cable is hanging from the catch car to the ground. Verbolten: Not much is going on, although I saw what looks like concrete pillars sitting in the construction area. Illuminights is in full force right now! I had the opportunity to see it during preview night and here's my quick review. - Oktoberfest was probably my least favorite of all the shows. It was okay at first, but the finish was kinda disappointing for all the buildup the show had. - Italy had a pretty neat show involving acrobats doing bodybending techniques and two Chinese yo yo artists doing neat tricks. - Ireland was probably my favorite of all the shows. It had that silly cheesy theme park show feel, but the fact that it used a good chunk of the area kicks it up a notch. It was totally worth the delay we had. - France had a good show as well involving those cool chair stacking acrobats. Not as funny as Ireland's but still a solid show! - FIreworks were awesome because they're fireworks and everybody loves fireworks!
  15. KD beat Intamin to the punch before BGW did so no conspiracy theories there. At best, it's Mach Tower putting a curse on the rest of the park. Or maybe this BGW vs. KD battle got extreme.
  16. Interlocking loops are two inversions, not one, but it's the mod's job to be as vague as possible to avoid making the game too easy for anyone to win. In that case it was the second (technically third coaster), so assuming LNM was the very first coaster, OE would be the second; however counting GAdv's Lightnin' Loops, it would officially be third.
  17. Quick Mach Tower note, the catch car was sitting at the top of the tower all day today and people were walking in and out of the construction area (could it be a sign that something's going on back there?) Verbolten area is pretty barren so let's hope some nice theming is going to go back there. The park is hoping the ride is operational by about mid-July *crosses fingers*. In other news, I don't like the cuckoo clock facade on the Festhaus, even though it's been up there for weeks. There's just something that feels weird about it. Heck, I feel a lot of the Illuminights decorations feel weird and kinda take away from the park's atmosphere. I did get a cool button though!
  18. Congratulations to the winner! I finally understood the hints once the answer was given But I kinda feel the thread got a bit cluttered with random wild guesses with disregard to all the clues. - Dan "I will win one of those one day"
  19. ^ Trevor, check your PMs. I was at BGW today and couldn't find any Bash people. I did catch somebody with a Fahrenheit t-shirt, but he didn't seem to know anything about the event. The door in front of Mach Tower was left open a little wider today so you could see the car off to the side, but aside from that, construction's been pretty quiet all weekend.
  20. Not the 8850 foot high roller coaster, but a ski resort in the Alps claims to have the highest coaster at 9,800 feet (rounding down). I'm pretty sure this is either an alpine coaster or Alpine slide. http://www.travelbite.co.uk/holiday-ideas/europe/switzerland/the-world-s-highest-rollercoaster-$476334.htm http://www.rcdb.com/m/2907.htm Some of you may be familiar with this coaster. It's located 1400 meters above sea level (4,593.175853 feet) so it's halfway there. The ride is "human powered" according to RCDB. It looks like it could be a homemade coaster, but not much seems to be known about it because of its obscure location.
  21. Oh LOL I was browsing RCDB and stumbled across the kiddie version of that coaster and thought that was it. Anyway congrats to the winner of the contest! This was actually a lot of fun (although a bit nerve wracking trying to find it on RCDB). I'm definitely looking forward to the next Bag O Crap "Guess that Coaster" giveaway.
  22. WINNER!! That coaster was relocated?
  23. Not in the US... Windstorm @ Playcenter Sao Paulo? I'm just throwing guesses out there.
  24. Super Tornado @ Mirabilandia Brazil?
