Watched Walter Hill's The Warriors again tonight. As the film begins and ends at Coney Island's Astroland, it got me wondering which other movies and TV shows feature theme parks and roller coasters? Of the top of my head I can name the following: - National Lampoon's Vacation - With the Griswold's trek to Six Flags Magic Mou... er ...Wally World. - Beverly Hills Cop III - Roller Coaster (I guess that one's pretty obvious, eh?) - True Romance - it's years since I saw this but I'm sure I remember a coaster in there. C'mon, name some others!

A visit to Flamingoland (Velocity was closed )in the UK this summer peaked my interest and a variety of Google searches brought me here on the tides. To be honest (and to my shame), I've only just been bitten by the roller coaster bug, but now I want MORE! A trip to Blackpool soon should give me a fix - I'm egging myself to overcome "The Fear" and get my ass on Pepsi Max Big One (plus Big Dipper and Grand National if time and family permit). Fishy

I was going to make my second coaster candy themed (albeit in RCT3). Oh well, might have to rethink it a bit now (although my coaster idea should stand the change of theme without any problem).

Hey FishyFish, First, good looking coaster To answer your question, all theming has to be within the 20x30 area, theming and land structure outside the 20x30 area can still have an effect on the coasters ratings. Keeping it all within the 20x30 area keeps it fair and easier to judge/monitor. Cool. I'm pretty certain that none of my scenery is outside the 20x30 boundary. Thanks BTW.

Another question about the Giga Coaster challenge... Do we have to use the template parks that have been supplied in the other thread? I'm presuming 'yes' so that it's a level playing field? Thanks, Fishy

Hi, Can you clear up a few points of confusion please? The rules say that the ride has to be built on a flat piece of land, but also that you can sink the ground to make false tunnels? Does this also mean that hills are out? Plus, when you say that no paths should be built from the entrance / exit, does this mean that no paths can be built at all? Thanks, Fishy

Here're a few shots of a park me and some other folks are working on. Someone takes the park, adds a few rides and some scenery and then passes it on to the next contributor. Consequently it's a bit of a mish mash but it's still turning out quite nice.

Been OK here for a few hours now. When WILL the time travel technology be perfected? I'd like to go back further than March....

I'm pretty new to this roller coaster / theme park lark (to my shame, being 36 years old!), so could someone explain the connection between Six Flags and the DC Comics theming of so many of their rides? Oh, and I saw Robb on TV here in the UK the other day! In some 1999 programme called The Greatest Thrill Rides where he was riding Viper at Magic Mountain. How's it feel to be famous?

It's unplayable on my PC. 3Ghz P4 512Mb RAM Radeon 9800 Pro Took over 10 minutes to load and then ran at about 10 frames a minute. I suspect I need more RAM - even Windows complained that system memory was low when I Ctrl-Alt-Del'ed to get out. I really want to see it too.

No worries - it's probably just the way that RCT3 deals with some tracks from the previous games. It still looked good - even if I didn't manage to ride it all the way around.

Evil Kenievel wouldn't work for me - it didn't make it around the track even if I increased the lift speed. (I'm using RCT3 with the Soaked expansion). Some great rides there folks!

As the deadline's been extended, I'll just sneak this in - Downfall. Hi folks, Newbie here (great forum BTW! - A zillion interesting threads and a bunch of wonderul videos. Should keep me busy a while...). I thought I'd upload one of my tracks. It's not my first by far, but it's the first I've uploaded (hope I've done it right). It's something I made last night with no real plan in mind, but which ended up working out pretty nice.
