  1. That looks AWESOME! I think its already looking like its better than Behemoth and I haven't even rode it yet! Can't wait to try it out tomorrow! Also, whats up with all the unfinished construction near the Crypt? Will the Crypt be open for opening day? I'm totally excited!
  2. I guess I can't talk for all Cedar Fair parks, but I know for sure that's the mind set at Cedar Point. I do know that Possessed at Dorney Park and Runaway Reptar at Kings Island all have 76" Max Height Restrictions that are closely watched. Most of the other no-so-watched restrictions on some rides are more of a restraint fitting problem. I know Delirium at Kings Island is also 76" but I was able to get on it with no problems (Remember I am 79" Tall).
  3. I'm interested in Canada's Wonderland numbers in comparison to Cedar Point's. Both parks have similar seasons, with Cedar Point probably open a few more days over the season, and Canada's Wonderland came out on top! Goes to show that CW is a winner for Cedar Fair in my view. How do this years numbers compare to last years numbers (if anyone has that data)?
  4. My Home Park is Cedar Point. I am there at least 6 times a week... but only because I work there! When I wasn't working there I made it to the park around 10-15 days a season.
  5. I am 23 Years Old My First Roller Coaster was Jr. Gemini at Cedar Point. When? I was to little to remember... I just remember it being the coolest thing ever and it being really big. My First looping coaster was also at Cedar Point, Corkscrew! Now you understand why CP is my favorite park of all time, I practically grew up there!
  6. Here is another... This one is of Wildcat and Fahrenheit at Hershey Park. If you would like it in its original color let me know, I can post it. Here is the version with color changes and filters. Enjoy! 1680x1050 Widscreen .
  7. Anything that involves wires... I'll make loops, hills, ect. out of the wire when I'm bored.
  8. Well that stinks to hear that the park is going to keep the height restrictions for Bizarro where they are. I have to say that I am very disappointed seeing that I spend allot of time there, and loved being able to ride Superman. Also I am surprised Millennium Force doesn't have the same restrictions. At most Cedar Fair parks the only restriction is the seat, if you fit you ride. They expect you to keep your hands and feet inside the train at all times, so if you for some reason hang you hand out and it gets smacked your at fault. They only exceptions I have seen are on Intamin Impulse coasters like Possessed... except Wicked Twister doesn't have that restriction.
  9. Probably because Cedar Fair shuns this kind of thing... haha (Unless you had permission, then its fine). Seriously cool though, I like the original song to begin with and this remix goes well with it.
  10. I would love to go to this park, but the only thing that bothers me is the height restriction on Bizarro. I'm 79" tall and would totally not be able to ride. Has it always been restricted like this? I sent a concern to the park and they replied saying that the restriction is still in place, which make no since unless its because of the tunnel and the fly through. They said it was a restriction set by the manufacturer, but I have been on rides like Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster MANY times and I fit just fine. None the less, this is upsetting as I have wanted to ride this ride now for years and never knew there was a restriction. Anyone know anything about the restriction? I have never had trouble at any park for height restrictions unless it was a kiddie coaster. Good pictures from the TR though, I like how Bizarro looks.
  11. Looks like I really need to get to Carowinds this year at some point! Great photos, very good quality! I like the colors of Carolina Cobra even better now... Very bright and unique color scheme. Those inverts like to valley don't they (Raptor Fall 2006 Anyone)??? =P
  12. ^Yea I agree... If you wish to contribute please process the photos for desktop use. Don't just post a bunch of photos you think look "nice". Just saying. For some help, here are some popular desktop resolutions. Hope this helps... 4:3 (Monitor Standard) 1024x768 1280x1024 1600x1200 16:10 (Monitor Widescreen) 1680x1050 1920x1200 16:9 (HD Widescreen) 1280x720 (720p) 1920x1080 (1080p) The larger the better, since the images themselves can usually be scaled down to fit any background. But also make sure your source image is equal or greater then the size you want the finished image to be.
  13. Here are a few of mine... I will contribute more if there is desire for more I will Post them on my Deviant Art Page (Something that I havent done much with for a long time) http://bgroodog.deviantart.com/ Disney's Tomorrowland 1680x1050 Widescreen Disney's Magic Kingdom 1680x1050 Widescreen Cedar Point's Maverick 1680x1050 Widescreen Cedar Point's Magnum XL-200 1680x1050 Widescreen Cedar Point Aerial 1680x1050 Widescreen
  14. Sweet! I always love me some new Backgrounds on my computer! I have a few to share too, I will get them posted tomorrow. Can this be an official Wallpaper Thread? I think it should be!
  15. Sounds about right seeing as we have seen almost all seasons this past week alone here in Ohio... but idk about "Gently"
  16. Well I worked on Mantis at Cedar Point last summer and could not believe the amount of times I told someone they HAVE to wear their shoes to ride. Usually the response is "This ride hoes upside down though, they will fall off!" Usually we reply "They wont fall off cause your STANDING on them." Whats even crazier is last summer not a single shoe was lost on the ride. The stairs leading up to the station however, oh man... I would say at least 4 times a weeks we would have to retrieve a misplaced shoe from below the stairs. How does this happen? I could never figure this out! Also, at entrance you get all kinds of crazy questions. My favorite at Mantis is "Does this ride go upside down". Usually ends with me not saying a word and pointing at the giant Loop behind them.
  17. I don't think anyone runs a resolution big enough to view fully view these photos. But the photos were neat... I just had to Right Click and View Image to see them better. Makes me excited for my Disney trip in a few day down in Orlando!
  18. Some that I know that do have sand are Hydra, Talon and Behemoth. Raptor and Mantis I'm sure both don't since they are older B&M's. I'm always surprised that Raptor isn't any louder, but the noise also has to do with the type of wheels that are used. If you can her it roar, chances are there is no sand.
  19. Since I worked on Mantis at Cedar Point I would have to agree on it being the loudest coaster that I have ever heard. When the ride is cycling it is EXTREMELY hard to talk to guests when the train is on the first part of the course, even when talking loudly. I can hear the ride in the back of the parking lot and can tell exactly where the ride is on the track at all times just by listening. Fun Trivia... The reason why there was no sand added to Mantis is because of its original name, Banshee. They wanted the ride to be intimidating to guests, like a screaming Banshee flying around the tracks. I really wish they could have kept the name...
  20. ^ I just realized that I quoted the wrong person... It was meant for the guy above him who asked
  21. Direct from the blog.... "If you checked out the webcam today, you probably noticed the water in the splashdown pool has been drained. This was done so we can finish the site work around that part of the ride."
  22. See its not as bad as everyone makes it! The first half of the ride is killer, and one of my favorite sets of elements in the park (Air on Drop, Hang-time on Loop, Dive, Intense Loop, Quick S-Bend). I just with the ride was better after the MCBR.
  23. Well if you all remember the site where Maverick sits now was cleared very early in the year as well. They already had footers in place when Skyhawk was having its Media Day. So this is likely to be a big project, I don't think there is any doubting this.
  24. Most of the time we follow our own "Look at the Thighs and Butt, not the gut" rule when it come to judging who should try the test seat on Millie. Also, generally the test seat belt is a wee bit smaller to filter out any "Close Calls" on the platform. If you were to try the test seat and ALMOST manage to buckle it you are allowed to try the train seat out if you are not convinced. I can tell you that this past season the seat bets got replaced and are somewhat less restrictive than in years past. Top Thrill is much more restrictive, so it's more likely you will be fine on Millennium Force but not Top Thrill. It's really hard to determine unless you have past experience with problems with restraining system. Have you ridden other Intamin trains with similar seat belt systems?
  25. Wow, I am shocked on the amount of hype around these photos... Way above what I expected. Thank you all for you comments, I may have to do this again sometime! Want some quick stats? Here you go... Front Page on TPR Spot on Screamscape TPR Stats Photo Views - 4,923 x (36 Photos) = 177,228 total photo views Flickr Saturday - 208 Sunday - 1240 Monday - 4096 Monday (so far) - 6,300 ----------------------------- Total Flickr Views - 11,916 It's even more amazing because I only had around 19,000 total views on my account photos prior to this. I have had the account since 2006.
