  1. Rainy days are the best days to go to the park! They only close rides for lightning or very high winds. That's it.
  2. I think I was the first to say on here, the whole Terminator theme made no sense to me and the whole preshow sucked. I don't think anyone agreed with me though at the time. Can't they just have us get on the ride and have fun? I didn't realize they took the music off though. Not sure how much I paid attention to the onride music though.
  3. I could only imagine how much more SFMM would make if the food was priced reasonably. I would go out of my way to not eat there with the prices the park charges. Other SoCal parks can charge what they do because of other reasons. I can't wait to go back to SFMM though.
  4. Aww the coaster that goes along with my favorite theme park commercial! I think this was my first big real rollercoaster while I was in Webelos back in the days of gang infested Magic Mountain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R000iWVmbgU
  5. I have hit my hands on the leaves and it somewhat hurts. I know I can dip my toes of my shoes onto the tracks too when the rides first starts out. But I would never ever want a height restriction like when I pretended I was shorted on Deja Vu and realized why there is a height restriction on that ride after the first time I rode it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW I would love to be buzzed on Tatsu or X-2, but not drunk. Drunk has no room for theme parks.
  6. That's my favorite ride. Especially since my feet can basically touch the track and my hands can hit the tree's leaves. Its super scary and so smooth! Always must ride the front to understand this more.
  7. I wish parks would sell beer at a reasonable price. Maybe have some way to have drinks limited if they are worried about angry people. Sometimes it really is nice to sit at a bench listen to the park noise and just relax with a drink. I can't wait to see that restaurant open though, as it always seems weird to see it closed.
  8. Nice! Trying to figure out why Magic Mountain repainted the track blue.
  9. That makes me think that person probably shouldn't be going on a rollercoaster. I saw a great one going to Magic Mountain on Sunday. On Terminator a couple walked in front of us to get in the line and before walking to where the line starts, started to make out while blocking the whole empty portion of the line. Quite awesome. You may not know about the person who gets the backcut. I know someone, that if they stay standed for too long, they could collapse. Unfortunately, the guy working there told him he needed to wait for the line to clear up. So yeah, remember if someone is just limping around with no crutchs, it could be a medical problem. -Matt
  10. SFMM was stopping people from that line cutting stuff during when they were busy for Halloween on Goliath. Everyone around me when they went through our part of the line was staying stuff to them. I have a bad enough temper and won't hold my tongue for people, so I have to always look the other way to keep cool. I cannot stand Disneyland and everyone having to drive around on a motorized wheelchair. Those are the most annoying people on earth. Attempt to walk around during the parades and have those people near you. I was with my GF and this guy behind me and 2 girls he was with got stuck behind someone. They started yelling at him to move. Then the person behind him started yelling at him to move. I turned around looked at him, and said come on fly up in the sky and move!! And you guessed it, part of the clogging of everything were all the stupid people on those motorized things. So I started calling them Wall-E people. Also what's up with all these supposed injured people getting to go to the front of the line? I had a torn MCL for SFMM and Disneyland with an actual doctors note but still limped around and went through the normal line. Whereas just plain fat people or someone hopping around with no crutches, cast or anything get to ride first??? WTF. The last peeve that seems strange to me is people standing in line that are basically leaning on me. I haven't quite figured this one out yet. Is it because I am 6'4 and resemble a leaning poll? For the smoker/nonsmoker people. I find it funny Disneyland has their smoking area right next to the exhaust portion of Autopia.
  11. I still need to go a few more times with my season pass. Deja Vu is basically closed the rest of the year? Glad my GF was able to ride it at the West Coast Bash event. First in line!
  12. I am always super scared when riding Tatsu at SFMM. That's the only ride I think I have been on where if that fails, everyone goes plop. But I always worry when I share a lapbar with anyone. I am 6'4" 235 lbs and the bars on certain rides, especially Disneyland, don't close on my GF, let alone her little younger cousin.
  13. Scream is my favorite ride there. I am just tall enough where I probably could stick my foot in the track, and can hit branches while holding my hands up. Scares me a lot. Was Deja Vu open all day? I think I got made fun of on the Terminator thread for saying the preshow was awful. I can't believe when its not crowded you still have to watch. I guess that means they will probably do this when the ride gets old too. I went the Saturday before Halloween and the park was packed beyond belief. Almost 2 hour line for Goliath. But that was worth it in the dark.
  14. I remember the commercials when this ride opened at Knotts. It was for 3 new rides and the commercial was in the dark with the 3 rides all lit up. The other one was the swings and something else.
  15. Went last Friday. First thing is run to Space Mountain. Get a fast pass then get in line. After that we went over to California Adventure for Tower of Terror over and over. But if only Disneyland make sure to ride Space Mountain very first and get that fast pass. You will want to ride it more than once. Most lines have longer wait times than what they really are. The best example was Thunder Mountain was posted as 40min I think but was more like 15min. Make sure to ride that sometime during the day. It's so sun. Also when you go to Pirates, look towards the lake area, as the Nightmare Before Xmas Skellington and the girl are dressed in amazing costumes taking pictures. I think only the Haunted House and Space Mountain are redone for Halloween though. Oddly enough it seemed as though Indiana Jones had some weird club lights going on at the beginning of the ride, for the door he is trying to hold back. And of course do not forget to line up somewhere, like 45min early, with a view of the castle for the fireworks show at 9:30? The show is better than normal, and fun to watch. I have been there for way too many holidays (including 4th of July), and I think this was the best one. People were staking out spots over 3 hours before this!!! There was a good secret area we found, but it's hard to explain where it's located. Kind of looking at the castle from the entrance and to the left under a red/white striped awning area. The park was super packed last Friday. The positive to this, was that every ride had all their effects going. Some I have never seen before. And I think I went 6 times last year??
  16. From Glendale over here. Went to Disneyland on Friday and was shocked at how good the ride was! After the second ride we did the questionnaire, and after being asked what we liked most, I yelled the MUSIC! And there was no option for the music. I don't get it. Take the time to have a guy standing there with a tablet PC and you don't have that option??? Everyone was having so much fun on the ride. This is one of those times where I really was yelling each time the ghost comes to get you. I would prefer they just keep the ride like this forever.
  17. I remember seeing you two at the SFMM Bash a few months ago. I went to UCI and never heard anyone ever tell me there was a park like that in Orange County. Though I was kind of hoping to see huge rollercoaster for some reason.
  18. I don't remember seeing any cheesey themes or intros at Disneyland, well maybe their train ride is a bit on that side. I don't know how a bunch of wires and random lights make a theme. We could figure out what part of the movie we were in, but to not have a terminator with a gun and bandanna on, like the movie, just seems so halfway done. Most of the people in the room with us were laughing at the videos. And were looking around and commenting on the random wiring being stupid. We even talked to some park workers who made the same comments about the ride before we mentioned it. On the more interesting note, we saw the guy (forgot his name) walking around the batman area, who was doing the speaking at the West Coast Bash about the ride when we went behind the scenes. I am still surprised at how great the ride is though.
  19. The theme is so cheap looking and very halfway done. I was not the only one laughing when you see the first TV monitor and the awful lines the actors had to say. I wonder if they attempted to get Christian Bale to say anything.
  20. The rules are not completely true for swimsuits. My GF bought a 1 piece more dress looking swimsuit and they stopped us from riding on the bigger rides. They claimed she was wearing a dress. She didn't want to wear a bikini because we both thought there is a high chance of it coming off on the bigger rides. So the park definitely encourages small bikinis. That does not seem appropriate for families, but its good to know just in case.
  21. I noticed one of the trains had every other row with a pulled off speaker piece. The train I rode in on Saturday was less destroyed. I think they should get rid of the entire theme. And the sound was just annoying. But the ride was quite awesome. Anyone else think when this ride becomes old, that the theme is going to seem stupid and cheesey?
  22. Goliath is the only ride I ever felt like I was going to black out on. But riding X2 after eating all those donuts was the first time I have ever had a sick feeling on a ride. Thanks donuts. You made me realize I wouldn't be able to eat while riding on a coaster. Something I have been wondering lately. Also the beginning to Tatsu doesn't scare me as much after going on Insanity in Vegas a month ago. So that sucks as well. Had to post to test out my new avatar.
  23. And that is exactly why I am scared on Tatsu's lift!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. That was really fun. My GF and I were the first in line for Deja Vu. I am jealous she road in the front while I had to wait at the exit. I remember last time riding it I was really scared since I was over the height limit. I now remember where my feet can hit on the ride. Sorry for holding up the line asking them about it. The weather was so strange, but somehow the sun came out during the park being open just for us. That was pretty awesome!! The feel to the park was like going to a midnight showing of some Sci-Fi movie. All the rides became that much more fun. And I loved how diverse the group was!! I think we were the last train to have the flame effects on for X2. I was scared since after we went through the flame I saw them blow right across through the tracks. We were the last car. And we came back into the station and they were looking at the box on the back. The next ride didn't have flames.
  25. I was told by the worker at X2 to go opposite around the park. Meaning Goliath first and make your way around and end at X2. I haven't attempted that path yet. But it kind of makes sense. The part that bothers me if X2 breaking down at the end of the day.
