Went on Saturday as it wasn't raining at the moment in LA. It was raining pretty hard while on the offramp to exit to the park. I was amazed to see X2 going even with the flames! Asked the parking guy about closing. And they told me only in large wind storms and lightning. So we go in thinking its going to rain the rest of the day and people are leaving. Go in and the lines are short!! We rode X2 twice in a row. Didn't even have to wait the 2nd time. So obviously it was so slow that they were kind of waiting for more people on some of the rides. I got a picture of Riddlers Revenge with no one in the queue area. And tatsu was only filling half the train. We weren't the only ones talking about the rainy days around this time in SoCal are the best times to go to Magic Mountain.

Magic Mountain is the best rollercoaster park. Disneyland is nice because its themed and even though the rides are super cheesey they turn out to be a lot of fun. I even had fun on Dumbo last time I was there. So it kind of depends on what you like. My GF and I can ride X2 all day long, but can still have a ton of fun on rides like Dumbo which just spins in a circle and you go up and down. Almost everyone I have ever met doesn't really like to stay at Magic Mountain because they aren't into rollercoasters. Oh I hope I get to go Sunday. I really want to go at least once a month there to get use of my parking pass.

Worst Themed ride you have been on?
travanx replied to kenshinmac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The dancing cars were kind of decent. Not sure why they wasted money to do that though. I also can't believe they would actually build a set like that for a movie. -
I liked how when you got off of Flashback at SFMM that everyone would be in pain. I never understood how that stayed open for so long with that kind of an exit by riders. Shockwave at SFMM was one of the first roller coasters I ever went on. And maybe its not exactly a coaster, but I miss those stupid People Movers at Disneyland. And still wish they had Z-Force at SFMM. I love the nut cruncher part of them strapping you in and all the people would be yelling.

I still can't get over Scream at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I think this is the best ride I have ever been on, but really they couldn't just paint the car striping lines black to match the parking lot asphalt, at the very least??? What maybe like $100 to at least make the ground not so tacky. The theme is basically hundreds of trash cans on your way to the ride. -
Six Flags Season Pass Survey
travanx replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was happy to fill this out and make it known that when my gf and I visit that the food is just too expensive for what the park is. I also think that a lot of the offers were very lame. Such as flip flops and hat. I think they should just save their money. Or charge less for the season pass. Or discount the parking. I like the idea of going a lot and getting a free guest pass. I have gone 5 times since Dec and plan to go at least once a month. And it is too bad that they didn't have more comment areas. I just went to Disneyland last week and now see just how different the two parks really are. Maybe they could buy some paint for some rides instead of giving pass holders a bottle of water? -
The hill is right next to Gold Rush. Where Spinout used to be next to an icee stand. Doesn't seem too bad to me, but I could see out of shape people having some issues with not making it that way. I don't see why they need a monorail. You can just walk from one ride to the next so easily. And with lines so short, you can go on everything between 10am-6pm. I am looking forward to go back to the park ASAP. Next scheduled trip is Dec 23.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
travanx replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I kept wondering why they don't advertise the ride over in that area. I also heard so many people in ride lines talking about going on Deja Vu. How come you guys were at the park on Saturday? I cant wait to get my money's worth out of the 2009 season pass. I mainly bought it for this new ride. In case anyone at the park is listening. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

Went on the 6th and was hoping to get on Deja Vu. Everything is closed off so I figured take a couple pics with my camera phone. Ugh this new phone has the worst quality pics ever. Stood next to the fire hydrant and just aimed my camera towards the concrete over the fence. Some Concrete, to the left of this is where the wood is sitting. Deja Vu closed -
I was always curious how much land behind the park they owned. I worked at a company that would have most likely been the engrs when they were thinking of putting up houses over the six flags site. Anyways, can't they just build another coaster out on the parking lot? Six Flags owns a lot of land that sits behind the park. They wouldnt have to worry about room at all, they'd just simply expand the park boundaries. Cant say the same for Knott's though My hope is, if its a big thrilling coaster, that we'd get a B&M Dive Machine. If something a little more family friendly, then perhaps another GCI Woodie or something like Pony Express but a lot better.

Woah someone else remembering that commercial!! Shockwave was my first rollercoaster when I went with the cub scouts to Magic Mountain. I looked all over youtube a few times looking but couldn't find the commercial. Because of that commercial my older brother went on with his sunglasses just to make sure. Also bought Play Passes with free parking for this year, since my current GF likes rollercoasters as much as I do. We are planning on going for a few hours this weekend to get started on making these worth the money. Scream is my new 2nd favorite rollercoaster. Mostly because I almost can touch the tracks with my feet which scares me.
