  1. You are right, Indy should be able to sustain a park of thier own. Living only a hour from Indy I know I would go. But at the same time I live in a unique place. KI is only about an hour and fifteen minutes from me. Holiday world is abotu three hours only because there is no direct route from me, all back roads. Indiana Beach is about two hours and although a haul Cedar Point is about six hours. Not sure the timing for Kentucky Kindom, but should be about two hours. Chicago is foru or five hours depending on where you are going. Holiday World and Indiana Beach are well established and I think it would take a great park with some awesome marketing to get another up and running. One thing that could be a help is theming it around the sports of Indy. The 500, the Pacers, the Colts and the ICE. We also have NHRA events. Also you have all the amature sports and we are a hot bed of High School basketball. [visit indiana on]As for a city for tourists I would disagree. Yes it helps if you are into sports, the NCAA headquarters and hall fo fame are here but there are lots of great things to do in Indy from the Zoo to world class museums. Lots of awesome parks, even a state park right down town. [visit indiana off]
  2. Yes Is there snow where you live right now?
  3. Everything seems alright to me. I don't like the new lap bars though.....
  4. /\ Has 5132 posts < Thinks that any question can be answered with "The Force" V Will use the force to post a response
  5. My clock is only at 10 minutes
  6. They've updated today with some new pictures. I would post some, but I won't lie to you, I suck at the posting picture thing.
  7. Ok.....totally random, but everytime I see this thread I think LL Cool J.... Don't call it a comeback... Now back to your reguarly scheduled thread.....
  8. Current high schoolers=must be able to read or at least have some common sense.
  9. NO actaully not. I work for Kroger and we aren't allowed to let minors throw trash down that garbage chute. Never mind that it is four feet off the floor and the chute if six feet long. They are worrried someone might fall in... no kidding.
  10. I just found this thread..... AWESOME!!!!! Laughed and laughed!!!! Awesome work!
  11. Personally I think that if it does get built (and I think this about the folks who own things that get poopooed by others) paint it some gawd awful color so they can look at it everyday. Bright pink, lime green, or go to the paint surplus store and get what ever they have left in stock. We had a lady here in town who complained about a business' storage shed having a faded paint job..... my thought.... slap some bright purple paint on it and say thanks!
  12. That really bums me out too. We vacationed in MB every year from the time I was born until I was like 18 and a few times after that..... Spent MANY an evening wandering downtown and riding the rides there. Always had to hit the space needle once before we left town.
  13. No I realize that FD didn't replace the Cobra in space, but it did on my list. After te first couple of rides on the Cobra it was like.... OK...next. I just get no thrill from FD other than the wlildly swinging brake run.
  14. It's hard to top my first concert.... Rush... July 3, 1984 But for a shear stage show, DIO by far the best stage and light show I have seen.
  15. I'm not much of a theater type but I really love 1776.......
  16. That would be pretty awesome to see!!
  17. My coaster count isn't huge, but Top Gun/ Flight Deck @ KI is yawn city for me. from the forst drop to the end. It replaced Cobra @ KI for snooze factor. While most woodies do some number on you, I haven't yet found one that I didn't enjoy.... and yes that includes SOB.
  18. Yeah thanks for those pics. That is one thing that irritates me about the webcam...... ok what's going on past the lift hill!!!????!!!!!!
  19. Gotta say, even though being new here I will give it a try...... and to Robb...... Remember... grippig to the webmaster+wemaster power=dropping the banhammer :
  20. One thging our family does is sit down each week and plan rthe next weeks menu for meals. We were spending upwards of $1000 a month at the grocery store yet we never seemed to have anything in the house ( we are a family of 6, the wifey and four kids)After we started palnniog meals the grocery bill dropped to less than $600 a month. Also look over te grocery ad each week. Find stuff you like that is on sale and stock up. I work for Kroger so that helps too. Also I will never again buy an off the lot car. The minute you drive it off you lose a ton of value. Look for good reliable used cars. If you look enough you can find a good reliable used car lot and/or salesman (yes they do exist) And the school thing is great. Here in IN we have what is calle 21st Century Scholars. The kid maintains a certain GPA throughout HS and gets tuition toward a state school. I think that they may have added the dollar value on non state school as well. And defiantely check with the locals on deals. When we went to Cedar Point a few years back, when we checked into the hotel they handed me pop cans good for $10 off at the gate.
  21. Rush tops the list for me, my first concert evar, though my tastes run all over the place. I've seen everything from Chicago, Survivor and the Beach boys to Mettalica (with Cliff) Ozzy, and the Scorpions.
  22. Kings Island's old parking lot trollys are still there, sitting back in the weeds.
  23. I was 10 or 11 and it was the Racer at KI!! Rode it like seven times in a row....hooked ever since.
  24. Since I am in the nieghborhood, Diamondback for me as well. I live in IN but have nto been to Holiday world..... maybe a trip south should be in trhe works this next summer.
  25. King Cobra (KI) Screamin' Demon (KI) Bavarian Beetle (KI) Galaxi (Pavillion) Corkscrew (Pavillion/Magic Harbor) Python (BG Tampa)
