  1. Though I am saddened to say it, mark my words: The park will be Geagua'd within 3 years. And realistically, it probably is the best thing. SFKK is like a 2-sport athlete who never really excels at either sport. There's too much competition in the area. Their ride side can't compete with Kings Island. Their wet side can't compete with Holiday World. It's obvious that they need to pick their stronger "sport" and go with it. This is the waterpark. If they put the kind of capital they are hinting at towards the Geagua-ing, then they could really give Holiday World a run for the money. With the removal of Chang, the ride side's only real draws are: Twisted Twins: SBNO for 2+ years with little hope Mile High Falls: SBNO with fate uncertain T2: Oldest and most painful SLC around. Thunder Run: Tearing itself apart. Needs major rehab. Greezed Lightning: Double-Frankensteined shuttle-loop. Won't last forever. There are no high-end flats to entice prospective quests with A 20 million capital investment could replace one or two of these ailing rides, or it could put in a major waterpark expansion. Geagua-ing is the smart play here. I'd rather see an awesome waterpark thrive than see a once beloved park flounder on life support.
  2. This looks great. I'm a big fan of the Halloween franchise. Wish I could be there. Break a leg! Incidentally, what keyboard(s) do you use for gigging?
  3. Yes. It goes to the traditional "fair tickets" system. It takes about $4 worth of tickets to ride Chang during the fair. Never, ever go to SFKK during the fair. It's highway robbery.
  4. Love the SFMM video. Where'd you get the X2 audio file?
  5. Mark Shapiro doesn't care about Kentucky Kingdom...
  6. I couldn't have said it any better. This is quite a stretch...even for Screamscape. I'm kind of surprised they even found this one postable.
  7. ^ Better yet, collect a whole bunch of these and give it it's own DVD. They are hilarious.
  8. Screamscape is now reporting that the idea of moving Chang to SFGAm is being tossed around. I'll be pretty surprised if that comes to fruition.
  9. This is a no brainer. You should go. I mean, what the heck else are you going to do? Study? I didn't think so. Even with crowds you'll still have fun and make new friends. And if crowds are light, that's just bonus.
  10. Just a heads up to set your DVRs & VCRs: Extreme Terror Rides 2: Death Defying Drops premieres Wednesday (9/2) on the Travel Channel. These Travel Channel shows are usually pretty well done. Among other rides, this one features The Voyage, Steel Hawg, and Giant Drop at Dreamworld.
  11. Specifically, what hotel did you stay at? I'm going to call them and find out where they got those coaster photo-collage things. I want those in my house!
  12. 1. VIP Experience at Cedar Point 2. Drive a Ferrari 3. Take Batting Practice at a MLB Stadium (Preferrably StL.) 4. See My Sons Graduate College 5. Take my Wife to Italy
  13. I have a hunch this will be a chain-wide move. I expect to see similar announcements from KI & KD soon.
  14. I've always thought that MP would be really cool to go to, but I've always wondered: are there any bathrooms there?
  15. ^ Usually on Discovery Science Channel
  16. This one isn't too bad, though they focus WAY too much on Maximum RPM...err Roundabout or whatever it is now. Worth a watch.
  17. I'm very excited about this one but can anyone out there comment about the capacity and typical throughput of this type of ride? I have a feeling it's going to load slower than Zinga, Zoombabwe and Bakuli all of which almost always have 30min-1hr+ waits. I think this is a fantastic addition, but the next thing HW puts in the waterpark desperately needs to be a real people eater. (Much like jungle racers is). Splashin' Safari's capacity is growing quite impressively, but so are average wait times...
  18. My understanding is that it would indeed make 6 rockets in america, but only 3 of those (if the addition is a rocket) are powered by LIMs. But I am hardly an authority on the subject. Got my info from a quick scan of the Proslide wiki article, which is only semi-reliable at best. We'll know everything in an hour!
  19. Numerical hints from Paula via Twitter: My guesses: 1/3 - Number of Proslide LIM Rockets in America 2.1 - (Million) Cost of other additions/improvements 5.5 - (Million) Cost of main addition 8 - Number of rafts/boats on the new ride.
  20. Amazing report and park! The attention to detail at CB is amazing. Almost Disney-esque! It just shows what a difference having an enthusiast at the helm makes. Can't wait to see more TRs from here and of course future expansions.
