  1. This report sucks!! It makes me miss Japan even more! I can sympathize with you Joey about your love for all the LOSERS going on the trip!! JJ (keep up the good work!)
  2. Great PTR Martin!! Loved the adventure you and Cheryl had!
  3. Yeah, you're right. I hadn't looked at this thread in awhile. Forgot about those pics.
  4. As cool as this looks, I am a bit perplexed. I know the pic isn't in the highest resolution, but does anyone else notice that there's no lift chain guide track, sprockets or likely motor mounts for the lifthill? Usually, aren't those assembled with the main support structure?? Just curious.
  5. The things I remember most about the Magic Pagoda were the mirror maze, the accompanying "funny" mirrors, and strobe light rooms. There were also passages of statues along some of the walls. I only did it a couple of times. JJ
  6. ^Thanks for posing this. Very cool stuff! It's nice to know that the models are finding a good home, though I kinda wish that they could somehow remain on display at KBF. Something like the city hall at CP. (Is that even still there?) JJ
  7. I'm really curious to see how much staying power HP-land really has. I agree that a 36% increase is incredible, but how will that number hold up next year? As the newness of HP wears off, and the tons of people being duped into believing that there actually IS a HP theme park (later to find out that it's only a small themed land of a larger park), will the numbers continue to hold steady, or decline? For the record - Hate HP Hate what they did to the DD queue Saw Sinbad once - no great loss The ORIGINAL Poseidon was way better that ANY revisions - so who cares Goodbye Mythos - Not as good the last few years anywho The biggest question is: What will happen to the talking fountain?????????
  8. Though the success is nice, what a crappy way to destroy one of (if not the) BEST themed areas, in ANY park, anywhere!!
  9. ANY other park in Japan would be far better than Cedar Pointless.
  10. 19/20 WAAAAAY to geeky!! Either that, or I'm just too old. (missed the one about the renamed Rocket for the movie Rollercoaster)
  11. Absolutely!! BUT, what do you do with witches??
  12. "Is that Jeff Johnson?" DIE!
  13. Nice pics. Robb, the wooden mouse is ONLY ONE CREDIT!! Anywho, what are the odds that they won't be coming straight home after the official tour?? I'm thinking Singapore maybe?
  14. And I won't see a freakin dime of it either!!!
  15. I believe a moderator should change the subtitle on this thread to something much more appropriate. (Elissa - DIE!!!) Please return to your KI discussions. Thank you. JJ
  16. Coasters: Eagle's Fortress Ozark Wildcat Kawasemi Boulderdash Expedition Geforce It would be called: THE park JJ
  17. I'll add my two cents here. I'm very confident in the ability of the Japanese to handle this horrific disaster, far better than any other place on the planet! Insomuch that I believe that the "search and rescue" teams coming from the USA and other countries think they'll be a great help, I believe that they'll slow things down and f**k them up!! When we had done the TPR Japan/Korea trip in 2007, we flew out of LAX knowing that a typhoon was heading for Japan. Turns out, we adjusted our trip accordingly and headed to southern Japan first, working our way back to Tokyo. One of the days we were almost stuck in Osaka(?), due to the catagory 3 typhoon hitting Tokyo head on. It affected train travel north (which is where we had to go, as we were staying in Nagoya) at one point, as all trains going north were stopped. We got lucky about an hour+(?) later, as the announcement was made that they were sending ONE train north, only to Nagoya due to the typhoon which should hit during the night. Cramming a few thousand people onto a shinkansen was fun!! Cramped, but fun! The next morning, we walked outside to see hundreds of bicycles blown over due to the heavy winds experienced in Nagoya from the typhoon in Tokyo (163 miles away). In the USA, these would be lead stories for a week or more, including the "aftermath". The lead story on the "Japan Times" (English version) the next morning was: A drunk police officer stealing a purse from a woman in the Nagoya train station and being subdued and held by 6 passers-by, until police arrived. The typhoon was the second story!! One bridge wiped out, and things were back to 85% operational, and should be back to normal by the end of the day. I saved the newspaper just for that reason, as it seemed so unbelievable to me. The Japaneese have their act together. I don't think they even know the meaning of the word "panic". And, it showed as we never felt panicked, but were more swept up in the attitude of "Disaster coming, fix it, move along". The Japanese will be just fine.
  18. I've ridden 13 of the 17 GCI's out there. The OzCat is by FAR the best of the bunch, IMO. I still have it in my top 5! Though the one at Knights Valley does look interesting. Hmmmm....
  19. Not too surprising. But... I'm sure we'll see Prowler drop a few more spaces next year as well. I am surprised to see Rampage down at #15. I guess Hades has gotten way too rough. And what's up with TdZ down at #23?? That's really puzzling. Joris en de Draak at 25?? Granted, I haven't ridden it, but that seems a bit high. And HOORAY for Anaconda!! It's finally in it's rightful place BELOW Grizzly!! JJ
