  1. That explains the a lot. On TSTO, a lot of people are complaining that they aren't 2 characters. Still torn about getting them. That's a lot of donuts, and I still want the Ferris wheel and Planet Hype for my Squidport. Though I did get Arnie Pye - he has a voice and does cool things (does traffic in helicopter, dangles on rope from helicopter, walks a dog, etc...) the helicopter does fly, much like Homer in the Santa sleigh. (Thinking out loud) Sherri and Terri could be cool, as I have a lot of donuts, and my Squidport is still a long way from having enough room for those items. In my KL, the duff building will be done in a few hours, then I just need tickets for the tooth chipper. I don't think ANYTHING in KL is worth spending donuts on. Yet. (No, I haven't seen anything about things being added to KL anytime soon, but it is anticipated, as there is so much land available) Ok. Done thinking. I'll get the twins.
  2. Just started reading thru TSTO website. Evidently it's a gag item too. If you tap on it, it disappears momentarily too! Also, Chalmers comes with different skins, so you do need to add the campfire, and the minnow pond:
  3. Bummer about the talking!! Do they at least torment people?? Just found a pic of the cubic zirconia - NOT IMPRESSED!!!! Not for 5 million anyway. The CZ is near the top of the pic.
  4. Before I really figured out that you got donuts by the rollovers, I was obsessed with making the money, collecting off of the houses (first mostly blue 3x a day, then orange 1, sometimes 2x a day). You're about the same where I was at 150-200k/day. In 6 days you have a million. Remember that looooooong wait for an update after Christmas, and the long periods between valentines, whacking day and Squidport?? Then I was all about the $$$. Now that they offer the donuts for the rollovers, I'm taking advantage of it. Btw- it looks like the cap score didn't go up again after I rolled over about 1 hour ago. (Stopped at 202,490) So I may blow another 10 mil on donuts if I'm not careful. Could be upwards of 250 more donuts. It's only been the last week that I've gone from the orange houses (24hr build) to the Kwik-e-mart (4hr build) and the donuts seem to be piling up faster. I did buy the magnifying glass, and the Popsicle tower, and they're a buttload of XP, but not worth the $$ or time (3days) involved. But at 5mil, I'm still passing on the cubic zirconia. Edited to add: beware of adding more than about 40-50 buildings at a time. Too many eats up the memory, and may cause you to crash, and most certainly causes people who visit you to have theirs crash.
  5. First off, you need a LOT of game cash. I started this with over $40mil, (currently at 31mil). I would buy about 36 Kwik-e-marts at a time. When their 4 hour build is complete, I collect the XP (about 4600, with the bonuses I've already added) then tear it down and build a new one. Before today's update, I could roll over the XP and collect 3 donuts every time (could also cost up to $100k extra if you guess wrong!) 3 to 4 times a day. They are the best way to a quick roll over on XP. They cost $20,500 each, and their selling price is $5125, and you can do it every 4 hours. The orange houses are better overall at about 5300XP, (that's with my current bonuses), and a 24hr build. Buy back is $5625. HOWEVER, after rolling over for the third time today, I noticed the the next level for the rollover has gone back to increasing by about 5-10% each time. (It was a little over 192,000 for the past 3-4 weeks. Now at 202,000+!) So I'll probably stop doing that for awhile. Another good source of XP is the weather station for $9500' and gives XP of 2342. Buy back is $2375. Also, it's an instant build, so build and sell to your hearts content, till you run out of $$$. Like I said, my bankroll has dropped from about 41mil to 31mil during this time frame. All in all - about 240 donuts.
  6. Worlds biggest zirconia - $5mil. I have over 30 mil, but no thank you. Since the XP level wasn't rolling over with a higher amount, I've been adding 9-12 donuts a day by farming quick-e-marts.
  7. Yup!! I already got the sunsphere! (3-day build) I'm thinking you need to have Wiggum free to start the tasks, only because of the requirement listed on the SWAT van. Now there's so much to do, and having the characters have tasks that cross all fields, makes it a lot better. As in, there seems to always be something to do.
  8. On the boards, it says something like random (1-5) donuts become available after all things in KL have been placed. Also, you're awarded 50 donuts after every 300 games (min approx 100 days).
  9. Yeah, I'll give you that. It was actually a really nice park. I also believe that the Gaylord family did what they believed was best for them, and you can't fault them for that. Even though we, as enthusiasts, may try to. There is also NO DOUBT that HRP, would have succeeded in Nashville. The per capita income of the region, and those of it's tourists are significantly greater than that of Myrtle Beach. (Probably would have had a major area themed to country music as well. Ugh.) Not to mention accessibility via a major airport... Believe what you want. The facts (NOT a bought and paid for study!) are: A MUCH smaller park failed to be sustained, only 3 years earlier. They barely keep the one they have open. An outlet mall (which usually draws more people and $$ than an amusement park, and has much lower overhead costs for the owners) failed on the exact same site. As a vacation destination, Myrtle Beach is known for 3 things: golfing, beaches, and cheap rentals (4 if you count the bars). It's known as an inexpensive vacation destination. It's not even a big destination for "spring break" from college. The large tourist $$ are not, and will not be spent in that part of the country. Never has. The only people that have made significant money, are the previous owners of Myrtle Beach Pavillion, who sold the land from the park to a real estate developer who had plans to make 6-7, 20-story hi-rise condos, at 80-200k per each condo. They had great intentions of bringing $$ to the area, yet there was never enough interest to start the actual buildings. I believe that they finally did start the project, on a much smaller scale. I'm not sure as I lost interest in the area. The bottom line is that the area cannot support a large amusement park, despite what the "feasibility study" said. Like I said before, and MANY others, look through the pages of this thread. It's demise was predicted by many people here on TPR, before it even opened. For the exact reasons I've already mentioned. People in that part of the country, and those that generally vacation there, do not have the same expendable income as those that vacation in the larger metropolitan areas. Money talks, but it's just not as available in Myrtle Beach.
  10. It's an interesting look at the park, but when the story gets finished, you'll still never see the real reason that the park(s) failed. No offense, but there are 257 pages before this one that very thoroughly cover that discussion. The bottom line is this (which NONE of the experts, insiders, or creators of HRP will ever admit to, because if they did - it would mean that they had an initial catastrophic misjudgment): the per capita income of residents and tourists to the area simply could not sustain a large amusement park, especially with a $50 admission. Myrtle Beach residents and tourists couldn't sustain a park 1/5 the size (that was always busy), Myrtle Beach Pavillion. Nor could they sustain an outlet shopping mall which stood vacant for years on that very site HRP was built on. They barely sustain Family Kingdom, only 3 miles away. The three most important things in business are: 1. Location 2. Location 3. Location It was built in a very BAD location. You will find in the previous 257 pages many, many predictions, before the park even opened, of the park's demise. Once it opened, and a few people here had visited, those people said "get there while you can - it won't last". We knew this, but because we don't have financial backing, or certain corporate sponsors, we "don't know what we're talking about". Yet the park failed. Twice. By people that KNOW what they are doing. They will NEVER admit that it's a bad location. Never. Remember Opryland? Smaller park. Same fate.
  11. I can get to anyone's Krustyland, but there are no tickets to collect once i get there, except from "other Springfield". I haven't visited anyone's town for any other reason since whacking day.
  12. I've been try to visit others towns with a Krustyland, but still haven't got any tickets yet from doing so. Anyone have any idea in how to do that?
  13. That was te he rumors. Best kept secret (the timing) in awhile. Cool.
  14. The opening dialog insinuates that Bart needs something fun to do, as he is bored. Rod and Todd finally show up, along with a mental hospital ($324,000), Camp Krusty (bunch of donuts), playground parallel bars ($760?) and another car (40 donuts), which is a "left handed" car of sorts. Still adds 2% to XP and $$. Probably put it at the Flanderers!! D'oh!!
  15. As Chris forgot to explain: you may have not yet maxed out on levels, currently level 31. So, if you're not at level 31 yet, every time you reach the XP goal, you go up one level, thereby unlocking things associated with that level. If you have maxed out on levels like a lot of us have, when you reach the XP goal you get a dialog box with 3 presents to choose from. The presents have either 1, 2, or 3 donuts in them. Choose one and accept what you get, OR, if you get 1 or 2 donuts, you have the option of buying a different box (@ $50,000) to try and get 3 donuts. If you don't get it, you can still buy the third box for another $50,000 (or $100,000 I forget) to get the 3 donut prize. Then you start at 0 XP again, with the next "rollover" at the previous amount plus 10-20% more. I hope that makes sense. JJSlumlord
  16. I just wiped out (sold) about 60 blue houses, 10 Krusty Burgers, 9 Gulp-N-Blows and 16 Kwik-E-Marts to make room for McBain's place, and the Gym. Eventually, later in this update I'll also combine the film set with Krustyland Studios into one complex. I've only got about 600-700 donuts from being a slumlord. I was just rolling over the XP, either by selling and rebuilding orange houses (5200+ XP/house every 24 hrs) or building/selling weather stations. ($9500 spent/2211 XP instantly/$2375 sell back). Before today's update, I was only about 100,000XP from my next rollover, at 1,320,450XP. I would then just make sure I got the 3 donuts. The rest were 2 iTunes $50 gift cards I got for working for a friend. (1800 donuts) I won't use donuts to speed anything up. I have no room for the boardwalk characters yet, so I haven't got them. (I'm still hoping for the Michael Jackson that I saw the artwork for!!) I'm still mad about tapping too fast (HAPPY they fixed that!!!!) and getting that damn blue funzo!! I'll probably get the Ferris wheel, and Planet Hype when I have space, as they look good. I usually only spend donuts on things the give % bonus, or look cool to me. Cop cars are the best value, along with the Springfield sign, Mt. Carlmore (there IS another mountain in the artwork, just don't remember who it is). I bought the Boardwalk Fountains even though they're only 2.75%, but they look cool. Somehow, I missed out on the Black Limo (40 donuts, 2% like the cop car) during the cool Moe update. Kinda miffed about that. Still hoping for a couple big $$$ items to add, as I'm now over 40mil. Loved the escalator to nowhere, but the Popsicle stick tower and the 50 ft. magnifying glass did nothing for me. (Monorail anyone?) Also, some things have started surfacing about Springfield mall, incl. the "Leftorium".
  17. Did you have Quimby free to start the dialog? After the dialog, you start building McBain's mansion. At the same time the gym becomes available. It looks like when you're finished with McBain's mansion, that will open up the film set. (Or some other quest thereafter).
  18. It gets much worse!! Here's the chart from TSTO: First 4 tiles are free. Tile 5 takes 1 hour $250 6 takes 2 hours $450 7 takes 4 hours $850 8 takes 8 hours $1700 9 takes 12 hours $2500 10 takes 16 hours $3350 11 - 15 take 24 hours $5000 (5 days) 16 - 30 take 36 hours $7,500 (22.5 days) 31 - 60 take 48 hours $10,000 (60 days) 61 - 90 take 60 hours $12,500 (75 days) 91 - 120 take 72 hours $15,000 (90 days) 121 - 151 take 84 hours $17,500 (108.5 days) It'll take 362 days to get them all. I am also at the 48hr tile build as of yesterday. Luckily(?) I have all the buildings, so the over the next couple of weeks, I'll have enough tiles to properly space them out and start decorating them properly. By then a level 32, and Krustyland should appear. It seems like the future does promise many things, many of which it appears, will be running concurrently, to keep people busy. There is also talk of new items for "Treehouse of Horrors". New is good. Content is good. Bored is really bad.
  19. Just d/l the level 31 update. New things include: Carved Ice Sculpture $2600 Radioactive Man Billboard 30 donuts Wolfcastle's Mansion with Wolfcastle (quest) All Night Gym (quest) Film Set with McBain (quest) Peeps over at TSTO seem to think that the Krustyland update is coming by the end of the month. Buildings/Characters Stuff
  20. Tonight's episode brought back some horrid memories. Ugh.
  21. A week ago I got mystery box. In there was another mystery box. In there was a third mystery box. I got a parking lot.
  22. I'm pretty sure it will be available to anyone, much like the Squidport update. So you can essentially have 3 separate zones (Squidport, Springfield, and Krustyland) to work on concurrently.
  23. There was quite a lot of thought in that dept., but I didn't look at it too closely. But the mods at TSTO seem to think along the same line. Time will tell..
  24. Not sure about the when, but there is quite a lot coming. (I get my info here)(You can also sign up for their free membership to see the parts of the forum talking about future updates.) Level 31 is coming, with Wolfcastle and his mansion, along with other characters. The App Store update yesterday was nothing more than minor bug fix issues. The updates will continue, the mod's there have targeted their best guesstimate to be July 18. However, the Krustyland update (no idea which will come first) appears to be a separate map altogether. When you see the amount of content, it's not hard to visualize. The thought is by having people visiting your park, you make more by selling/earning "tickets" (instead of $$), and the same goes for visiting other's. So far, it doesn't appear to have ANYTHING in Krustyland that has a "premium" (donut) value placed on them. It will kinda be like Squidport, in that it is permanent, just a separate map, probably using a gate as a portal to a new screen.. It has listed as having 41 tasks that need to be completed for the entire rebuild (remember - Homer blew everything up) of KL. it's believed that this will be the incentive to make this a more "social" game. By having your characters doing tasks in Krustyland, they can't be doing them in Springfield. There is dialog in the files to support that. That would make each level, in theory, take more time, as you may need one character in both places, with specific characters free, etc.... So, it looks like an interesting mix/merge is coming. One can only hope at this point.
  25. Nice slums! BUT, time to upgrade the brown houses for blue. Much more $$$$, and isn't that what being a slumlord is all about?
