Like I haven't "borrowed" enough ideas from you?
-
I started the Nighthawk Diner this morning. I guess I need to go look at your town again, because I have plenty of space still (I think about 30-40% of my town is still slums.) And, with the addition of the beaches, I've made a cheap beachfront resort, reminiscent of Myrtle Beach (from the Hard Rock thread), with a fireworks barge. I just hope that when Krustyland comes, it won't fail as well. My version of Myrtle Beach.

Ok - I got an automatic update this morning, fairly large (105mb). Is this the update I was talking about? I didn't notice anything different, except that there are 4 new items in the build menu, which I can't find. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I have all my peeps on 12hr tasks. Can anyone confirm/deny the update?

^ I have to agree with everything that Joey said. BUT.... Joey got me to thinking, and I decided to do a little research on when, etc... the next update was coming. Apparently, the general consensus from the various boards (EA, TSTO) (i.e. people that are in the know) is the next update, level 31, could come out any minute. Probably tomorrow. It's set to include Wolfcastle, and his mansion (among other things). McBain is also mentioned in the raw files dialogs, but no proof of him - though most expect him to be there, with the other characters dialog being the proof. Most of what I've read about Squidport, is the same complaints that we have here. The best explanation is that Squidport, though unique, is basically just a game board expansion. Almost like a secondary town, to work on at your leisure, in between other levels and updates. That's why it was so huge (content wise). Now for the GREAT NEWS! Looks like Krystyland is coming: (Possibly level 32) Krustyland Notice that the "Tooth Chipper" IS in there!!!! Though *I* imagine that it would be akin to the Squidport update, and a game board expansion as well. I do kinda hope that that isn't the case. Hopefully, gameplay will be encouraged once again, as I do like this game, especially since I have limited artistic skills. JJ

Yeah. Their FB page (or somewhere else, I don't remember) mentioned they would be doing this as a one time only thing, having to do with underage, or unsupervised children playing. No big deal.
-
When that's done, then you have 20 peeps dine at The Frying Dutchman for 8hrs. (I had all but 1 of the peeps in there. For some reason, Herman didn't have the prompt.) Then Homer and CBG pig out there for 36hrs. That's where I am now. I too, will admit that this update is a bit of a bore, due to the time constraints. Been checking the EA boards - apparently, to complete the boardwalk takes (minimum) 305 days. (That's w/o spending any donuts). In the grand scheme, there are quite a lot of people who aren't maxed out, like some of us (the ones getting bored) are. So, those people have plenty to do. Us (the bored ones) can just basically pile up $$ and XP. (My next rollover is 723,000+ XP) I'm kind of optimistic about all of this. Some of us wanted expansion, so that we had new things to do and build. Well, we got it (though I'll admit 30% of my Springfield is still slums). I'm thinking in the long run, Krustyland could be a similar expansion - expanded game board, land specific buildings (& rides), decor, etc... The optimism lies in the hope that next update (if time lines remain consistent) comes in 2-4 weeks, which would include new character(s), buildings, tasks and decorations. Tasks for Wolfcastle was in the early raw files of Squidport, so that is a possibility. Then, we'd be in a bind deciding which things to do first, and which things we can do concurrently. So, I'm still holding out hope (and stockpiling buttloads of $$$!).

Ok. So the adding of boardwalk pieces taps out at 24hrs and $5000 each. Also, I bought the human statue. He's pretty cool.
-
Very true. So far the pieces have been built in, 1,2,4 and I'm now nearing the end of an 8-hr build. I did notice that the price also went up, but not specific prices. I've now got the Houseboat, and it came with the Sea Captain. He did not cost any donuts as possibly reported on the EA boards. EDIT - My next piece of "Boardwalk" costs $2500, and is a 12-hr build. I haven't unlocked anything else. So far, Seaport looks good, but I have a feeling unlocking everything could take awhile. I guess that's good, as it would encourage game play. Time will tell.
-
Good to know. I only d/l the update and saw the homer (et. al.) dialogue. Also bought up all the land and water (had over $35mil) Will start looking at it closer tonight. I guess starting with build Squidport entrance.
-
Cool!! I just got my 3 donuts about 20 minutes ago, and I only have moleman on a task. Time to check it out. (This really interferes with my ability to get work done, ya know?)
-
Same here. My consumerism dropped to 2.5 stars, and gluttony to 3.5. I think I have all the premium bldgs (at least since I started playing in November), and 3 of each: Quickee Mart, Gulp 'n Blow, and Krusty's. I bought one more of each of those, hoping it helps. I'm guessing that it may now be based on a ratio of houses to stores. Since I have my housing farms (sorry, but I love the $$$$) it may take a few more. Have to wait and see. I haven't started any new tasks since all my peeps are on 24hr tasks till morning. Besides, with the long lag times in between updates, I'm in no real hurry. Hopefully, when Squidport comes, that will all change. Like Derek said, bring on Krustyland and the Tooth Chipper!!!! I still think there needs to be some incentive to visit others towns. (Like Christmas ans Whacking Day), but I think that would be mid summer before we'd see something like that again. I also bought a mini-nuke, several bomb shelters and the community center (with Jasper). Now all my $ and XP payouts are over 200% of the posted amounts. Yay me! (Yes, I really need to get a life!)

Favorite Defunct Roller Coaster/Ride
OldJJman replied to GrapesLie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't believe I didn't post in this thread. As for defunct rides: Kong at USO. Cheesy but cool. Luckily the Movie ride at Phantasialand is still alive. Wooden Coasters: I had some great rides on the Texas Giant in the rain. Haven't ridden NTAG yet. No doubt though - OzCat was an awesome ride. Greatly Missed. Steel - They come and go. Some bad, some good. Most are mediocre. Then there was Eagles Fortress. Would probably still rank #1 with me if it was still open. I'll never forget the first ride (at night) during ERT that Everland had given us. We figured one or two courtesy rides (to show our gratitude to the park) and we'd be done. After the first ride, we came back into the station and Elissa was holding a very small KT. She couldn't believe how we were RAVING about it. She thought we were BS'ing her. When NO ONE got off and rerode, she thought we were taking the joke a little too far. When we came back again, I got off to hold KT while Elissa rode. The rest is history. Best ERT ever!! The ride was supposed to be torn down later that year, as T-Express would be opening. Due to the subsequent ranking in Mitch's poll (Which the parks management really noticed), the ride remained open another year or two. Fortunately, we went back the following year to prove to others how great it truly was. Awesome ride, but tearing it down was inevitable. It was literally tearing itself apart. But it was one incredible ride!! -
New (kinda) update just downloaded. Gil is back having a donut sale. 25% off all donuts. Looks like this will last about 4 days ( time left posted under the sale items). My guess is that this season 24 "yard sale" has been kind of a flop for EA, as there were so many premium items to buy, so they're probably just lowering the price to make a few extra $$$. I still don't expect another major update (looks pretty much like it will be Squidport) for at least 2 weeks. (I'm guessing June 6) Also, without new tasks, I'm getting pretty bored. Everybody doing 24hr tasks etc... Back over 27million dollars. BRING ON SQUIDPORT!!!!!!
-
I think I just found out about what you're talking about. Is it Squidport?
-
DT - I have 525+. Be stopping there shortly.
-
Just d/l update. Things I noticed: Whacking day promo is still in effect. New buildings: Skinner's House (includes his mom) - tasks Open Air Stage - 160 donuts. (No XP or % - used for tasks) Sprawl-Mart - 90 donuts (another premium bldg pays cash and xp every 12hrs) New decorations: Springfield Park Entrance Cobblestone wall

Just gave her the "Pac-Man" treatment with the 100 I had. I was thinking about this more and more as it got later in the day. Possible reasons? They couldn't make their own deadlines. Apple didn't approve it. My biggest thought though was that they were greedy. Since you could use donuts to speed up the buildings (and/or in this case, purchase snakes) they announced an event termination date, on a fairly difficult challenge. (Admit it, w/o some people buying extra logs, tree stumps etc. it would have been nearly impossible to get everything AND help out friends) that people would panic on deadline day, and purchase extra donuts to complete all of the awards. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. JJ

Another 40 for Shawn.
-
^Heading over now.
-
Someone dropped off 438 eggs last night. Unfortunately, I don't need them (I'm well over 28,000 snakes). Anyway, who can use about 175+ eggs now, before the update hits today?
-
Does anyone know how to get the limo? I've seen it in a few towns, and one of the jobs for "respectable Moe" has something to do with it.
-
Just dropped ~ 575 to Eric. It crashed once, so might have lost 20 or so.
-
^ Chris - keep playing so you can send out eggs to those who still need them. Btw - I'll have over 500 to drop off tonight to those in need. KT, Eric...?
