I saw that. I agree, especially after seeing Elissa's escalator. So I started mine last night. I figured that with at least 22 days till the next update, I should be well over 1.5 million again, so I should be ready for whatever shows up.

^When I went past the max XP the first time, it gave me a 3 doughnuts and $50,000. Then reset to 0 XP. I'm up to about 78,000 now. I'm thinking that its just another stall tactic, as long as they give doughnuts away.

^Ah. Ok. The restaurant was that fusion fancy schmancy chemical one. For some reason I thought it was a chem lab. Makes sense (now that I remember seeing the episode!). Right now, I'm about 1/2 done redesigning my Springfield. Spent about 400k by adding nicer houses, so I won't have slums anymore. Sitting on 1.2 million, and I've made space for the escalator (behind Cleteus' farm if you look. Put all the trash there for now.) But I want to have more substantial amounts of $$ before I build it. Also dropped my first real $20 (everything else was gift cards) so I could get Shauna, (and when my redesign gets to that point) Burns limo and an ambulance. Sitting on about 360 hearts too. Hope they'll be worth something.

That would be nice, but I bet it will be like Christmas. I kind of doubt it now (see below), but I'll be collecting them just in case. From the one EA forum: New Features: 1. "Scratch R" mini-game: Scratch-Off cards at the Kwik-E Mart (every 6 hours - every card wins at least $100 profit!) 2. The "Friends' Bonus Glitch" is GONE 3. If you have reached the MAX level, you now keep earning XP and earn donuts for "Bonus Levels." I am so looking forward to seeing what this looks like (as well as the elevator)!!!

I don't think so. I think that will wait for a major update. Mine was reset too, but I've already racked up 61,000 xp (about 1/2 way) on this current "level".

I'd agree with the random idea, for now. It does seem a bit odd though. I suspect we'll see some kind of pattern emerge after a few more days go by. Just wondering though - How many have already used as many hearts as you can? I only have two buildings (Phineas Butterfat's and Howard's Flowers) left. I already bought the mini-golf. The only thing left of the quest queue is the Choo-Choo Train - so I'm assuming that after that, it will unlock the Wiggum's House, and Elissa's pet, Ralph. I mean, now that I can access about 85 out of 99 other Springfield's, the hearts come pretty fast. Especially when friends visit my town. They said that this will only last til the end of February, so I guess that's a good thing for me. I should be building the Burns manor by the end of today, so I can continue working of beautifying/rearranging (for lack of a better terms) my Springfield, and then start stockpiling money for the escalator and skyscraper. By that time, I would hope to also have the Wiggum's house and the chem lab (?) as well. Then I guess I'll be ready for the next update.

I finally got into my 4th town, and got 3 hearts!!! It was Derek.

I like the fact that they've added some really high price things. It encourages daily play to add up the $$$. In my scratcher today I got $10,000. I can only visit 4 towns, out of 99, and no one on here. So I only have 3 hearts so far. Ugh.

I love how pretty much all of us were bitching about things this morning (except Elissa, who was happy to get a tree!) now we're all going goo-goo gaga over this new (not quite working) update. Me? I just started building the hospital. I'll update tonight.

Today's mystery box - A MYSTERY BOX!! In that mystery box - $1000. Whoop-ti-effing-do!

I just blew a wad of cash on land (about 500k) so I can redesign a better looking town. I've also decided to follow the EA forum guideline to get things built (Found here), so I can be caught up to others when the next update arrives. Tomorrow is my next mystery box. My last one was another angel topiary. I fully expect a parking lot!

Has ANYONE determined why this game is so stupidly addicting??

^I had no problems, and that was 30 minutes ago. Not even a hiccup. EDIT: Was the "Springfield Super Collider" part of the Halloween stuff?

FINALLY!! I got the order from Quimby to rebuild Channel 6!! The timing is about right too. I didn't need to change back to Homer from Mr.Plow. So it's getting near time to expand and build real neighborhoods, instead of the money making slums. But, I think I'll just incorporate all the current houses I have with a bunch of others, so the cash flow will actually increase. And, with no timeline (or announcement) for an update yet (though I'm still thinking Valentine's Day), I can also still work on those last 3 buildings. For those that have it - is Mr. Burns Mansion one full square? It looks like it to me in some of the other peeps towns. One guy even made it a total of 3 squares (I think) with a long driveway. Looks like what I want to do.

I have several times. Usually all of my characters are free at least twice daily, and I do get the dialog boxes. I think it has a lot to do with the "Mr.Plow" character. I figure once I hit 2 million I leave him as Homer for awhile. (About 3 more days - making about $110,000/day right now)

^ I'm enjoying piling up the cash (1.7mil+) BUT, I'm doing ALL the tasks asked of me, and still haven't got the quests for the last 4 buildings (Ch. 6, Dr. Hibbert's office, hospital, and Burns mansion) Kinda pissing me off. Then again, it may be because I'm keeping "Mr. Plow" active ( for 150% $$), but it has had me do a couple of tasks for Homer (which I did) and still no new buildings in 9 days now. I guess greed has its drawbacks.

Too damn funny!!!

I've decided it's worth it! When the game added level 25, it made my XP 35,000. At that time I had just a hair over a million dollars. I bought the new restaurant "Pimento Grove" for $168,000 (IIRC). If you look at my Springfield, I started rearranging everything, and making it look nicer. I probably spent another 50,000+ on trees, benches etc... In the 3 days since, I'm now well over 1.1 million, and maxed out at 105,000XP. BUT, with Homer doing the Mr. Plow stuff, I have a feeling it will take me longer to get the last 4 bldgs (Ch. 6, Hibbert family practice, hospital and Burns mansion). But I think the extra $$ is definitely worth it, as the land is getting expensive. I think my cheapest available parcel is now $33,000! As far as the NEXT update goes: Anyone thinking Valentines Day? Visit your neighbors and collect Valentines?

^ I guess I'll find out. I also noticed a new building besides the one you mentioned: Mr. Burns mansion, and it comes with Mr. Smithers!! (I just started the Crabapple apts, so I still have a way to go. Mr. Burns car is also available, but I think that costs more doughnuts, so that will wait.

One of the new thing available is Homer as "Mr. Plow". It gives 150% on all jobs and XP! Exchanging those doughnuts will pay off, as he's 90 doughnuts. I think the extra $ and XP are well worth it!!

Well, sometime in the last 20 minutes (5:40pm PST) the coins disappeared. I see no other changes whatsoever. Anyone else notice anything different?
