  1. With only 1 picture of me, this Photo Trip Report lacks much quality. And no sideboob shots from Vegas either?! I am very disappointed in you, Joe. File this report until L for LAME!
  2. Hoffman Girl has nothing to worry about...at least until she turns 21. As for me, I'm going into hiding now, and I'm taking my beer with me! I ain't messing with Bob Hoffman, he could end up sicking Ryan on me...or worse, dropping Ryan off at my house!
  3. No one wants to hear about your boyfriend. We want pictures of you, in a bikini at the waterpark! Glad to see you had fun, despite large Big Foot like creatures. And hooray for Paul getting the soda machine to work!
  4. So anyone who saw my TPR UK release party pictures on the roller coaster forum know that Hoffman Girl's Dad is trying to hunt me down. Until this thing blows over, I guess I'll be traveling a lot. But don't worry, I'm taking my beers with me (and my laptop and camera too!). Of course, with increased security measures, I can't fly, so I gotta find some other way to elude Mr. Hoffman, like boat or something! Here's my first hiding spot! Well, its not really summer here, but at least my beer is cold and Hoffman dad will have to work hard to find me! My new friends are curious to try the Victory 10th Anniversary Alt
  5. I didn't smell anything out of the ordinary at the Alvey home. Cept for maybe the smell given off from blank DVDs and the such. Smells much better than my current hiding spot, that's for sure! But I gotta stay clear of the rampaging Hoffman Girl's dad!
  6. I lied, there were a few more pictures, but we'll only give every poster a 24 minute ban instead. But this is the last of them. For those of you who couldn't decide if you wanted to come to an Alvey party, this should change your mind. Oh, and bring your bathing suit! (and a shower curtain too if you want privacy!) With Hoffman girl in the shower, all Ryan can think about is pounding her I hope this picture doesn't get me into too much trouble with the Mrs (or the police, or Bob Hoffman)! My god my butt sticks out, its like a table Something tells me the next Alvey party will have more attendees than the 2006 ACE Con after seeing this photo.
  7. Last night was the TPR UK video release party. While it may be no Du Claw, it was still off the hinges, and I was in charge of picking up the brews! Next I'll have to go back to the Stone Pale Ale, as the IPAs are all gone. Later on I'd have a Sam Adams and a Sam Summer, but I didn't take pictures of those Why not have another Stone IPA, Derek? Elissa shouldn't be drinking, she's got a party to run. So I'll enjoy this Stone IPA for her JimmyBo and djlurch enjoy the stuff too! And quickly follow it up with a Stone IPA We'll start out with a Stone Pale Ale
  8. Onto the party! As I said, this was my first TPR party, but it won't be the last! Everything from the food, the drinks, the entertainment, and the people made for one of the most fun parties you could possibly hope to have without someone being thrown in jail. Robb and Elissa sure know how to throw a party, thanks a bundle you two! NOTE: This is the final update. You may post replies now. And the night concludes with some pool fun, starting with Ryan getting tossed in by Casey Both of us are injured, but feel no pain. Derek, duck and cover! Casey isn't happy that I outscored him in the trivia contest. Casey, tackle Derek! Jeff took a nap in the afternoon so he was able to stay up past 7pm to hang out with us. Here he is before he spills his dippin dots For doing so bad at the trivia contest, Guy's prize was a licking from me When people are this in depth in your video, you know its a hit! With the lighting, sound, stage, and film specialists in the area, it was easy getting nice profressional equipment Everyone prepares for the release of volume 8, the UK trip The wings are always a big hit. So big in fact that I didn't even manage to get any! Wing master Alvey prepares his beer soaked wings in Fire and Ice sauce Some of the people from the UK trip enjoy some laughs about the trip while waiting for the movie to start Finally I put down my beer long enough to enjoy the ravioli and other goods Dan is wondering if Elissa and Jahan conspired to sneak sugar into his pasta Everyone enjoys the Italian spread, and some adults really liked the "meant for the kids" pizza The major food is served. But I'm too busy with my beers You wanna see our WHAT?! Your grillz, ya ya your grillz Dan and Kristen console each other after Guy calls them Jewish The jews and diabetics know that the best kind of food is in the kitchen, FREE! Ryan takes time out of pounding it to pass out party favors Things start to pick up a little Casey was content with one of his fangirls, and who wouldn't be! John was forced to keep his camera at home. And OMG Dan has a chick!? I was in charge of beverages, and it looks like the over 21 crew is pleased with my selections. Not shown are Sam Adams and Sam Adams Summer Ale As 6:00 rolls around, the help finishes setting up the party room
  9. More from the Mountain: As our onride shows, Tatsu really enhances the atmosphere at SFMM With Flash Passes left, we decided to ride Tatsu one more time. 50 minutes later we actually rode Ooooh, the newer prettier mountainside Thru the looping glass, you can see pain and agony awaiting But without this ride, I may not have my lovely vertical loops Ooooh, Anton thru the trees Loving the restraints, Chris would rather hang himself. Evan just prepares for a beating Next, the ACEr in all of us pay respect to some random thing that used to deserve respect Follow the ketchup! Proof that Casey is equal to 3 children across And he's thrilled! But he can get Canyon Blaster! Even begging won't help Casey get the coaster that eludes us all Next, Casey vs Goliath Jr More TPRers and signature moves galore! Joe wonders "where is the nearest filing cabinet?" Going into the helix of extreme blackouts and death, you can see Colossus going up its I beam lift First drop goodness. Only Casey was scared to put his hands up Casey, not so much legroom Here's some more of the Hoffman girl and friends. The Hoffman Girl's dad shows us how much legroom he has So the rest of us decide to eat some expensive food that won't really fill us up Finally Robb announces that he has really bad bowel activities and needs to go home before he has some seepage Chris liked it so much, he refuses to leave until he can ride it again Those ever so wonderful Morgan trains Here we have Colossus ... and a coaster Oooh, purdy skyline (much nicer than Fresno's) Yeah, I'm a cobra roll in a parking lot. Wanna fight about it?! Yes! Looking up the skirt of the vertical loop. BRB!! Mmmm, Vertical loop goodness, can it get any better? Next up, Scream! AHHHHHH!!
  10. Never having been to one of the Alvey's infamous parties, after I determined that my schedule was free that weekend and airfare wasn't too attrocious, I decided to go out. Of course, with no vacation days, it meant flying across the country for just the weekend, but I'm young (in Jeff Johnson's eyes) so I can deal. The first stop was SFMM, possibly a future parking lot. I still had not yet ridden the new for 2006 Tatsu, as well as Deja Vu (good luck!) and I was interested in finally getting to go up the Sky Tower. We were expecting really bad stuff for a Saturday, but thanks to Elissa's planning and Robb's leading, we managed to make it all around the park before 1pm, only having 1 or 2 train waits on most rides. This was accomplished thanks to everyone in the world going to Tatsu, us running there ahead of everyone, and the overall sluggishness of the Tatsu crew. Because of that, we managed to make a nice loop around the back of the park before I was put in charge of the group. Ryan shows off his battle damage We may never get this chance again, so "Casey, tackle Ryan on the Sky Tower!" Deja Vu and the oldest ride at the park, Psyclone?! Ooooh, aerial shot of Ninja, the last ride to utilize the mountain before Taty The Tower offers some really great views of the coasters at the park At the Arrow Display, you can almost feel the pain just by looking at it Everyone is amazed at the opening of the tower again finally Tatsu looks purdy, but its got a line, and the Sky Tower is opened. This really is alternate universe Magic Mountain We assume the proper riding position to sit in the front Just then we saw and heard Superman testing with people, so we hightailed it up the mountain. OMG its the elusive left side too! Still intense and buttloads of fun, Batman was next on the agenda Riddler's crew was actually pretty quick today (compared to Tatsu) and there was no stacking Hello Vertical Loop. How are you today? Elissa decided to sit this one out and go see Jahan instead Next up was Riddler's Revenge, also walk on Deja Vu was actually opened, and had no wait at opening! Finally I got the American Trio, after like 7 attempts at SFMMs By popular demand, here's the Hoffman girl on loan from Fresno My favorite of the flying coasters because it actually does some stuff and still has lots of inversions After 1 ride, the rest of the GP show up, making a quick reride impossible Pretzel loop goodness can only be better if its dipped in butter No one is here yet because they took the long route After running like fools, we were the first ones on Tatsu. Joe didn't even vomit this time! Finally Bugs and his camel toe came out and let us in To entertain guests while the park waited for Bugs to come out and open the gates, the staff pretended they were at a wedding with the Cha Cha Slide Brushed off from his tackling, Ryan starts the poundings CASEY! Tackle Ryan! The morning starts to shape up and things get in order. Such as... Early enough there wasn't a bad lineup to get into the park Nothing we weren't expecting to be down. Here we are, the future site of asphault SFMM was actually running 2 trams in the morning. Everyone was shocked! Some of the coasters we'd be riding The day starts off with Ryan putting on his signature outfit at the Alvey home
  11. After making it to LA, the refugees of Camp Alvey all needed some food, so off to Elephant Bar we went! I had a nice tall Sam Adams. And didn't even bother taking pictures of anyone else, since I only had my camera phone with me at the time
  12. Its Friday night, so guess where I am....at the Philly airport, of course! This time I'm flying out to LAX, but once again, I'll start my trip with some HopDevil. As long as they have it on tap, HopDevil is my choice My Friday hangout, Independence Brewings PHL location
  13. Nice work, dude! That one deserves a double pound it!
  14. Agreed, as much as both coasters (El Toro and Voyage) are incredible, and my Holiwood Nights ERT rides on Voyage were some amazing moments (and probably one of the greatest coaster experiences) I shouldn't have to ride a coaster at night, or right after it rains, or during a solar eclipse on the summer solstice to have a great ride. I still prefer Voyage to El Toro, but that's in part due to the problems with the ride as well as the duller finish on Toro. Still, my 10:30am rides on Balder were more fun and just as much airtime as on Voyage up until the night time ERTs. And that is what matters most to me in my rankings. I'm just so content knowing that there are really amazing wood coasters coming out again, and I'd never had thought I'd have 3 new top 5 woodies all within a month of each other!
  15. Since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I'd check in on Tom! Finally, 9pm comes around and I have to spank Jake to get him back home so he can tuck the family in and then pass out And with such lovely weather, its no wonder he hangs out on the patio drinking great beers all summer long Tom gives me another 60 Minute IPA, prolonging my drive home by 60 Minutes Crazy Jake sports the new cueball look with his Victory Hotdog Water wheat Its always good to stop off and see Tom Of course, with Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA on tap, who has time to post to the beer thread! He;s still alive folks, just spending his time working on his car
  16. Late night entry for me, but its been a late night! On a whim I decided to head to Bethlehem Brew Works for my free Hops Explosion IPA. Here's the update! Yup, that's right! If it can do this to your hand, just think what it can do to your face The mainstay at BBW is the bathroom, home of an Xlerator Next up, the Monkey Wrench, a Belgian Pale Ale, whatever that is. Still good stuff though! Somewhat sweet beginning, hoppy middle, and malty finish Check out all that balsamic, Robb Alvey! For dinner I'll try the new Tomato Mozzarella Salad But since he's from Pyramid, Beau knows a good IPA. Nice and smooth with a nice hoppy citrus finish First up, my giant mug of Hops Explosion IPA, something the new brewer hasn't tried yet Here I am, at the Brew Works, just because
  17. I don't know how much information you'll be able to find out, but when planning my original Germany fair trip I used this to get the dates a year in advance. Funfair. It just takes a bit of deciphering between finding your language, or babelfishing, as well as knowing what rides you should expect where.
  18. Italian Job Stunt Track at PKI on Sunday. Only the onride sounds and lights weren't working, everything else was!
  19. Tonight I also went with the stout approach, back to the Victory Storm King. Both hops and stoutness, nice! Still tastes great Haven't had one of these in a while
  20. Yesterday I went with another IPA, Lost Coast's Indica after a long day of working and mowing. Kinda made me miss Three Floyd's though. No coughing hops this round So good, and unfiltered!
  21. If they reopen the coaster, I'm totally there next year on the Dollywood trip. Plus I can stop off and visit the Bat Cave. BONUS!
  22. So far the trip was successful. Heath and Kim got all their needed credits, but there was still one missing for me, Italian Job at PKI. Since we all have passes, we figured "why not?" Beisdes, we had a great trip thus far, it should be entertaining if PKI ruins it for us! This one's for you, fellow BACTers, for a whoring weekend well done! We made it back to the airport in plenty of time. So I think I'll have a beer (cause I need a reason, I guess) Mission complete, now back to the airport! "Pound it!" After inhaling my 3 way, its time to enjoy the Skyline Chili Cheese dog Heath gets ready to scarf down his 5 way Watching them make our stuff right before our eyes Bonus food #2, Skyline Chili Surprisingly, PKI wasn't too bad, even for a Sunday! Next time I see this sign, the Paramount will probably be gone This one's for you, Super Scooby-Goliath Batflame. Now do the batoosie! Not quite sure why at PKI its a kiddie ride and at PGA its a thrill ride, but here's the new Disko coaster-type Avatar A new Zamperla kite flyer themed to Danny Phantom. Betcha guys wish you had your flying scooters instead! The newly themed kiddie area Son of Beast, its histerical! The Beast, its historic Two Jobs down, one to go! Credit whoring accomplished! Not quite as good as a vertical loop, but I loves me a water splash too Surprisingly the ride had 3 trains running, the line moved fast, and we were on and off in less than 40 minutes Must....get....to....credit! Always the whores, we head back to PKI, a park I loathe
  23. 3 parks down, 2 to go. Next stop, the Cincinnati Mills Mall, home of the FEC, Wonderpark, and its Miler kiddie. So Heath and Kim pound it and off we went! Cha ching! Pacman dude in the helix says "if you wanna ride, you gotta pound it" And there's the coaster! No! There's a little FEC like Jeepers here! Why the heck did we stop at the mall on a coaster trip? Do we need a new camera or some film?
  24. After our brief stop at Coney, it was finally time to get to the main reason for the entire trip, Stricker's Grove was opened to the public today! So back in the car we go and where we stop, there's wood coasters to ride! The Strickers staff knows how to grill, too bad we can't stay to eat, that corn looked good! Kim gets a little greedy with her free soft drink quota though Heath enjoys his cheap ice cream and free soda Too bad we ran out of time, these teacup sorta things looked fun and we can't forget about the flyers! And the return run A very familiar view from the lift While in line for Tornado, we ran into our old friend Batflame, now sporting Scooby theming from his earlier visit to PKI With a nice paint job and a fun out and back layout, Tornado was pretty cool Next up, Tornado. The adult woodie With a tight schedule, Heath even squeezes into the seat so he doesn't have to wait for another cycle A nice junior woodie as much fun for the little ones as us grown ups But the main draw for us was the coasters. Two woodies like the inhouse built Teddy Bear And a little Ferris Wheel located in the trees Classic rides like a Jr turtle Strickers is mainly a park bought out for company picnics and stuff, but they've got rides Tornado greets you as you find yourself in the middle of a field
  25. Next on the agenda was Coney Island. What used to be the icon park for the Ohio area is now a shell of its former self. With very few rides, only 1 coaster, and a bad location for flooding on the Ohio River, the biggest draw is still the pool. Its always cool when a park likes to show off its history. Coney looks like it used to be amazing It must have made him a little loopy, as he decided to dance with a pig Heath braces for impact at the end of the ride. Cha ching! Ah, the Pepsi Python, a coaster I missed when it was at Wildwood The pool was really crowded No, that's not the Wildcat. Its a water slide that I guess Jeff could count, seeing how it looks like a woodie So in south Cincinnati you'll find Coney Island. Well known for the Wildcat
