Six Flags Price Increases
ParkTrips replied to GAcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFOG passes were $49 up through Jan. 1 I'd bet by the end of the month all SF parks will jump $15-20 I bought a pass @ Great Adv. last May for $85 -
Are you going to Cedar Point again this year? I'd like to go back 'cause I really want to love the place and still have tons to do (5 credits, tons of flats)

Your 2005 Year In Review!
ParkTrips replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
--Your 2005 year in review: Lots of new coasters, new friends, great times. --Your first coaster of the year: Revenge of the Mummy, January 4 --Your last coaster of the year: Top Gun The Jet Coaster, December 10 --Best new steel to me: Apollo's Chariot - Busch Gardens Williamsburg --Best new wood to me: Boulder Dash - Lake Compounce --Best new flat ride to me: Bumper Cars - Hoffmans Playland --Best new water ride to me: Ripsaw Falls (believe it or not January was the first time I rode!) --Best new dark ride/walk through to me: Haunted Mansion - Knoebels --Best new water park attraction to me: Tornado - Six Flags Darien Lake/New England --Best new park to me: --Best park "moment" of the year: "Where are the seatbelts?" --Best overall park "trip" of the year: Tough. Me and my two best friends living it up at Universal for half a week in Jan., or the summer road trip through Jersey and Eastern PA... --Worst new attraction (any kind) to me of the year: TOGO pain machines at Canada's Wonderland and Kings Dominion --Best event at a park: ACE Day at The Lake - July 23 --Best non-event day at a park: Hershey - May 21(?) - we just had a blast at one of our favorite parks --Best non-park related moment of the year: Nothing really big happened to me this year I guess just living through 05 healthy and happy with my girlfriend is the best thing for me --Favorite TPR post/thread of the year: Wes' post regarding the "where is Allisony2k" thread that got censored --Best Amusement related news of the year: Red Zone. --Worst Amusement related news of the year: Bonehead call to close Astroworld --Ride that I had to rethink my opinion of in 2005: Great American Scream Machine @ SFOG - I used to love the thing but it really sucked this year Same with Hurricane @ MBP, I got lucky with a fairly smooth ride on my first visit but this summer it was unbearable. Then again, I DID ride in the back compared to the front :-/ Montu also, it used to be my fav. Invert but in October it wasn't running as well as it did back in the day. Jet Coaster has definately passed it though. --Hopes for 2006: Great weather for June's UK trip Meet even more cool people Fulfill all of my plans Continue a streak of great days at parks. I only had one or two "bad" days at parks last season, out of about 40-50 days spent in theme parks. Pass 250 - with the UK trip supposedly having 80 or so, that will be easy. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

I'd go, but that red background made me decide against it Something tells me that will be an enthusiass filled event. I think I'll pass. Sounds fairly good though... -

SFMM Mark Shapiro meeting for employees
ParkTrips replied to wrs28330's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree! By the way what was that, 10 minutes ago you went to bed? Man you need some stamina work! -
ACE Spring fling I'll be there, I've got two (maybe 3) friends coming down from the Mid Atlantic to tag along and maybe even my girlfriend with me. Man that will be a hell of a week! Unfortunately I don't really care for the huge events and they are hoping for 300 so it may be a bit too busy... but that won't keep me from having a blast!

It's probably easy to say that when you "bomb" them and your school doesn't require them. I know my girlfriend says the same thing and how shw hates the damned things, when her ~900 was the difference between her going to an excellent school and just a fairly good one. In the end, it doesn't really matter too much, but it can sway close calls and is therefor fairly imporant syill. Kinda like class ranking when you graduate.

NEWS: Fire At Astroworld
ParkTrips replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sloppy copy editing...gotta love it EDIT: OMG I just realized that it was called "Greased Lightning" through the whole article instead of "Greezed Lightnin'" which was it's proper name. Wow...and people wonder why I am ashamed to have a journalism degree!!! Sickening. -Julie Too bad hardly anyone really gives a f*** -
My angry letter to Universal Orlando
ParkTrips replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LOL Since the other two FLA schools got beat - Isn't it great to be a Florida Gator? Don't even mention Tech though This thread just goes to show that even the best of parks can have sour apples... among other things... -
Isn't it great to get shitfaced on occasion? Thanks Lou, nice to hear your new years DAY was good too

Cool stuff!! I had fun at Moody Gardens when we went probably 5 years ago... one of their simulators was of a roller coaster too (bonus!). Thanks for the Schlitterbahn and Kemah pics too! 8) I've done that at SW in San Diego 8) -
Are they REALLY that better? I've been thinking about picking up one for my camera but have been very hesitant since I usually gett pretty good pics out of my stock lens...

East Coast Park Questions
ParkTrips replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
.. and since Lake compounce is about 3-4 times as much that makes it even more appealing to me.. Q-bot: http://lo-qusa.com/ Waterparks (from my knowledge) Darien Lake - pretty good, could use some more size (next year..?) New England - very good in-park waterpark. A few modern additions and a very nice and clean atmosphere MFI - a joke. Probably two or three slides and a wave pool. Their Log Flume, however, looks pathetic but everyone I saw getting off was SOAKED so look into that.. Great Adventure will need a day. If you do La Ronde you will need a day partially because of the transit issues (its kinda out of the way) Darien Lake - could be done in the same day as Martin's Fantasy Island. If you arrive at opening you can do all the coasters before noon, enjoy the waterpark or flats in the afternoon and drive over to MFI (30-45 mins) at 5PM and get their cheap deal. It can easily be done in an evening. If you want to space things out a bit more, plan a day at Darien Lake and then visit the Niagara Falls area in the AM/early afternoon on the next day and then visit Martin's after 5 that evening. Martin's is like 20 minutes from the niagara Falls park. Canada's Wonderland - all day if you want to do most of the park. Make sure to check out their flats if you care to, there are some really neat ones up there That's all I can help you with... -
OMG roeterich didn't Wonka tell you NOT to eat the gum!!!

Which is Better… Satellite or Cable?
ParkTrips replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
You stole me thunder. Neither matters to me (I have had experience with both) but tis DVR service that is the shizznit I've also never really had issues with rain and such, only during major thunderstorms and then the cable and electircity would generally go out too, so it was no big loss either way! The one thing that satellite has a huge advantage in is Sunday Ticket. It's the only reason I have a DirecTV dish. Then again, Comcast has some great intenet service (at least compared to the other crap available in my 'hood - I hated Bell South DSL ) -
I say f*** it I'm gonne keep rockin my intellivision 8)
