Photo TR's: JordyC's Theme Park Adventures
larrygator replied to JordyC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for a recent PTR from this park. You are right, they certainly need a new coaster. When TPR visited over 10 years ago the Sky Loop (Abismo) was a new experience and Tarantula was one of the earlier spinners. The kids rides look very nice and it sounds like the water rides are still running well. -
After riding Mine Blower and Invadr last week I am down to seven remaining. Quite frankly, I don't ever expect to ride the Kiddie Coaster at Rye Playland and I'm not taking off work time from teaching to visit the Washington State Fair, but who knows Gold Striker (CGA) * Roar-o-saurus (Story Land) * Switchback (ZDT) * Oscar's Wacky Taxi (Sesame Place) * Roller Coaster (Upper Clements) Kiddie Coaster (Rye Playland) Classic Coaster (Washington State Fair) * I'm planning to ride the first four in 2018

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

I tried it last Thursday. They start by giving you a huge base of mac and cheese for the price. It would have been better if the base was a little cheesier. I added grilled chicken, bacon bites, deep fried shoestring onions and jack cheese. I really liked my concoction but wish I cold have added more of the base cheese versus a second cheese. In the end I could only eat half of the macaroni because the portion was too big. I'm sorry I can't remember all the possible items you could add besides the pulled pork and plenty of veggies. You could also top it with ranch, buffalo or BBQ sauces, but I don't like mixing sauces. -

Rode it twice yesterday, 2nd to last row and the 2nd row. The ride is really good in the second row, but much more intense in the 2nd to last row. The minor looking back-to-back humps are perfectly timed to provide ejector air (for those back cars) and then pop you right back into the air right as you land from the previous hump. -

I think people need to use common sense when describing park policy. I can't believe any park official would state it is ok to hang items on a fence (or hide backpacks in the shrubbery, which I have seen people do.) Just because a better chooses to ignore infractions, does not mean park policy has changed. -

[youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Attacking one of our International member's English is completely uncalled for and you have earned a one week time-out. -
Do you have proof that Schlitterbahn relied on someone with no experience and someone who decided not to rely on math? Someone without an engineering degree could be more fluent than an engineer. I can point out some Math teachers/professors that would put some engineers to shame. Imagine if the world had waited for someone with experience inventing a smart phone to invent a smart phone. Sorry Mr. Edison but you can't be building these new things, you have no experience building them. I'm not comparing the designer to Edison, just upset with the ridiculous generalizations being thrown about.

TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With the 2018 season upon us (at least for those in warmer climates) I have updated the list to include the new for 2018 rides. If you happen to visit any parks with new rides post a picture in this thread or in a Trip Report Or you can use the submission tool in the Park Index, but in that case please resize your photos to 800x600 or smaller before submitting, otherwise they are difficult for me to review and place in the Park Index. Or if you have any of those photos already in an existing Photo TR just send me a PM and let me know. Please submit only your own photos. Do not take them from another person or website. If anyone has an opportunity to review the ride list for their home park in the Park Index and provide feedback (about missing or closed rides) we can keep The Park Index as accurate as possible, I can't do it all myself. For this first listing of rides we need any pictures you have of the ride (and signs if the ride is new): USA/Canada/Mexico Adventureland (NY) - new two-story suspended track dark ride (replaces Geister Ricksha) Adventure Park USA - Do most coasters turn to the right?

Do most people write with their right hand? Do we have the right to question the right way for a coaster to turn? -

When I went to try Melt at Cedar Point last year, it was a 30 minute wait for a table. Didn't Cedar Point have a bar on the beach last year? Maybe it was temporary or for a special event, but I thought saw in last summer. -

The amusement park world is not in need of more crappy places serving chicken, that place that replaced Chick-Fil-A was horrible. Slow service and horrible food.
