  1. Must be a slow news day. Safety features worked, and all people were safely evacuated without the need for first responders.
  2. Nice report! I absolutely love this park. It's been about a year since I was able to visit, and I'm happy to see hustler still there as I heard is was being removed.
  3. Metro grill? We are hitting sfga up in a few days, and I'm just looking at our dinning options as we have the sf dinning plan. Can't seem to find this place on the parks website or app. What type of foods do they offer? Nice report! I agree about dorney park. The only reason we ever go there is because we have platinum passes. This could be a great park, but it's lacking a stand out coaster.
  4. I agree 100% It's only publicized so much because of the anti six flags people enjoy this kind of thing, and bring more attention to it. As far as not bringing your family there because of fear of a fight, you better not leave the house then. I have seen numerous fights at cedarpoint as well...including a brawl in the parking lot. Better not bring your family to cp then either. I have brought my family to six flags great America a dozen times, and have NEVER witnessed a fight or anything remotely crazy enough to worry me in the least.
  5. Good to hear about a hotel being built near the park. We have been traveling to this park from Michigan for years, and have always been perplexed why a park of this size did not have a slew of hotels near it. Not sure why the nearest hotel is a half hour away. Is it an issue with the city, or some other reason why there are no hotels near the park?
  6. I'm not sure what issues you have had in the past at six flags, but we go to both cedar fair and six flags parks every year and have not had any major issues. I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say "long exit walks". They are just as long as Disney or Busch. I can think of quite a few at cedar fair parks that are crazy long as well. (The bat and racer 76 come right to mind) If you are referring to having to walk thrue a gift shop, then you don't get good buisness. All park chains are doing that now. As far as employee training, I have had good and bad experiences at "all" park chains. Not more at one than the other. The last six flags park we went to, I had one of the best experiences by an employee from a theme park I have ever had. So good in fact, that I paid a visit to guest relations to let them know how great the employee was. I'm not sure what you mean by "aggravating atmosphere" either. I really don't get where all the hate comes from for six flags parks. I can list a bunch of things about each park chain that bugs me, but I don't go into a park looking for negatives. I go to have a good time. As far as giving away the gate and inviting in trouble, I disagree with that as well. Most of those people that come thru the gates, are going to spend money in the park. Games, food, souviniers..ect. It's all about location as mentioned already. Look at knobles for example. Free admission, free parking, no major problems. But it's in a rural location away from a major city. It's funny how you mention that sfga is your home park and it has a lot of issues, because I feel the same about my home park of cedar point. I think it's because we tend to go to our home parks on a daily bases, and we notice a lot more than an average park goer that visits once a year.
  7. It looked like security showed up. I don't care what type of buisness you have, you cannot control the actions of the public. I witnessed a browl in the parking lot first hand at cedarpoint last october. Happens more than you think. Look.... https://youtu.be/7sb78mBRXE8 http://www.fox2detroit.com/news/263303550-video The point is, it can happen at any park including Disney.
  8. They have this exact same zip line at cj Barrymores in Michigan. Have not been on it yet, but looks like fun.
  9. I feel for her, but at the same time I can't help but feel that it's turned into nothing more than a money grab now. If he had the phone in his pocket(as he claims) how can the park be held responsible? If she is to go after anyone, it would be the guy with the phone.....not the park. I assume the phone was not retrieved by the individual, so his info should be on the phone. The park posts the rules, and they are clearly posted. They can't enforce what they can't see.
  10. I'm confused. Is this something I can purchase at the ticket booth at the theme park, or something I need to purchase beforehand? Also, if added to your pass is it good all year? Does it include parking as well?
  11. They have sold out at cedarpoint a few times, but not often. In my opinion, the cap is too high on how many they sell.
  12. Not sure if this helps, but this is a brochure they gave me when I upgraded to a diamond membership.
  13. You can always upgrade it. I had bought my pass at sfstl last summer, and was able to upgrade it at sfog this spring. What happens is that they can cancel your current pass, and give you a new pass based out of the park you are upgrading it at. Just make sure they cancel your old pass. They told me that they did, but I was still being charged for the old pass. I just shot an email to six flags and not only did they fix the problem, but they refunded me the extra payment I made. I Just wish that you could upgrade your pass online without having to visit the park.
  14. OMG.... Curry popcorn! I was told that at one time this was available at Disneyworld. I have been unsuccessful in my search. Kinda interested as to what chocolate crunch is though? Just curious, what's makes the tot at Disney sea the best? The Hollywood studios version is my favorite attraction at Disney world, and curious what is different between the 2. Great pictures! Looking forward to seeing more Japanese greatness.
  15. Btw.... $20 off coupons on burger king large cups. Not a bad deal for those without season passes.
  16. I tried it out and did not have any issues. I do echo the thoughts of others about the color scheme.
  17. Does anyone know if they still sell ribbon fries? If so, where in the park do they sell them?
  18. What's really odd, is that exact same section swayed when mean streak first opened years ago. I remember standing in line for mean streak looking at the structure sway and thinking about how safe it was. The next season, the sway was gone from mean streaks structure.
  19. Harley Quinn looks fun, but it does not hold a candle to this version of the ride....
  20. Hmmmm.... For those that don't know, this company has some INSANE rides.
  21. Unless a mosquito farts, then sky ride will be closed.
