Speaking of idiots, someone on Facebook just mentioned that she cought 2 girls on steel vengeance carving there initials into the train with there car keys. Good thing she spoke up to a ride operator, and they got busted. Just another example of why we can't have nice things. -

I think the frustration I have with this, is that I am responsible with my phone on rides. I either have it in a zippered pocket, or fanny pack. Just because a there are "some" irresponsible people out there, why do those of us that are responsible have to be punished? It's just frustrating to me that there are people out there that can't use common sense, and because of that we all pay. -
Looks like another wooden coaster is either going to be demolished, or hopefully relocated. It seems the park wants to focus on the waterpark, rather than dry rides. Information here.... via @YouTube Let's hope a park in need of a coaster can step up and save this coaster as it's not that old. The coaster will close sometime in September.

So after cutting our trip a few days short, we swung back home to recover for a few days before we continued onto another park. We made the 5 hour drive from home to six flags great America. I really do enjoy this park, and not sure why some people give it low Mark's. We spent nearly 2 days here, and did not witness any of the problems that some people bring up. The park was very clean, the staff was friendly and semi fast, and all the rides were open except for a kiddy ride and Mardi Gras hangover for one of the days. If I had to complain about 1 thing about this park, it would be the dining plan choices. It seemed that it was mainly the typical park fair(burgers, chicken strips, pizza) beyond that, there were not too many choices. The exceptions would be JB'S smokehouse nachos, and capones spaghetti. While there, one of the highlights was walking by the drop tower just as they started handing out vr tickets. We ended up waiting about 5 min to ride, and were really impressed. During our 2 days there, we never did see American eagle race. I asked a ride host, and the said that they are not allowed to race them anymore. Anybody know about this? Another big highlight of this trip, was my son got his first upside down coaster ride. He ended up loving it, and because of that we had to ride the demon multiple times. Onto the pictures.... We will be here for the next 2 days. It will be interesting to see what replaces this. I'm hoping for a wonder woman clone like at sfft. Got lucky, and scored some tickets to this. The crew was actually pretty fast loading and unloading. It was roughly 5 min between ride cycling. This is the parks new attraction. It seemed to be having some hiccups. This ride is perfect for a hot day like it was. I wonder how many kids today even know who the jetsons are? Fun kiddy coaster though. The fiddlers fling, was one crazy ride. Dare I say it was the most intense flat ride in the park? American eagle is a HUGE racing wooden coaster. The structure of this coaster is mammoth. Its nearly impossible to get a shot of the entire coaster from ground level. Station shot Red train leaving the station The Huge turnaround First feeding of the day was a burger at the mooseburger lodge. Nicely theamed restaurant, but kept smelling something that was like vomit. I totally rocked this ride. I ended up in the top 1% A shot of the loading area Clean midway! I witnessed a bunch of workers walking around cleaning and sweeping. Even noticed this big banner Still an amazing coaster. Station shot Lots more coming from six flags great America...stay tuned!

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

The only thing that comes to mind is when 2 parks make a wager on a world series, or super bowl for the loser to switch the name of coasters. Top thrill cubster comes to mind. Typically, it's only for a few days before they switch the name back. -

It's ugly, and the name sucks. With that being said, I can't wait to ride this thing. 9 Inversions? I hope the restraints are comfy. -

That's just Tony messing around...lol It's the stats for the dive coaster up "north" in Canada. See the valravin logo as well? Or how about the leviathan lumber company? -

I just posted a trip report from chocolate world here... http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=75949&start=70 -
On our swing back towards home, we swung by Hersheys chocolate world to stock up on some snacks and check out the tour. It's been years since we have been here, so I really don't remember much from our first visit. What a cool tour that is more of a dark ride type of thing. This does not go thru the actual factory, but a loose recreation of how chocolate is produced in the factory. The best part is at the end when they give you a sample size bar of Hershey chocolate. Let's take a look shall we.... We are here... Lots of people And it wouldn't be Hershey chocolate world without all kinds of chocolate Hershey candies and souvenirs. They also sell these HUGE chocolate bars! This was our reason for the visit. While in line, they have lots of information on how chocolate is produced. Here are just a few... Once you navigate the Q line and get your picture taken, you arrive at the loading platform. You're ride vehicle has a screen. On the tour, you go thru various scenes of the chocolate making process. Here are a few of the scenes. That's it from the factory tour. Stay tuned for our next stop....Sfga.

We have been to 4 different six flags parks over the last few weeks, and can confirm that they are really cracking down on cell phones. I took my kids on the kiddy balloon ride at great America, and they announced it over the pa system before the ride started and during the ride that if you had a cell phone it must be put away.

This BBQ place is great. I was with a couple people and we all shared so I was able to sample a few different things. It all tasted great and I thought the portion sizes were really big. Prices weren't bad either. It's definitely somewhere I'll be going back to on future visits. I have to agree that this place has some great food, however disagree about the portion size. -

After hitting several six flags parks and playing with the app, I learned that the wait times and ride status for the most part is not accurate. -
We just spent 2 days at the park without fast pass, and rode all the coasters multiple times. We were also able to she the shows and ride a bunch of other rides as well. It was hot, so I think that the main focus for a lot of people was the waterpark. A few non coaster rides you may want to check out are justice league, fiddlers fling(they run this ride in crazy mode), and Mardi Gras hangover. They are also doing vr on the drop tower at no additional cost as well...so check that out if you are able to. The magic show in hometown square was pretty good as well. The only let down this park had for us was the food selection. Not a whole lot of choices outside of the typical park fair. I would suggest the nachos at JB'S smokehouse...they are HUGE!
