Spring Fling back in March at SFOG. Our morning ERT was canceled due to rain we were ok with that but they opened the park to only 3 rides running. They serve us lunch than open 4 coasters. We head towards the front of the park and they tell us we arn't allowed to go there???? So we got stuck in the back of the park with only 4 coasters. With no one telling us anything. They would open Goliath for 15 mins clos it for 30 reopen for 10 close for 30 open for 15 close for 30 minutes.... Eventually they close the park cancel ERT and take my $60 I paid for regristration. Would of been a nice wvent had the weather been nice.

They can add another B&M invert and the GP would not know any better. Remember the parks don't make decsions for Enthusiasts they won't care if they add 4 inverts to the park aslong as the GP goes to the parks to ride them.

Yes, that happened about 30 minutes from where I live at Waterworld Concord. As you said, the kids did a chain, one stopped partway down the slide, and the rest in line bombarded past the lifeguard to make their 'longest chain' in the history of their high school, which resulted in collapsing. It happened the same day my school did their 6th grade trip to what was then PGA. But yea...where are the lifeguards? Epic fail on their part. If you were the lifeguard/ride-attendant at the top of the slide and 60 kids run past you, there's nothing you can do. Supposedly you shouldn't leave the area you are at, and the only way you can stop them is by physically blocking them from getting on. But seriously would you put yourself in front of 60+ kids running at you to get on the slide? I wouldn't. You would get run over. But its their job to do something about it. If they still push past them thats where the lifeguard needs to get a hold of Security or Management and let them take care of the situation because if something happens the Lifeguard at the top could be held responsible even if they break the rules.

Well at least we know they have insurance My park was flooded but I just saved a bunch of money on my insurance by switching to Geico

I don't think its impossible for them to reopen soon. Aslong as they react quickly (Like Knoebels) they could reopen some of their rides this weekend. SFNO all over again I do feel bad for the folks living down there though. I will be praying for them.

The nicest park maps I ever seen printed out every week and discuss the latest happenings in the park. I issues I have are the Special Coaster Con edition. I have about 9 of them and because they are like news papers they will have to be folded for Shipping. So If any one wants one let me know!

I would hate to be a Ride Op on a ride when that happens. Just knowing there is not really anything you can do to help till EMS gets there. I felt that way back in 06 when someone hurt their back on the Blue Streak can't imagine that scenario.

I am curious how this footage got out though? You would think one of the first things done would be to erase or secure that footage because I am sure those two did not buy a copy to remember their fun ride Glad to see nothing was too threatning though.

Dark Ride?

Curious I am sure you mentioned it before but... When you go on these trips do you know the Languages and how to read the signs or do you study up before hand or have someone with your group that does?

Well I don't know the workings of Raft Rides but unlike most rides there is no real control to the rafts they are free floating objects on a current of water and if the flow is stoped if it still has momentum its gonna keep going till A. It hits something B. If it changes elevation C. It goes long enough it runs out of momentum I am thinking of a theory but can't remember which one.
