But that defeats the purpose of the attraction. -

So the entrance will be outside the park? -
This I REALLY wanted to love the park as it is beautiful, however the service and operations just ruined it for me. I absolutely did not enjoy getting ignored at the bar in the Sequoia Lodge for 20 minutes while there were only 6 people at the bar and 3 cast members working. I think this would be a step in the right direction for the resort. Bring back the Disney standards that were thrown away a long time ago.

Favorite Standalone Haunts?

That is a bummer for you as I can see that area not being a huge draw for haunt operators. However you have several in Knoxville Frightmare Manor, Trail of Doom (Cornmaze), and Frightworks. They all advertise together so all their pages are in one link here. -

I was going to save my funds this year but damn your teasing me with these great trips. Would love to do them all but I am still trying to figure out if I will do one or not. Guess I will just wait for the fliers to decide. Definitely interested in Singapore, Japan, West Coast, Texas, and Mexico. Also anyone in doubt trust me when I say you can trust Robb and Elissa when it comes to their trips. I did Italy and Europe (I swear I will get around to putting together the TR) with them last year and it was an amazing time and they really excided my expectations. They were very well organized and went out of the way to make sure everyone had a great time! -

^ I loved the ending in that one! Several of my favorites are... Ghoul Mansion *Shameless plug* - Sharon Pa There is two attractions here Ghoul Mansion and Carnevil. Both attractions share the same building which result in some very twisting paths which allow for some pretty unique tricks. Detail is top notch and the artist who does the 3D in Carnevil has some of the best work I have seen. If your in the area stop by and say hi to Dippy this year will be the best yet! www.scarinpa.com Haunted Hills Estate - Uniontown Pa Didn't know what to think about this one but it was an option for an add-on for Haunt Con so we decided to check it out and im glad we did! We went in May which meant one of the attractions wasn't open for us due to construction but didn't matter as the other two attractions were great. The first we did was Legends set in an old barn this obviously had a backwards hillbilly theme. The actors were really good (Surprised me since this was the first they acted in several months) while going through the house you are required to do alot of crawling and they do a good job at splitting/ switching up groups so those hiding in the back would have to lead. The second attraction was Challenge Trail. I knew absolutely nothing about this one so I didn't expect what was coming. This was a VERY interactive haunt and you are required to do various activitys throughout out the trail working closely with a group of strangers. Several included shoveling coal, codes, puzzles, shooting, and beer pong (Yes Beer Pong). The theme around this haunt is you are trying to control the Zombie apocalypse and at the end your must escape when a hoard of Zombies come after you. www.hauntedhillsestate.com Those are just two but if you are looking for area haunts or info a good site I use is Haunt World -

Photo TR Disaster Transport Closing Day
kidcoaster 2 replied to kidcoaster 2's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Thanks for the comments everyone. I was looking through my photos and found some more that may or may not interest everyone. Starting off here is a photo from the offseason when I worked there. Here is an old overview. If you compare to the other overview I posted you can see they did some serious cleaning. Here is what was left of a section of the Queue after Happy Jacks took over. Behind that door was what you waited in 2010 till the end of its life. The rest are various photos from Happy Jacks which took over DT's queue in 2009. This is Dave he was an Icon for Disaster Transport in its early years. Seriously probably the best Haunt Cedar Point has ever done. The last photo is the floor plan for Happy Jacks. You could see where the ride when over the haunt. -

Your right. My original response was a little over the top with out having proof when these employees could just be over exaggerating this. -
Better late than never but here is my trip report from Cedar Point when I went for the very last day of Disaster Transport on July 29th. I arrived shortly after 5 but was still able to get a good amount done even though it was pretty busy. Space Spiral x2 (No wait) Blue Streak (10 minute wait) Magnum x2 (30 minute wait) Mean Streak (No wait) Skyscraper Top Thrill Dragster (Hour wait) Diaster Transport x17 A couple notes - It seemed like they have already stopped taking care of Space Spiral as the windows were actually dirtier than normal. - Blue Streak was looking good with the fresh paint and is still running great. - Mean Streak is actually running good this year. - New haunt going in inside Mean Streak. - Luminosity area is a mess. - Skyscraper has had its cycle trimmed. - The park lets guests on the entire beach now. - Soak City looks great in its new paint. - Half of the Mini Golf is still closed. I ended up being 1st place winner in the Give Kids the World final dispatch event. Huge thanks to everyone who donated! Now onto the photos! Welcome to Cedar Point! As you can tell it was a busy day... Corkscrew doing its thing. Main Midway Pagoda and Space Spiral This will look very different very soon. I will miss seeing the 12 E looming over the midway. The line for Disaster Transport stayed at about 30 minutes most of the day. Nice to see the ride getting some love for its last day. First I rode Space Spiral since it will also be leaving soon. Sadly I never got the top floor credit This will look VERY different next year! The windows were very dirty, even more so than before. This looks to be my destination. The park put this neat banner infront of the enterance. It explains some of the history of the ride. And some of the changes the ride when through. Some Halloweekends history. Ramses anyone? I really think the biggest loss here is Happy Jacks it was one of my all time favorite haunts What I am here for. Mhm... what could it be? Ohh I'll be there! Next up Blue Streak! Looking good! Now lets go get a different look at Disaster Transport The Beach is really nice place to spend a part of the day. Evil creatures. The former "restricted Beach" Yes that is grass growing on the roof... Through the trees? Made my way to the back of the park to take a lap on Mean Streak... Yeah... Construction for Eden Musee Wax Museum Haunt. Back to Mean Streak which was running surprisingly good! The layout is still boring though. The Asylum Never seen the show but hopefully they work on the midway during the off season. The sun has gone down which means its time for the Final Mission to start! Sadly there wasn't good lighting for the event so my photos I took came out right. This will be hung up in Town Hall. For the ERT they let us walk through the back room to re ride. I had a geek moment when I seen the seat numbers from Avalanche Run Me and Todd before lap 13 Being let in for the very last time. To the launch pad one last time! Second to last train. Last train ever! You had a good run but all things must come to an end. Just shame we never made it to Alaska. Thanks for reading!

Glad I got to do this back in May thanks to ClubTPR when I used the discount they gave me free safari tickets. However on my visit I seen alot of people breaking the simple rules that have and watched someone almost hit a giraffe. So this change doesn't surprise me but i'm looking forward to seeing what happens for next year.
