  1. I was kinda wondering when some type of New Year's eve event was going to be held at the park since they bought that stake in Dick Clark Ent.
  2. My guess is that the name was revised to avoid the confusion between The new movie and the "I'll be Back" movie.
  3. It'll raise attendace, but I wouldn't say it'll double.
  4. Villain-Geaqua Lake Raging Wolf Bobs-Geaqua Lake Big Dipper-Geaqua Lake Double Loop(RIP, You were the best of all!)-Geaqua Lake Psyclone-SFMM Freefall(First ride certified for as Ride-Op, so I count it, RIP)SFMM
  5. And by that time it would more than likely be too cold to cycle the trains.
  6. ^Nevermind Tatsu...X-Flight or any Vekoma Flyer tend to be more intense than any B&M...IMO of course.
  7. I wonder if there is a sense of invincibility going to the heads of the higher-ups running CF. Maybe it already is. I sensed a very cocky tone in this article: www.iaapa.org/expos/attractions/ShowDaily08/wed/CandidKinzel.asp It may just be me, but it seems like some of the people who are running CF think they can do no wrong right now.
  8. Prior to working at Knotts in 2006, I had visited the park twice. Once when I was about 8. (Boomerang scared the beJesus out of me) Once in 2004. On my prior visit, the park was still family owned. I remember the petting zoo, and the free pogs they gave out that day. I remember for the scaredy cat I was (at the time, of course) I still had a lot of fun. In 2004 (I was 17) I had a love of riding coasters, but wasn't an enthusiast yet. All I remember was thrill rides. None of the fun stuff to do was there anymore. Now what passes for kid entertainment at knott's is, "If Xcelerator is too scary for you, then ride Pony Express". Milder coasters don't equal family rides. I wonder when Dick will get the point.
  9. People care about small things. So according to your arguement, People who like steel, concrete and trash cans go to CP, and people who want to visit a nice park go to Disneyland? and FWIW, I was not comparing Disney to CF, People care about old rides/scenary being removed.
  10. Take out Pirates of the Carribean at Disneyland or remove two lightposts from Main Street...and watch the uproar. ^Though you make an okay arguement, you have to keep in mind, not every CF park is ran with the same type of urgency as Cedar Point. Knott's Berry Farm is in no way like CP. Geaqua Lake was not Cedar Point. No other park in the chain will get as much attention as that one park.
  11. Xcelerator's launch is better IMO, but overall Dragster's still a better ride. I'm sure that Knott's will just cram another PG coaster in that spot in 2010. Still, if they're taking all these iconic items in the park out, might as well be for an Intamin hyper.
  12. I would have to second that the layout is similar to SUF, SO FAR Since the bulk of the ride at this point is the curving drop and the pretzel, it's going to draw similarities. I just don't see why that's a bad think. Though I have yet to ride a superman clone myself, most of the reviews I hear are that they're boring COMPARED to Tatsu or Air.
  13. I Have quite a few...So here they go! Titan La Vibora Tatsu (1st time) Tatsu (As an Operator, with an ACEr) X My Ride on the Villain (RIP) My first ride On Dragster (I got hit in the face by a bug) Off-ride phot of me riding Boomerang at Knott's My first time On Millienium Force
  14. Aside from the facts that it's an ACE landmark and a park icon, Revolution doesn't really take up any valuable space in the park. It has such a noble perch on that hill in the park. Besides, the fact that it's mostly hidden by trees, the ride could sit for years SBNO and I don't think anyone woud notice.
  15. X and Deja Vu have always been rehabed betewwn Jan/Feb so expect one train operation on X if opened an Deja to be closed for recableing. Everything else usually just drops to one train, but the crowds are historically light around this time so you should be fine.
  16. The guy still interviews better than George Bush.
  17. Yea...then when we all gripe to each other about how much the rides we put in suck, someone will actually care.
  18. One thing you have to keep in mind is the time ypu plan on visiting. Nearly all of our parks are seasonal. My advice would be a little biased but Sunny Southern California is a good bet. High concentration of year-round parks, and tons of coupons out there. Plus if you tire out of all the parks, there's plenty of other landmarks here that will keep you entertained.
  19. I've had my doubts about this ride before but I'm taking most of it back now. Nice update and nice ride!
  20. ^That probably has to do with the fact it's always down.
  21. Well since SFNE is losing a superman coaster(technically), mayber you can call it Kryptonian Escape or something. I can't wait for the creativity.
  22. There is active constuction with scaffoldings set up.
  23. I'd have to admit that Banned Kid has a valid point. Us as coaster enthusiasts know more than the average person would know about amusement rides. It's a bit nit-picky to ridicule people just because they don't understand as much as we do. That doesn't make a dumb guest, it just makes someone not as knowlegeable as you.
  24. ^It's gonna be tough for them to buy a 20 million dollar ride nowadays. Now a Zamperla flyer...that's a little more in the price range.
  25. No Great Pretender-The Roots
