  1. Sat in both outside and inside seats on different trains, it was definitely the different train, my friend noticed it too. Pacing seemed very slow in the morning, and although it wasn't flying round in the afternoon, it seemed a lot better. Would say my fav seat is as a lot of people have said, back row, left hand side, outside seat (on train 1)
  2. Hi All, just got back from Thorpe (Report to Follow with Photos) but just thought I would add, rode Swarm 10 Times, 3 on the front, 2 on the back (each side) and every row in between. It is a great coaster, not intense (unless you ride at the back at the end of the day) Although I did spot a problem. Train 2 is quite bouncy, however Train 1 is smooth as glass! Only problem is that the train numbers are hidden when in the station by the brakes!
  3. Yay, Nemesis can now Legally Drink!!!! Be prepared for a season of not wanting to start working early and plenty of headaches for the ride staff
  4. That is a definite no for the Swarm, the restraint is quite tight, there were a lot of people complaining when Raptor opened that they couldn't fit, so That one is out I'm afraid, Nemesis does have larger seats available as previously mentioned, as for Stealth/Collosus, best bet is to try the test seat first....
  5. It's all where you sit! Guess the same goes for this boring B&M thing? I'm sure every single Thorpe Park die-hard fan to the average general public roller coaster fan would have rather had I305 sitting there than some lame excuse for a roller coaster than people are having to justify riding it at certain times, certain seats, when the moon is properly aligned, when your blood sugar balance is perfect, etc, etc.... for it to be any good. --Robb Take a look at Nemesis, (The original one, not the copy) ride it on the first train of the day, then ride it at the very end of the day, which ride is better........ You say it yourself, "Its all where you sit!", well the same is always said about when you ride! I am by no means trying to Justify anything, just think it is a valid point that if you only ride a brand new coaster once, and that one time is on a cold morning with freezing fog everywhere to the point you can't even see the ride from the car park, you are bound to be let down. Does a coaster have to be intense to be fun?
  6. Surely they are intense because you are rotating in 2 directions though on the Arrow 4D's, therefore the G's are higher, the Intamin Wing Rider is just Rough, I didn't find it very intense. My reference was purely in relation to tight helix's, fast transitions etc...
  7. I have read a lot of reports on Swarm, and the general opinion seems to be if you ride it once only and in the morning, you won't be that impressed, if you ride it after it has been running all day it is much better. (I shall be able to answer that in T-Minus 3 days ) Also looking at it, surely it will be almost impossible to create an "intense" Winged Coaster due to the location of the seats, surely what would be intense for one side of the train would be uncomfortable for the other side?
  8. I don't think he was being serious........
  9. Sneak Peak 30 second clip of the You Me At Six Song Not sure what I think, I kinda like it, but not sure if I think it suits The Swarm, the lyrics may, but not sure about the music..... Also Thorpe are almost ready for the VIP event, looking impressive, photos from Twitter Good theming on the bridge to the island
  10. The ride itself doesn't have to be built with permission as X-Sector is under a GDO (general development order). The thing they are trying to get planning consent for is the station building and I think the theming Correct - The Station & The Spiderlike Themeing Element are the only pieces that require Planning Permission. A GDO basically means that as long as the attraction is built within certain parameters (ie. Height, Noise) They do not require planning permission to build it.
  11. 1st Video Note.............HAUGHLIN ASS into the final brakes!!! I cannot wait to try this out in September!
  12. If you look at the YouTube Users other video, this is fan created, he also created a main theme tune, good music, but highly unlikely to be the official. The Official "Theme" Music has been produced and written by UK Band You Me At Six" and is Called "The Swarm" it will be available on iTunes as of the 18th March.
  13. OMG that is a shocking video, now I completely understand that this will end up being a mix of "Operator Error" and "Mechanical Malfunction" But I now wonder how long this Giant Drop will be at Hopi Hari for before reduced ridership gets it removed. I have to say I would be doubtful about riding it after seeing that video, and ordinarily I love Freefalls!
  14. Looks like someone from PBB has been reading the Merlin rule book on themeing a Rollercoaster........ Seriously, can't we paint a ride in the UK with better colours than grey?!
  15. If you goto Thorpe on a Weekday, you can almost get it done in half a day (I usually end up spending the afternoon at Chessington as it is just round the corner (well 20mins). If memory serves me correct, you can also pay about £12 when you are in the park for a return ticket for the following day (It has been a long time since I actually did this, so it may be no longer valid) So you will save a fortune if you do this rather than go for an Annual Pass.
  16. Unfortunately, due to Gullivers season not starting till mid-April, most of the "Big" rides were out of action for off season repairs, so no rides today....
  17. Hi All, Just got back from the ECC's annual meeting which this year due to certain issues was at Gulliver's World in Milton Keynes, I thought I would post a selection of my photos from this rare to see park (As per all Gulliver's you cannot visit unless either you have kids with you or you pre book a visit (where you get escorted through the park to ride the rides!)) Enjoy! Entrance Plaza Gulliver's Mascot Sign of Quality - Although the lift hill walk was nerve-racking, the stairs bounced quite well with 5 of us on them! This one is mine! A Sign of Quality! Another shot of the Parks Log Flume. Nerd Shot
  18. Interesting, I was under the impression that Intamin retro-fitted all of the drop towers with seatbelts some years ago, maybe it wasn't compulsary.... My thoughts go out to the girls family, horrible horrible accident.
  19. It sounds and looks incredible! I cannot wait for this!!!! First TV Spot has been released also... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfwJ2mqgh-g
  20. Of note - the station looks incredible!!! Cannot wait!!!
  21. Spent a little while at the local visiting Fun-Fair this evening with my long exposure hat on....hope you like!
  22. Good Stuff, thanks very much, will look into it, I do currently have a few lens' So a fixed lens is not usually a problem!
  23. Amazing photos, I am sure I may have asked this before, but cannot remember the answer, what 14mm lens is that? I have been looking at the Sigma 10-20mm lens recently and if this is the lens you use, I will definitely be making a purchase!!!
  24. Hi guys, thought I would add my latest photos on here and see what you think. Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough, UK Let me know if you like them!
  25. If it turns out to be a Gerstlauer, I for one will still be happy, as it will still be another fantastic addition to the UK's coaster lineup! P.S. It wasn't a Concept Drawing......
