  1. I read the info in the link which is pretty much standard with our park up here. Not all of our rides have wait times, some you can just go right on with the guidebook which is nice. There will only be 2 of us. I'm looking forward to a fun trip, I just need to make sure we save up enough for it. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, and this will be our honeymoon trip that we didn't get to take last summer when we got married.
  2. We're going to upgrade our passes, currently we have a regular season's pass. Bayshore Estates is on Shoreway Drive, south of Cedar Point. $4/gallon is about standard with our prices right now at $1.30/litre so I'm not worried about it now I guess, it's never going to be cheap again. I have a minivan, can't drive anything else. Ok, so maybe we wont need to go for 6 days then, maybe 3 or 4 days would be enough for us. But I have to worry about rain, I hear that August gets very rainy. We would be arriving on the 6th of August, or maybe the 5th, depending on how late the Behemoth bash goes on the 4th. I don't want to be driving early in the morning on the 5th if we're going to be late at Wonderland.
  3. Loved the update, great pics, makes me smile.
  4. I always wonder about that. I know that rides are different if you can't see. By not being able to see, it takes away from the enjoyment or excitement of wondering what's coming next on the ride. If I can't wear my glasses(and I'm virtually blind without them), the I wont ride. It's that simple. It's like driving, I need to see where I'm going.
  5. For anyone who knows everything and anything about Cedar Point, I need some answers. 1st of all, does anyone know about the campground at Bayshore Estates? We're thinking about camping there. No hotels/motels on this trip, we're roughing it, camping out of my van. 2nd, does anyone know the exact toll cost on the Cedar Point Causeway? I've read that it's $1 each way but just want to confirm this. Current gas prices? I know the prices will change between now and August, but I'm just trying to get rough trip costs. How about food out of the park? What are the average prices, say at a fast food joint or a grocery store? And what's in the area for such things like camping staples? We're trying to keep the cost as low as possible. Now, onto the real fun About the park itself. I'm not sure how long we'll be going, but it will be up to 6 days. How long does it take to actually do all the coasters in the park? I'm assuming we'd need a few days at least to do it all. Is it worth going to Soak City? We like waterparks, but not sure that we want to do this, or just spend half a day there. Also curious about what kind of program they have for people with disabilities regarding lines. I couldn't get a clear answer last year regarding this policy. At Wonderland it's a guidebook, and it saves people on waiting in line. I've had to use it before, and I may need something at CP due to my ongoing knee problems. Any and all info, advice and suggestions are welcome.
  6. May is fast approaching its end, and I'm planning a vacation for around that time. Would like to do the day trip, take the next day off, then drive to CP for about a week. However, in order to do that, I really need to confirm well in advance that this will happen. Hope you had fun, we're all itching for an update.
  7. Enjoy the ride when you're there. The Toronto Sun put in an article a few days ago, and neglected to write anything about TPR, but splashed ACE in their article a few times. If anyone wants to read the article, I'll scan it in and post it up. It's going to be a long day isn't it? I'll have to see if my husband can book off Monday and Tuesday, since a long day will mean a long drive home. I was telling him about all the trips you all take, and told him we'd get to meet an eclectic group of people, and he's starting to look forward to it. I can't think of a better way to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary than to hang out with some cool people and ride some rides. Can't wait for the update.
  8. I live with my husband and his mother(ugh, big mistake).
  9. They want people to be wearing shoes on the ride. I guess people were trying to take their shoes off for the ride like they usually do on Flight Deck.
  10. And I'm sure the fact that the park wasn't open to the public had no effect on the line. Yeah probably, but it was still pretty busy, the parking lot was rather full. Hard to get a spot near the front entrance.
  11. I think they let anyone in yesterday. We bought our passes, got them processed, and when we were done, just walked right in. Pure luck I guess.
  12. Still is. I rode it on season pass night and it felt as rough as before. Though granted I'm a glutton for punishment and pick the back seat. OMG, I rode the back once and I couldn't believe how rough it was. I'm a front car person, so it wasn't surprising that I rode Behemoth for my first ride in the very front.
  13. Lol. Ok, if the park doesn't have any B&M's except this one, then I've never ridden one until yesterday. I find the worst a$$ kicker in general in the park to be Wild Beast.
  14. Yes it was a bank day. I was surprised, we'd only planned on getting our passes and going home, but when we saw the park was open we agreed to ride Behemoth. It was the only one we rode. And yes, it will be quite popular for years to come, I'm sure of that. I would definitely take advantage of an ERT there when they hold one. It wasn't too bad, in and out in about half an hour, the lineup wasn't near as bad as Friday night, although I wasn't there to see that.
  15. Behemoth. First ride since last season.
  16. They are for sure. But if only the supervisors ran the ride, the rest of the crew would miss out on the fun of running it. And that wouldn't be fun.
  17. I can imagine the process for being hired on the Behemoth crew would be tough. It would be similar I think to Skyflyer. The Skyflyer crew goes though I believe 25 hours of in-depth training and certification before they can op the ride. I just emailed the park nominating the crew of Behemoth for an award for best customer service. They deserve it, they know how to run the ride.
  18. Lol. What a difference a day makes. The lineup today didn't even span half of the queue line today. We were there at around 3:30pm after we got our passes. I posted a review and you can see the line difference. We couldn't stay still long enough for me to get decent shots from the queue line. But now we know what to expect when the official season starts. I'm just glad I got in when I did, I despise lines Yeah that is crazy that you got on all 3. I didn't quite pay attention to the one we were on.
  19. I rode today, and it wasn't busy at all. With 3 trains going pretty full, the ops were really fast. They knew what they were doing, well trained. I wish I could say the same for some of the other rides, they don't all know what they're doing. I really wish I was working there this year, I would love to op that ride. It's a blast to ride, it would be amazing to run as well. It's a great coaster, I've never been to any other park, and am only going into my 3rd year of being a coaster junkie.
  20. Some great shots. Can't believe the difference between yesterday and today. I was in and out of Behemoth in less than half an hour today.
  21. For me it would be Behemoth. It's my first big coaster. I may change my mind if I ever get to other parks.
  22. Yes we had to pay for parking, but they gave us a discount for our season parking pass as a result. Instead of it being $33.90, it was $21.99. Definitely worth it. Hard to find a decent spot though, there were a ton of cars there.(maybe it had to do with the TTC strike?)
  23. Fun stuff isn't it? That's kind of like I felt today on Behemoth, I was like, "Oh shit we're going to die". Glad you conquered your fear, you always feel better once you do.
  24. So today, we went up to get our discount passes my husband and I, and were pleasantly surprised to find the park open, but not to the general public. It was a bank day but they let us in. So, we decided to ride Behemoth for the first time. I have to admit that I was terrified riding it, but having a blast at the same time. So this is my review of the ride today. They moved a lot of things around in the area of Behemoth, and that made it more pleasing to be able to look at it. There's not much for landscaping as most of the coaster is on water, but it's not to bad. We sat at the very front of the ride, this is always the best place to sit, especially for your first ride ever. It makes the experience much more intense. The trains are very interesting to look at, they're extremely open and spacious. The restraints are comfortable, but not very flexible if you're small boned. This allows for a ton of wicked air time however. To be honest, this was the best coaster I've ever ridden, and I've only ridden at Wonderland. The lift hill is steep, you're looking straight up to the sky as you're going up. It's unreal. The trip up the lift is smooth, however, we were unfortunately enough to be slowed almost to a stop, like they were teasing us. It's a nerve wracking trip up the lift, especially if you've never gone so high before on a coaster. The view from the top is spectacular, you can see downtown Toronto nicely, and that's roughly 50km's from the park. When you look down at the top of the lift, it's unreal. The drop feels like it's straight down. You can feel your heart jump into your throat. The first drop is unreal. You speed down the drop at an amazing 125km/h in about 3 seconds. Then it's nothing but airtime when you crest the coming hills. The out and back curve is the highlight of this ride, just absolutely amazing to go through. More hills, and more airtime on these camelbacks. You hit the brake section before going into the helix, it's a smooth transition. The helix packs on the G's, but it's tolerable, and still very smooth. The rest of the ride is great, even heading into the last brake section is surprisingly easy on the train. The ride ops are awesome, they really know how to run this ride. They load very fast and get you on your way. The announcer was a very happy young lady who was quite cheerful and made everyone happy. She couldn't help but make you smile and make noise when she told you do. The entire ride is quite smooth, very comfortable, and a down right good ride. I'm glad we got to experience it before it got busy. This is our on ride photo, I'm screaming my head off, but my husband has a permanent smile on his face. The kids behind us were on their second ride of the day. This speaks for itself. The top of the immense lift hill. First airtime hill. Awesome and scary if you're not used to so much air time. Camelback. Another camelback. Brake section before the helix.
  25. Why would you PM Robb? He's stated a million times in here that there's PLENTY of time left before the date and the details will come as they're available! Why would PM'ing him result in anything different, besides maybe you getting banned? Kudos to Robb and Elissa for managing to stay relatively sane through all of the impatient jerks who can't read a simple thread and all of the morons who insist on making pointless posts throughout the forum! I can't imagine what your e-mail or PM inboxes must look like... I PM'd to ask only about that day, that's all I'm interested in since I live near the park. I'm going to write a Behemoth review today, I just got home from riding it
