  1. Your house has no left side? Just kidding of course, but this picture did strike me as almost looking like a facade.

Ah, that's where the pesky "posting" link I was looking for was hiding. Thank you for the help. Anything that requires more than 2 or 3 steps on a computer can send me spinning in circles.

I'm sure it is right in front of face, but I can't seem to find an option to default my signature to "on". I've clicked all over the tabs on my profile page, but I'm coming up empty. I rarely remember to click the attach signature box when I post and I feel that I am doing Big Mike a disservice by not consistently displaying my "Valuable Big Mike Reader" signature banner. Thanks for any help you can provide. P.S. Sorry to be a thread gravedigger, but I thought I'd post in a relevant thread, rather than start a new one to show my ineptitude.
  4. I agree that Ghostrider needs some love. Or... They could simply leave it as it is now and rename it "Jackhammer". Closer to home, Roar at SFDK was getting a little rougher than I remember it being a couple seasons ago. Hopefully if may have gotten a little TLC over the short off season. One area of that coaster that I think could be improved for a relatively small investment would be to fully enclose the shed section of the ride. That's a fast and furious, fun little section. I think it would be greatly intensified if it were done in complete darkness.
  5. Was this a completely new design of this type of coaster, or a copy of a successful previous design? In this day and age of computer designed everything, it's hard to comprehend how they could be having such difficulty with a type of ride that had been built and operated successfully back in the 1930s.
  6. Well, one thing is for sure: I wish I had invented the Q-Bot. The revenue stream from that product has got to be staggering. Not to add fuel to the fire, but Disney does offer something along the lines of the "Gold" upgrade. The tours available as an upcharge include priority boarding of several attractions. To those doing the math on how any "line-cutting" system effects standby queue wait times, you'd have to factor that into your equations as well. They've obviously done their homework on setting the price points for these types of services. If they hadn't, people wouldn't be using them in the numbers that they do. I'll still be inclined to do as much as I can with good planning, but given the option of mutilple hour waits for attractions, or forking over the dough for an enhanced virtual queue system, I'll be handing over the money and enjoying my time in the park.
  7. It looks like the major effort to clean the place up didn't extend to that sign you're standing in front of for the picture, eh?
  8. Fair enough, and duly noted. Terminator is looking awesome. I may have missed it somewhere in this thread, but is TPR planning an event for the opening of the new coaster?
  9. If in fact those are the actual Flash Pass Q-bot prices, then that's a fairly pleasant surprise. I think they'll get a lot more penetration of the product at those prices. I'd certainly pay that for our family of 5 on a busy summer day to avoid some of the lines I've seen on a June or July weekend. I don't recall SFDK's Roar having any red white and blue on it. If I remember right, one train is orange and the other is brown. At least, I think those are the colors.
  10. My daughter's math teacher. Seriously, I'm not kidding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFvvVPK-IRc&feature=channel_page
  11. Where is the Riddlers test seat usually located? I had never noticed one near the ride, if that's where it was.
  12. It's funny how the mere presence of a camera divides a person's IQ by at least half. Funny stuff! Oh, and by the way, to whom do I send the bill for my therapy?
  13. 7/20 I guess Coney Island trivia isn't my thing. What's up with publicly electrocuting ANY animal anyway? It's not like I'm some PETA supporter, but c'mon... That's just ridiculous.
  14. Once ACE gets wind of this promotion the Sahara is going to go broke.
  15. I'm glad you got to see the park before the major construction started. Great pictures as always Big Mike. Good luck to the remaining ducky contestants.
  16. ^ Robb's nice big super informative first post with pictures, video, specs, etc. should answer any of your questions.
  17. The lift on Pilgrim's Plunge looks like it will be more scary/fun. We missed getting to ride Perilous Plunge on a few consecutive trips to Knott's because it was always closed when we went. Mind you, each time was in the middle of summer when you'd expect a water ride to be up and running, but whatever... We finally got to ride it this past year. I don't know if I just expected too much after anticipating it for so long, but I walked away from the ride in no big hurry to wait in line for it again any time soon. The drop is great and all that, but the ride is over so fast that it just didn't leave much of an impression on me. I think the longer, shallower angle drop on Pilgrim's Plunge will actually be more exciting. That, combined with a winding course, and the unique lift, should make it a superior experience. I've never been to any parks outside of California, save for Expo '86 in Vancouver B.C. (which wasn't really a park, but at least attending resulted in my acquiring a somewhat rare coaster credit). That said, I do look forward to branching out and travelling to more parks in the future. Having been here on TPR for some time now and reading TRs, I find that, behind the various other Disney properties, parks like Holiday World, Dollywood and Knoebel's are right at the top of my list for places I'd like to visit.
  18. Hector vs Achilles is also a good one. Nothing against the others mentioned, but I find the vast majority of movie sword fights to be very contrived and unbelievable. I realize we're talking about movies here, so all of these sword fights we're talking about are indeed contrived, it's just that some come across as being more realistic and dramatic. I did name the topic "Best" movie sword fights and not "most realistic" sword fights, so I'm not complaining about anyone's opinion, but rather adding a clarifying point to why I really like the fight in the original post. I also think this one from Kingdom Of Heaven is pretty decent, but the ending leaves something to be desired.
  19. One thing I find a bit odd is that there's been no news about Adam "Pacman" Jones. Yeah, he's acted like a wanna-be gangsta and all that, but there's got to be at least a couple teams that need a corner bad enough to take a chance on him. I'm not the least bit sad that he's no longer wearing the lone star on his helmet, but it won't surprise me one bit if he lands another gig. Maybe he'd fit in with the Raiders? It seems like they were once the group home of misfit thugs that the Cowboys have aspired to become over the past couple seasons. I'm just surprised we haven't heard anything more about him since he was cut. Despite all the Romo haters that will tell you he's destined to always choke in the clutch, I think he's primed for a bounce-back season. He's got all the necessary skills, along with exceptional escapability and an amazing knack for making something out of nothing. Sure, he'll probably throw a few bonehead picks at really inopportune times, but if he can just cut down on dropping the ball for no apparent reason, he'll be fine. My suggestion is to have the coaches require Romo to carry a football at all times and fine him some really ridiculous amount of money any time he drops it. The guy has simply got to become a whole lot more serious about ensuring the ball remains in his hands and not on the ground. How about T.O.? My guess is he'll be staying put for the time being. Jerrah probably found it hard enough to admit that Pacman was a mistake. I think he actually believes that he can babysit T.O. long enough to make it to a Super Bowl with him. The Cowboys are still, despite their epic collapse at the end of last season, right behind the Patriots as the 2nd favorite among oddsmakers to win the Super Bowl. The guys that make the lines in Vegas don't give a chit about anything but the bottom line, so maybe Jerrah is smarter than we generally give him credit for? I guess we'll see. Get yer popcorn ready!
  20. I was never a huge fan of Mr. Six, but I found the commercials he was in to be at least entertaining, and not annoying like yelling Asian guy. My wife and kids, on the other hand, LOVE Mr. Six and were really stoked when I showed them the pictures of him in this thread. I'll be looking forward to the photo ops during WCB. Long live Mr. Six! Yelling Asian guy... Not so much.
  21. My home park is SFDK. It's a little under 2 hours away. Or, a little over 2 hours if traffic is bad.
  22. No way man... The yakuza left the Oriental Land Co in charge of their moon operations and have moved on to Mars. M-Class = Mars Class.
  23. Methinks ye may be surrounded by a few too many trees to see the forest, but that's cool. Eveybody has their own take on things. I'm just saying I'd hazard a guess that if you did exit polling at Disneyland and asked everyone that left the park what the parade they just watched, that day, was called, the percentage of those that checked the "I have no idea" box would far outweigh any of the other options.
  24. So, this is like a personal seat license that sports stadiums sell you just so you have the "right" to buy season tickets, except this is for Disney merchandise?
  25. A parade is a parade, is a parade, to John and Jane Doe watching a commercial at home on TV. As long as they go to Disneyland and there's a parade, they not going to go storming into City Hall and demanding their money back because it wasn't some certain parade.
