  1. The additions to the park, other than the Mad T party, look absolutely stunning. I can't wait to have the chance to check this out some time in late summer or early fall. On another note, I heard on the radio this morning about the CALIFORNIA letters coming to Cal Expo. I guess it's a fitting enough place for them to end up and I'm glad I'll be able to see them again.
  2. 24/40 with lots of lucky guesses.
  3. So these plans were hatched while chatting with a 13 year old on a theme park website? This makes total sense now. (No disrespect molemaster43)
  4. Good to know. I was never operating under the assumption that it was though. And "Full throttle", in addition to being a popular energy drink, is when the accellerator pedal is pushed fully to the floor. The name would make sense for a launched coaster that gave the impression of a powered vehicle accellerating at "full throttle". Think of Top Thrill Dragster, or Xcelerator, for similar references to launched coasters that make the name seem likely for a launched coaster. The fact that it's also the name of an energy drink makes for a pretty decent promotional tie-in.
  5. Haha! How many times can you pan and zoom around the same area of dirt? That was one of the lamest "updates" I've ever seen. I'm ashamed to have watched the whole thing.
  6. This picture is absolutely amazing. This is a great trip report.
  7. I honestly didn't even notice that. I went ahead and edited my original post to include the version of the video you linked. Thank you.
  8. Pretty awesome.
  9. The firing of the spark plugs shown in the video would represent an accurate firing order for the left bank of cylinders, assuming the spark plug farthest from us (from the perspective of the video) is the furthest forward cylinder on that bank, which would be cylinder #5. You can trust me on this one, after all, I'm a mechanic.
  10. I should have heeded the warnings. I am now scarred for life. I'm glad that I have no idea what that little pink unicorn thing in the Jedi outfit is supposed to be, but still completely creeped out by it and the dude carrying it. I found a picture of his vehicle on the web:
  11. So, since the legal age we become an adult in this country is 18, this means...?
  12. A reduction in ASSholders and the babysitting effect is exactly what I would hope they can achieve with the new pricing structure. Another hundred bucks or so for each of my (usually) 2 trips to the DLR each year would easily be offset in the value of even a 10% reduction in those 2 groups.
  13. Soon to be known as "The Nexus of SUCK". I can't remember ever having been so turned off by any other Disney project. All this needs to be the epitome of retarded is a dolphin pool so that the drugged out and drunken rave partiers can then slip some drugs to the marine mammals, resulting in their untimely demise. link... Seriously though, I can't even imagine the suits in TDA looking over the concept art for this fiasco and then saying, "Yeah, we like this. Let's run with it." Exactly what element of society are they trying to attract with this abomination? I understand the idea of selling overpriced booze and making fat profits, but at what cost to the company reputation and family friendly atmosphere?
  14. I welcome a thinning of the crowds, or at least a certain element of the crowds that may be less likely to visit given the price increase.
  15. The woman that started the petition looked dreadful.
  16. The whole Mad T party thing still just strikes me as having suck written all over it.
  17. I agree with those who have posted in support of DLR's Space Mountain. It does seem to build intensity in the corners leading up that final swoop into the light tunnel. I never get tired of riding it. As for the worst, Ninja's ride up the lift just to be dumped into the station is pretty lame. The rest of the ride is fun, but I just wish it did something after that final lift.
  18. ^ Medusa has such good capacity that, even if not operated optimally, the people that wanted to ride it could easily get several rides in during a day at the park. S:UF on the other hand, figures to have such bad capacity that all those who would ride it would not likely be able to do so without a very lengthy wait. I doubt you'll see a short line for it on anything but the least crowded weekdays of the late 7 day a week operating season and during Holiday in the park.
  19. ^ Thank you! I've been wondering if there was a way of controlling the spinning.
  20. Why would you spend the money on an upcharge virtual queue system if the lines aren't long?
