I had to run around taking care of a few errands today. Almost everywhere I went someone would initiate a conversation about Disneyland and/or DCA (DLR in general) and how much they were looking forward to their planned vacation this summer. I really can't remember anything generating as much excitement about visiting DLR as this remake of DCA has. It seems I see a TV commercial for Carsland every 20-30 minutes or so on TV. I would expect attendance this year to be off the charts just going off of what I'm seeing and hearing from people that live 6-7 hours away here in NorCal. While I'm also excited to visit and check out all the new stuff, I'm also a little worried that the usual lull in late August into September may not exist this year.

It's good to know that those of us that remember the old Turn Of The Century being a more intense ride weren't just imagining it. I remember the pre-loops version of what's now The Demon having some scary airtime on the first drop and both of the hills. I'd sometimes wonder if it really was a more intense ride, or if it just felt that way since I was a kid back then.

I came across the following post in the Universal Orlando Resort thread and it reminded of this old thread from way back when. This really looks like an awesome concept. Does anyone happen to know if there's been an installation of this ride system yet? Are any planned? Or, has the design been rendered obsolete before it was ever built due to the Kuka arm?

The park allowing you to ride and FILM during the stunt show was awesome. Thank you for sharing that with us.

The shed wouldn't look quite so bad if not for those industrial looking doors. I'm not sure what kind of look they were going for there. Oh well, it's not like I expected a lot from it anyway.

The Tahitian Terrace was great. The Mahi Mahi they served there was one of my favorites. They had a selection of non-alcoholic drinks (of course) that were also very good. The atmosphere in the evening was pretty unique as you were sort of secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the area. I was really disappointed when they decided to remove that particular restaurant. It was my second favorite to Blue Bayou. I would love to see it make a comeback as an upscale dining option inside Disneyland.

Not much middle ground on this thing. It's either over-praised by fanboys, or ripped by those who haven't ridden it. Oh, wait... I'm on a theme park enthusiast's website. Nevermind, and carry on good sirs and ladies.

All these extensively themed new areas being added to Disney parks look almost equally awesome. I had read somewhere that DCA's Grizzly Peak, which of course features Grizzly River Run, was designed with the idea in mind that a train ride around the mountain might be added at some later date. Does anyone remember reading that, or possibly seeing concept art for it? Considering the huge expansion that DCA just received, I'm sure major changes won't be coming soon, but it's fun to compare and contrast what the different parks are doing and how much one concept may have bled over to another.

Stop at Black Bear diner just before you cross the Sacramento River on I-80. If you miss that one, there are others in Davis, Vacaville, and one right in Vallejo. Their breakfasts are freaking awesome. That'll keep you going all day. Seriously, they really are great, and literally right on your way.

Well, he can't say that any more. Just because he had gotten away with not following park policies in the past doesn't mean those policies don't apply when an employee that is doing their job properly denies a guest access to a ride for their own safety. The park should not be penalized in any way for having turned him away. However, I do wonder if the park could be penalized for having not enforced their policy consistently if the man could indeed prove that he had been allowed to ride things he shouldn't have. I understand there are ride policy signs, but enforcement of policies isn't going to be carried out by a sign.

Don't give them any ideas. Six Flags would call that "theming".

After waiting a little over 3 hours for POTC following the reopening with the movie characters several years ago, only to have the ride break down as we entered the building, I have sworn off of being at any ride opening that is likely to have that kind of wait. I'll hold off on visiting the DLR until the newness wears off a bit and I can enjoy the parks without multi hour waits for the new attractions. I'm guessing it may be September before that's the case. Any thoughts from those that are more familiar with when to expect the crowds to die down to more reasonable levels after the opening of major additions such as what we've witnessed here?

My daughter was looking over my shoulder as I was viewing the latest update. I happened to be looking at the picture below. Her comment was: "Dude, you're sick! Why are you looking at a bunch of dead lions?"

A question for those who may have an idea: How long do you think it will be before the INSANE reopening crowd levels wear off and we get back to just ordinary very busy summer crowd levels? I'm really looking forward to checking out Carsland, and all the other new additions to DCA, but I'm not too keen on the idea of dealing with shoulder to shoulder crowds. With my current work schedule, and little available time off, I'd be looking at flying in and doing a weekend visit. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Personally, I'm looking forward to riding Lex Luthor while Superman cars are ascending the tower. I'd honestly be disappointed if the rides are not run together as advertised. I think the swaying and shaking of the tower will be half the thrill, if not 3/4ths of it.

What I ment is: If it really just says 'Hamster Coaster', the name LOOKS impressive (just because of the ammount of words) but means something... simple. P.S.: Yep, I just got it (thanks to dict.cc): it's not 'profane' what I tried to say. Never try to just translate by instinct... I totally understand, since English isn't your first language.
