Gardaland / Raptor
coasterking2981 replied to Schwarzkopf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I don't think you can really compare Raptor to Baco. The only commonality they share are an inversion and train design. Still, this ride looks to be a great success for the park -
Photo TR: Opening day for Raptor at Gardaland

That train is just too cool. I applaud Gardaland for not only creating just one awesome looking ride, but a well themed one that takes advantage of the terrain and makes a lot of cool 'close calls'. -
Spring Break can't come soon enough.... I'm really glad they did this. I never rode it when it first opened (hell, I wasn't even born yet!), but when I did take my first spin on it in 2002, it ended up just being an 'ok' attraction when compared to the other big thrills at the park. Now I won't have to risk a Snooki sighting or go to Ohio just to know what it feels like to go 100mph

People make mistakes. Not saying anyone did in this case (or with the New Texas Giant), but if there was a miscalculation, we shouldn't be shocked. It's just a part of the process, right? True, however such mistakes are highly unlikely in this day and age :/ Oh well, onto the next update from the park

^ That's still no reason to bitch about it. Different companies have different styles of trains for their rides. Mack and Maurer have a different style of train than Intamin, so naturally, they don't have to use any OSTRs if they feel their style of lapbar is completely safe for a layout that utilizes an inversion or more But either way, people will complain about the small things. Even when the park officials say it's going to be made of some soft material that actually won't hurt in the case of headbanging (which looks quite unlikely for Cheetah Hunt).

In response to what someone said earlier about this ride so far having no negative responses, I think this is the one park we can all agree on that just needs something....anything, in fact, especially with how much Disney is pouring into California Adventure and Universal into Transformers. And not to mention the new (and updated) rides going into SFMM and Knott's this year. I'm happy for the park. This ride will definitely warrant a visit from me in 2012

You know, I can't believe no one has thought of this (or at least posted), but we have to remember that KBF, KI, and CP are all getting Windseeker this year...So (somewhat contradictory to my earlier statement about which park might get Invertigo) unless CP is going to pull a SFMM, it seems like it's a definite no that CP guests will find Invertigo in the park.

It's no more or less likely to go to KD than to any other park. Outside of it obviously going to another park, the only reason I think KD would not install Invertigo, at least not immediately, is if it conflicted with I305's reopening, assuming Invertigo would be that big of a draw. :/ Especially since Invertigo shouldn't be that expensive to install. Either way time will tell what happens to it and CGA...

From rcdb.com: Shuttle- a roller coaster traveling to the end of its track and returning in the opposite direction. A shuttle roller coaster's track contains a beginning and end, unlike a traditional roller coaster which forms a continuous circuit. Volcano's track and trains are similar to shuttle coasters like V2 or Possessed, but it's not a shuttle coaster. So KD is a contender for Invertigo.

Never doubt the power of GCI my friend. While it's not the greatest photo comparison, remember, Psyclone at SFMM wasn't that big of a ride, and Apocalypse (previously called Terminator) fit nicely inside Psyclone's spot and gave one heck of a ride experience (and still does). I have no doubt GCI could make something incredible of Invertigo's previous area. Plus as someone said, maybe even Gravity Group could come up with something.

^I didn't mean to sound mean, I was just pointing out that should the park fail, there's little that Ferrari could do about it -

Ferrari doesn't control the economy, so unless the global economy gets on the up and/or the park continues to have good (and increasing) attendance and make a good deal of profit, I don't think Ferrari will have much of a say in the matter. Now, obviously they could do what Disney is doing with California Adventure and spend millions more than what most parks usually would on new attractions in the hopes that it will increase attendance and make the park turn out profit, but we'll just have to wait a few years and see what happens. -
Sorry your birthday visit to the park kinda sucked. It had to be an off day though. I think the true problem of Tatsu's operations are it's operators. It should not take as long as it does for that ride to load and unload. Something needs to be done to make them move a little quicker and keep the trains moving. By the time one train hits the brakes after the turnaround, another should already start up the lift hill. Also, I'd like to ask: Was there anything wrong with Chang's trains and was it bad enough that they truly had to use Riddler's?
