Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Speaking of guests thinking coasters aren't safe....You don't know how many comments I've heard this year about people thinking Superman: Ultimate Flight at SFDK isn't safe because it goes upside-down and has lap bars. Like even some of my friends and family. I'm like, "Really? Do you really think they'd operate this coaster if they thought there was even a chance people would fall out?" Also, there was one time where I pushed against the lap bar a little to avoid being stapled in, and managed to keep a little space to allow for optimal airtime, and my friend was all like, "THAT'S SO UNSAFE!!" And I was like... "There's no where near enough space for me to fall out of this thing, I just don't like it when they push the lap bars really tight on me." -
If it's that girl with the dirty blonde hair and the surfer talk vibe, she was hella funny, definitely made time fly when were in line for V2 over the summer! "If you like this ride my name is Kaley and this is V2, if not my name is Keisha and this Kong" lol Yep, that's the one! She even said that she'll probably be operating a different ride or coaster next year, and to look out for her. I definitely will! Would be funny if she ended up operating Kong after all the friendly smack she gave it, but maybe she already has operated Kong in the past?

Yes. Do you think Colossus with the Iron Horse treatment will become the best coaster in California?

I'm with you there, 13/26 for me too. I'm not as good with the international parks, but I could usually narrow down to two answers, so when I answered wrong it was usually my 2nd choice that was correct and I chose poorly. -
Hey all! Rolercstrluvr and I went to the park yesterday and we have some possibly very exciting news! But first, a small TR. The park wasn’t too busy but not too dead either. We rode all main coasters except Roar, and except a brief breakdown of Superman, everything was running great! And.... I helped Rolercstrluvr get into the dolphin show! Stay tuned for a video of this epic event! Also, for lunch we found the hot-dog stand selling clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls. It was really yummy and a great value! I wish they sold it year-round! And now... pics! (Courtesy of Rolercstrluvr) My 10th visit to SFDK this season! Possibly the best ejector air in NorCal? Yes please! By the way, Rolercstrluvr and I wanted to compliment the ride op at V2 for her hilarious (and well-informed) comments! Her name was Kaley I believe. What got our attention at first was her jokes about Kong:"You know why they call it Kong? Because when you ride it, your head goes Kon-Kon, Kon-Kon, Kong!" "Welcome back riders! If you didn't like this coaster, go ride Kong, then you'll appreciate V2 more!" She was really funny, well-informed about V2 (including the modifications), and even engaged the audience a little. I wish all ride ops were like this, and I'll definitely be looking out for her next year! FISHIES!! HEHEHEHHEHEHEHEH!!! OOH Haunted House?? Where??? They had the cutest little penguins they were walking around! Both the bird and the trainer look bored. Baby penguins in a kiddie pool. <3 While waiting for our doom, we noticed this beautiful last sight. So beautiful. *tear* We stole this dolphin from the dolphin show. He wanted to ride Medusa. Okay, for the possibly exciting news! We were walking behind Shouka Stadium looking wistfully at it when we heard the sounds of drilling or sawing coming from the stadium. We walked around to the other side to see that the entire backdrop was gone and the water half-empty. There were several workers around covered in the same color of blue paint that the tank is painted. I caught up with one of them and asked him what they were doing in the stadium. He seemed like he didn't want to respond, but he said, "Something like restoration work." Hmmmmm.... Here are the pics we took EDIT: Rereading what was posted on Screamscape a few months ago, notice the similar word choice. Here

Thanks for the great photos, Kevin! I never rode V2 in it's original form, but having ridden Wicked Twister at Cedar Point, I can say I like V2 better! And I definitely like the new paint job better, too! I also really liked Zonga. I think I only got to ride Zonga something like five times total but I still liked it even though my last few rides were a bit painful.

Photo TR: Kevin's First Time... to Orlando!
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to Double0Kevin's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great TR! I really want to visit this park, it looks so awesome and the HP themed area is really cool! Did you not ride Jurassic Park? Also, what does Butterbeer taste like??? -
Voodoo and Boomerang and several others are closed now until the Spring. Holiday in the Park is "limited operation" so there are quite a few rides they keep closed for the duration of HiP. I went on the 27th with my family, got to see scooterdoug and get my #50 ride on Superman! Just a few things of note: --Coasters were about walk-on for the first hour of operation, then got about 30-minute lines for the rest of the day. LOTS of families with little kids everywhere! The snow hill apparently had quite the long line all day! --The dolphin show was much better than when I saw it a few weeks ago. Last time there were only 3 dolphins performing, but this time there were 7 and it made for a much more exciting show! --WORST PART OF THE DAY: Season pass processing! I should have gotten my pass processed first thing but the lure of Superman was too great for me to resist! By the time I got around to processing my pass, the line was all the way out to the giant giraffe! It ended up taking about an hour and a half!! Later in the evening it wasn't THAT long, but still long all day!

No Are you going to watch the NYC New Year's Eve celebration on NY Eve?
-
Really? Guess I haven't been around SF enough to notice all of this. My family drives an SUV for two reasons: we have 7 people with us on this trip and I can't think of any small vehicle that would fit us all, and second, we live in an area where we could possibly DIE if we drove a 2wd car esp when it's been snowing BALLS lately. People. smh.

Game: When was the last time you...
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
About two weeks ago. Won't say more but it's hilarious to look back on now. xD When was the last time you danced? -
Great TR, Angry_Gumball! I had a blast too, it was great to reconnect with some awesome TPR buddies and meet some new ones! And all at my home park! One of my highlights (singing on Taz): "andddd the Superman is on the Pandemonium and the Pandemonium was on the Tony Hawk and the Tony Hawk was on the Zonga pad and the Zonga pad was in the park and the park was in Vallejo... and the rain keeps falling all around all around and the rain keeps falling all around!" Glad you all loved Superman, and that the park was so dead we got to walk on Superman almost every time and pick whichever row we wanted! 10 rides on Superman in all, most in the acclaimed BACK ROW!!! And getting to stay on Medusa consecutively because there was no one in the queue.... AWESOME. Hope we can do it again sometime, guys!

Like me?!?!? It's really not that bad. Just bring a few crisp singles and you'll be okay. Really the only times you'll need to use them are for the coasters, and thankfully they're all grouped together in two areas. Also, does anyone want FREE parking, or would you like to pay $18? I still have an unclaimed free parking pass! It's a legit parking pass that I won in a contest, but I already have free parking on my season pass. And if you want to coordinate a meet-up ahead of time, or just have someone to contact when you get to the park, msg me!

I figure we'll decide the day of depending on what time everyone arrives. But I can say now we'll probably do Superman first, assuming we get inside the gates before opening (which is what I'm aiming for). Is this a requirement? I'm not sure I have a coaster related t-shirt or a camera... AHAHAHA.. Who am I kidding, 90% of my wardrobe is coaster stuff. Wow, I need a life.
-
I think you have that backwards. But seriously, thanks for the invite, all. If anyone wants to meet up at the park on Saturday, feel free to let me know! OH! I also want to get lunch at John's Incredible Pizza in Roseville on Sunday. I second what Kevin said, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. There's a slight chance i'll be there on Saturday, but very slight. Have fun and post a good TR! No need for a list, but glad you're excited. The only confirmation we need is a phone number PMed to me or a bright yellow T-shirt that says, "I'M A TPR MEMBER, HANG OUT WITH ME COASTER NERDS!!!" Although it will probably be easy to spot us at the park... a large group of random people wearing assorted coaster t-shirts and photographing the rides... yeah...probably not too hard to miss.

Game: When was the last time you...
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
About two weeks ago. I was having a bad day, so I went to Target to get something and wandered around there, then drove around town for a bit before I headed home. I love going on random drives, but I can't afford to do it too much unless I have an excuse. When was the last time you watched a horror movie? -
The Bay Area is kinda cold, but not as cold as where I just moved from. 3500 elevation in the Sierras, it's usually in the 20s or below most mornings, and yes, we get snow. Have you won any contests this year?
