  1. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference in a suspended coaster and an inverted coaster? cheers, Matt
  2. Fantastic trip report Divv. Being another UK boy that hasn't made it over to West coast yet, you've really inspired me to get my finger out. Its great to read your comparisons to Orlando and Paris as well. Good stuff.
  3. I'm amazed that cruise ships are allowed to set sail without first having given their muster drill. Surely this is something that all passengers need to be aware of as soon as the ship has set sail? I did my first cruise on the Cunard Queen Elizabeth (I was one of the youngest onboard incase you're wondering) in May 2011 and all guests were instructed to gather in 3 separate area's for the muster drill before we departed. How do other cruise lines operate? I'm looking to sail with RCCL in September this year and this accident definitely hasn't put me off. Like other people have said, do you not drive your car to work because people are killed in their cars on a daily basis?
  4. Awesome! What did the Disney employees say? Did they try and move you on?
  5. We'll give you Jersey Shore and call it even? We've already got it and have created our own UK version, Geordie Shore
  6. Fingers crossed they don't do an 'Everest' with it....
  7. I think the Avatar/Pandora setting is a perfect fit for Animal Kingdom, much better than Disney Hollywood Studios. Which park is in need of more additional attractions could be debated either way. Excuse my ignorance, but what do people mean when they say an 'E-Ticket' attraction? Is this just a major attraction? Why 'E-Ticket'?
  8. Yet another EPIC update! Thank you!
  9. STEEL COASTERS Apple or HTC?
  10. Another fantastic update! I need to experience oriental Disney for myself! Question for Robb (or anybody else who answer), does the Shiriki Tower work in the same way as the DLP Bad Tower, i.e. straight up and down, rather than WDW Good Tower's moving 'forward' section? Can't wait for updates 3 and 4!!!
  11. Very interesting, as there doesn't seem to be a Main Street in front of the Castle. Will probably be completely different by the time it opens. Roll on 2016
  12. Is there any update on this coaster? Matt
  13. After 11 trips to WDW between 1989 - 2008, I made my first trip to DLP 2 weeks ago. You are spot on about the the staff; rude, miserable, ignorant, sending cars round half empty. This was not the Disney experience I know and love. I'm not sure what else they could actually do with the Studios to 'fix them'. It seems like they are fairly full and I'm not sure how much room they have around the edge for further expansion? One thing I would suggest though is Fastpass for Crush. I never saw the queue below 75mins, we gave it a miss as we were only there for a few days. Is there a known reason why it isn't Fastpass? cheers, Matt
  14. I know there is nothing they could do about this, but it also seems a shame that the Buzz Lightyear ride is in DLP and not Toy Story Playland.
  15. It is a shame they didn't include TSMM. I didn't ride it when I visited MGM (yeah yeah I know...) in 2008 and it would have been good to experience it in Paris. Maybe they will add it in the future?
  16. Wow great update! I'm taking my first trip to the DLP resort on September 3rd and was worried this land might not be open. Did you get chance to go on all of rides? What was the weather like during your visit? Matt
  17. So is only Star Tours at WDW being replaced? Is there any info regarding what is happening at DLC and DLP?
  18. Robb, Am I doing something wrong? I'm viewing this thread via safari on my iPhone 4, but I can't see the video. I just get an empty space. The same happens when I click on the coaster tube link as well. cheers, Matt
  19. The best thread I've read in a while. I find it really interesting to get the 'behind the scenes' take on things from the event organisers. It is a massive shame to hear that some people were disappointed with their 'extra perks'. It's like when people at work complain about what bonus they do or don't get. At the end of the day its a BONUS! You've paid for a TPR trip, if you're not happy when you pull up to a BONUS park after hours, then stay on the bus and keep your mouth shut! I know I'm being nosey, but out of curiosity what was the BONUS PARK? I would also be interested to hear from some of the attendees about why they were 'disappointed' or felt let down? (Of course only if that is allowed Robb/Elissa?)
  20. Great report Hazmat! When did you visit? I was there on Friday June 25th. The park was dead then. If it hadn't of been for a few coach loads of Spanish kids (I think it was the last day of school term) it would've been empty. I last visited in May 2006 and the SLC was located in the now closed 'Iberia' section as previously mentioned. It was then named Tizona and built in and around a castle. I took some pictures of the castle and closed section from the observation tower. The Tizona name is still visible on the castle turrets from the boat ride. You entered the Iberia zone just past the bumper cars (the archway is boarded up now) or just past the drop tower where you had a picture taken. I guess they've closed that area to try and save money?
  21. How come my post has been deleted from this thread? The questions I asked were valid. regards, Matt
  22. Looks good. I'm very interested to what 'perks' there are for UK parks.
  23. A review from 'my side of the pond' this time. http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=13060&source=newsletter Not had a chance to play it myself yet. Looks fantastic mind.
  24. Ermm the 'kid' that asked about your age is hardly a kid like you. He's 35 and the resident monorail wizard. Scott aka Beemerboy is a quality poster.
