  1. Alton Towers Runaway Minetrain Check at 1:20. Other operators do it as well, you can see on Youtube.
  2. Chessington shut today for power failure Yesterday the Chessington website reported that the park would be closed today due to yet another power failure. Guests are being told not to bother coming to the park. Loads more money lost for Chessington then. More info on The Official Website For Chessington World of Adventures
  3. ^Lucky they don't spin insanely then. Still would be quite funny to watch though
  4. ^In the event of a power cut on ANY ride the ride emergency stops. On the coasters this means all the the brakes come on, so any car on the track will stop fairly quickly and can be evacuated from there. Everything is completely safe.
  5. The useless rag that is the Daily Mail at work again! This will happen occaisionally, just somewhat unfortunate it happened at Chessington. Not as bad as the power surge a while ago at Legoland, the ride systems sure didn't like that!
  6. Ok, check what it says on your DVDs. If it says DVD +/- R or DVD +/- or DVD Ram. If it says DVD RW you will need to read your instruction manual on how to finalise the Disc as said above. After this you will be no longer able to put anything on the Disc. If it is DVD R I'm not quite sure why it is not working. If it is DVD Ram, it is probably because your laptop can't play it. Hope this helps.
  7. First of all, most commercial VHS are copy protected, so you will be unable to copy them to DVD. The only ones you would be able to copy would be home videos. Also, is your player DVD and VHS together or are they seperate machines?
  8. Yes you are correct on the HIV infection rate front. That was rather short sighted of me. Apologies.
  9. This is mainly a message to our American Cousins. Our beloved British National Health Service (NHS) has been under constant attack in your media in relation to President Obama's Health Plan (which may I add would be fantastic for your country), I mostly want to see what the general view of normal Americans is as opposed to the media. I can say from personal experience that the NHS is fantastic. I was able to receive medical care costing £600 absoloutely free! Is that not worth having? Before anybody goes bashing our NHS let me throw in some statistics (these are your own CIA statistics mind) Infant Mortality rate: UK=4.85/1000, USA=6.26/1000 Life Expectancy at Birth: UK=79.01,USA=78.11 HIV Prevalence rate: UK=0.2%, USA=0.6% Thoughts please?
  10. Sorry but for me, the awesome original Vampire trains win hands down. Image taken from Themeuk.net
  11. Nice report. Looks like you had a great day. Just realised how long it is since I actually went to Chessington. Seems everyone I ask say the park is deserted, hope this isn't a bad omen. Vampire still looks fantastic, soon it will be only one of five Suspended coasters still in operation.
  12. ^Stealth? As said, most of them are more about twists and turns. They tend to have lower top speeds than their American cousins but Stealth is a faster accelerating coaster, accelerating from 0-80mph in 1.8 S. It accelerates nearly 4 ms^-2 than Kingda Ka. Now that is FAST.
  13. Once again thanks for the help guys. All are great ideas though I think Cedar Point and a Carousel museum might be a bit of a stretch
  14. Thanks for the responses guys. I was worried this might be the case. As for the queues are we talking Thorpe Park 2 hour queues for a coaster in summer or longer?
  15. Hey everyone, I am currently trying to persuade my family to visit Cedar Point this summer. At the moment my Mum is on my side but we want to try and find other things to do in the area ie have a holiday but include Cedar Point . Anybody any ideas in that area, places to visit, ranching etc? Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie to this Can anyone also give a clue as to what queue times are likely to be at the Point mid July. Thanks
  16. It is quite sad that they have had to finally declare it but it was kind of inevitable. I think it has been thought it would happen for a while. I am sure that Six Flags will continue to run far into the future. I don't think they are anywhere near dead. Much potential still to come.
  17. Well the SLC didn't really work but anyway.... Whore added
  18. I don't think I have posted here before, here goes: Florida New York Arizona Nevada California Colorado
  19. Trouble is all pages on Google attempt to redirect to the site which isn't working
  20. ^No it's not there. If you click through the link to Elementary it's just an advertising page. Anyone any ideas?
  21. Hey Guys, Does anyone know where to find Elementary. I've been hunting on the web for it and the main site is offline. Any ideas anyone?
  22. Hi Everyone, I decided to take a break from eating Cream Teas and reading the Sunday Times to bring you a brief insight into the town where I live, Windsor. Windsor is one of the oldest towns in the UK, still young at around 1000 years old. Windsor is home to Her Majesty the Queen, who frequently visits. Windsor is/has been home to also James Blunt, Elton John, Terry Wogan, Alex Pettyfer and many others. It often hosts state visits such as US President George W Bush and French President Nicholas Sarkozy. Anyway, Welcome to Windsor! PS: If you have any questions about Windsor, any travel plans etc don't hesitate to ask me questions! I spy the Queen is at home today! If the Union Jack flag is flying then she isn't at home; but if the Royal Standard is flying then she is at home! The River Thames and Windsor Castle The Long Walk and Windsor Castle A view of Windsor Castle from the Great Park One of the areas in Windsor Great Park One of the cobble-stone shopping streets close to the Castle The Royal Windsor Station (now mostly shopping centre) The tower where hangings used to take place. Also used to take place at the site of the previous photo. Queen Victoria outside the front of Windsor Castle
  23. ^ No, it's a winch. It's not for lightning. It was designed to be used to access the problem in an emergency. When the train got stuck on the top that time they decided to use a crane simply because it's safer and it wasn't exactly an emergency.
  24. Are you sure you need it to be Windows? What I started out with was a free host from X10 Hosting (CLICKY). I then installed Content Management AKA Joomla! There are loads of different things like this, Wordpress, Joomla etc. I'm sure there will be a Web Software package for you, which you can easily install through Fantastico, a sort of Program control panel just like in Windows. For a Free account, without Ads X10 Hosting will give you 500 MBs space and 1GB bandwidth. However if you have Ads that can increase by a lot. You can also pay for different upgrades, I think Windows is actually one of the available upgrades. On the Free accounts, X10 can sometimes be a bit unreliable, it's luck of the draw which server you are on. For an example of what you can do with free tools, you can look at my Young Enterprise website which I created http://www.avant.elementfx.com Hope this helps!
