Disney's Hollywood Studios The last time I visited this place it was MGM studios. I think this probably felt the most crowded of the parks, but the attractions it provides are still world class. Rock'n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror are amazing. I think Fantasmic is probably the best open air show anywhere. The motor stunt show is more sophisticated than any other stunt show I have ever seen. Once again a final magical day at Disney, MG out. There is no God Or you're a Dinosaur, like Jeff If you don't know what this is then you had no childhood I loved this musical Yeah Yeah stop being such a drama queen Ooooohhh Pretty Boing Boing Anty SCREAM Ewww Bugs Monsters look scary mommy Toy Story 3 More TOY STORY!! Funfairs are better than our carnivals
MG replied to atlantakid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Really, I'd have thought it the other way around. Many towns in Western Europe have far smaller roads due to their cultural heritage. -

LOL I wouldn't say that all European funfairs are better. The UK rarely has decent funfairs, and when it does they are not exactly places that you would like to visit, despite the rides. Funfairs are more popular in Europe since most European theme parks have far greater planning restrictions than US ones. -

Wow I think I've started a fanboy inferno! It was a bit of a throwaway comment really, though Epcot is imo much better now than it was ten years ago. However it still feels like two parks, not one. That is my biggest problem with it, it doesn't feel planned at all. As for the food, yeah some of it was nice. Was the food realistic of the cultures it was meant to represent, of course not. I know Disney is about seeing everything in a happy light, but I would imagine that some cultures would probably be quite surprised of the image painted of them at Epcot. Disney's Hollywood Studios will be coming in a couple of days! -

EPCOT: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow Hey Guys, thanks for all the compliments. Onto Epcot. When I visited Epcot about 10 years ago I thought it was a pointless dump. It is a hell of a lot better now, though still feels a bit odd. Half countries of the world, half future? Oh well! However when the attractions at Epcot were good they were miles above anything else. The scale of attractions such as Spaceship Earth, Soarin', Mission Space and The Universe of Energy was just astonishing. I think Soarin' was probably my favorite ride in the whole resort. On To The PHOTOS! "Here at Disney we like to be environmentally friendly" Illuminations: Reflections of Earth Ohh Ahhhh Germany More Venice Venice Zoom Nice view YUM - Funnel Cake, I'd never seen this before I came to WDW ... Land of the free apparently China Pretty Japan, I think? 90 DEGREES, sorry I only realized this while I was uploading it Gotta ask yourself the question, where are we now? Beautiful scenery Morroco Vive la Republique! Vive La France England - apparently The Universe of Energy - Also fantastic, if a little weird Mission Space - Fantastic Ride -

Hey everyone, Sorry for the break between the posts. Just haven't got around to updating it so far! I absolutely loved the Animal Kingdom, it may have even been my favorite park. The park felt far more open and natural due to all the trees. Although there are not that many attractions there, the ones that are there are especially good. Expedition Everest is simply amazing in the scale of its themeing, as well as Kali River Rapids. Whilst many on this board dislike Dinosaur I personally thought it was a great ride with an original idea. However I thought Primevil Whirl was bumpy, jerky and a waste of time. This ride really did not live up to the usual Disney standard. Onto the photos! AND Mickey, somewhere hiding near the back Donald's Boat Donald *Comes with a free BBQ Goofy* She has a lot of luggage Minnie Mouse Rafiqi The Animal Kingdom parade - A more basic, light hearted, version of the Magic Kingdom one. The Tree of Life Everest in all its glory Lion King finale The Lion King show- this show was FANTASTIC!!! Africa area Elephant I present Butt of Giraffe Jumpy Deery Thingy Rhino All the scenery is fantastic at Expedition Everest -
Thanks but I'm already back now Eventhough the parks were often packed the queues were not too bad. I am creating a PTR (slowly!) here

1) The Magic Kingdom It has been nearly ten years since I was at Disney and I was very impressed. Queues weren't too bad but it often feels quite crowded. Unfortunately Space Mountain is closed for renovations but no great loss. My favorite ride was easily Splash Mountain, it is fantastic. Philarmagic was also awesome, I think it is the best 4D show in the whole of Disney. However I did find many of the rides quite hard to find at times as they are often tucked away in a corner. And onto the photos.... Hidden Mickey? Onwards to the Animal Kingdom! Philarmagic Flying Dumbos Park overview Gateway to Tomorow Land There were so many strollers at Disney, I have never seen so many in my life! This is the Night time spectromagic parade. It was really good but the photos don't really work for it! Parade finale Cinderella The star of the show WARNING, RODENTS HAVE BEEN DETECTED IN THE AREA! This years parade is the 'Celebrate a dream come true' parade. It was really good and the song was kinda catchy. High Five Walty my man Partners "It's a small world after all" I found this photo to be quite an arty shot. There was NO photoshopping in this! Cinderella's Castle looking beautiful in the morning sunlight. Welcome to the Magic Kingdom MMM, waffles for breakfast. I think it was the biggest breakfast I have ever eaten, I went for their biggest thing, I can't remember what it was called. The gateway to the Disney property. (Sidenote: the WDW comprises 23,000 acres, that is nearly half the size of Birmingham, UK) Welcome to the USA. (This flag pretty much filled the entire view from our hotel window. It was huge, even by Windsor Castle standards) -
Hey everyone, This is a TPR of a trip I just got back from WDW with my family. We stayed at the Radisson and had a fantastic time. The TPR is in four parts. 1) Magic Kingdom 2)Animal Kingdom 3) Epcot 4) Disney's Hollywood Studios See ya real soon folks!

At the moment if you buy tickets from Disney online in the UK you will likely get a great deal. Disney are currently trying to persuade Brits to visit. You can also check Orlando Attractions for good prices. Otherwise you can check the main Disney prices if you can check your way onto the American site. However I reccomend that you give yourself more time than two days. All four parks are absolutely amazing in their own way.
-
I used to row, though I wasn't very good. However I was very tall and very light. I was often Bow man in a four. My 20 minute split was something like 2:05, can't remember really though. I did get to the semi finals of the National Schools Regatta though.
-
Hi everyone, We're off to Walt Disney World today. Still haven't booked tickets or hotels though. However we probably won't stay at one of the Disney hotels purely because they are working out more expensive than we wanted. We'll probably stay at something like the Radisson instead. See you in Orlando

HA HA, this is awesome. Talk about coincidence.

Sorry I've never been in the Alton Towers mazes. However if they are anything like the Thorpe Park ones I would advise you to definitely not take her on them. There will be more info about them at the park on the day. Just ask a member of staff what they think
-
Hi, I went to Alton Towers at Halloween a couple of years ago. There tend to be cobwebs and stuff like that everywhere but most of the scary stuff stays in the mazes. The only place to avoid would be Gloomy Hollow or whatever it is called, can't remember it's exact name. Generally I would say it is fine.
-
^Yeah, it does get pretty stressful. Thanks to both of you for the info about the hotels, I just wasn't sure how much of a difference they would make. You can look forward to a review when I get back.

My family does holidays literally at the last second. We have got to the airport before deciding where to go on one occaision because my dad works for an airline.

Hi everyone, planning a trip to WDW around the 18th to 24th October and I was just wondering what the crowds will be like. Do the schools in the states have time off then etc. Also, would anybody recommend one of the Disney hotels or would you recommend just staying off the resort. Thanks

Before this descends into an argument between Mac and Windows users, may I ask a question. Trying not to hijack this thread but would Mac users recommend the 13" or the 15" MacBook Pro. I'm just debating getting one soon for Uni, and also do you think the 9600 graphics in the 15" Pro is worth it?
-
This is weird since this is exactly the same dilemma I'm going through at the moment. A couple of years ago we bought a Dell XPS M1330. Yes, it was a beautiful machine, and very powerful. However it had one disastrous failing. That would be Windows Vista my children. I have wasted so many hours waiting for Vista to do something, anything even, that I have basically decided to switch to Mac for Uni, but have Windows 7 on it as well in Bootcamp. Dam you Microsoft and that heap of bloated rubbish called Vista. (Vista is so bad it is almost like the bastard child of Norton and AOL combined)

I love how you all have automatic cars, here Manual is the norm. As for the cars, in the UK, Hondas are for old people, Mazdas are sweet cool little sports cars. Having said that, the UK Honda Civic is awesome, though your cars are always about double the size of ours. Demo UK Honda Civic UK Ford Focus The Ford Focus is just to demo different car sizes. However, my advice, though probably wrong for where you are, is to get a little sporty manual Mazda. Yeah, it will be unreliable as hell and a pain to drive, but at the end of the day, it will be sooo much more fun EDIT: I just thought that there is a certain irony in me posting in this thread considering my member name, not that my member name was meant to be affiliated with the car marque

THORPE PARK's New Queueing System
MG replied to Koolkid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As usual, I must resist the temptation to have a rant about Thorpe Park. Though, this is clearly stupid. I hope, as said above, that this is temporary. However, knowing Thorpe, I wouldn't put it past them. -
Thank you your royal highness for the privelege of a custom title, even if I do detest the vile substance known as SPAM
-
Dear Title Fairy, I come humbly before you to beg a title from your majestic grace. As your divine majesty will already know I have succeeded in reaching the hallowed post number (even if I took a long time to do it). Therefore I ask you to place upon this person a fitting title for someone of your realm. Preferably something to do with my own country, the United Kingdom, although of course it is less important than your majestys'. I thank your highness in advance.

Really nice report. I like the history being mixed in. Has Big Dipper been running since its 'bump'.
