Track Spottings!
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
-The 200 ft coaster is Superman -The water ride is Penguin's Blizzard River But we still havent received the rest of the approved attractions. I'm hoping that GADV's ferris wheel is not leaving that park and coming to SFA as the approved 120 ft ferris wheel. (if its not 120 ft then whoops lol, dont know how tall that thing is) Here's the link, Washingtonpost.com I think a B&M stand-up is perfect for a HUGE announcement the park has yet to announce. It's a good theory, don't get me wrong, but it also doesn't mention Batwing at all. So, you could be right, and this could be the "Fabled Stand-up Coaster of Six Flags America" But, that stand-up could have been changed to a Vekoma "lay-down" coaster. So you could be right, and that article does make a very good argument,(EDIT:) and the seventh attraction could be Batwing The proposed stand up for SFA was dropped in favor of Batwing only because KD no longer wanted the ride thanks to CGA's model being a disappointment, they both had the same attraction # on the list & were listed as attraction # 37.SFI has LONG since abandoned that proposed site plan for SFA that was proposed ten years ago so this mystery B&M is not heading to MD. that's for sure. Besides if this were a project for SFA then track would've been delivered last fall.Going by previous experience with the park I know that track for superman arrived in the fall of 99 & that was a large scale project for them in terms of the amount of track needed for the ride & Batwing's track began arriving in early december,2000 just before the ride recieved county approval for construction. -

I saw that article as well(it came from news plus notes) & as I mentioned way back in my first post this explains why the customer name is listed as X Works. It hasn't been until now thanks to this thread that we've been trying to determine the specific model of coaster based on the initials on the label such as "MC","SC" etc. so the plant has been requested to conceal just the customer name, rather than the model. -

WTF! Since when did CF,and more specifically KD start shutting FOF down on weekends especially during peak season?Of course it's easy to figure out a possible reason as there are 5 launch systems between the three rides (V:TBC with 2,BL:TC with 2 & FOF with 1) all operating simultainiously on the same power grid for that specific section of the park but other than that it just makes no sense to close one of the park's signature coasters on days when potential ridership is at it's highest. Now when I went to KD back in july FOF was running & had a HUGE line that would only move about five feet every 10 to 20 minutes starting in the outer queue, thus proving the ride was indeed operating on a saturday.Of course I didn't stay in that slow moving(more like no moving) line for very long before giving up & going on other rides during that visit. -

I feel likes it gotten better with Dominator being added, not quite as ridiculous as it used to be at least. The major problem I've encountered when going to KD on weekends is the traffic on I-95 southbound....it becomes a total parking lot from my neck of the woods to just south of Fredericksburg. I'm sure that the traffic on I-64 eastbound is no better what with everyone in their mother making the pilgrimage to BGE & Va.Beach for the weekends, not to mention the various tourist traps along the way. -

While that remains a possibility wouldn't the plant just use the real customer name like they did for the Chimelong Paridise coasters? -

Look at the ID in the customer info & compare it to other rides & you'll see that an invert, mega & flyer have already been ruled out which leaves only sit down, standup(highly unlikely) or floorless as the model of ride that the track is for. I do believe however that this is track for a CF project, which specific CF park it's for remains to be determined of course. -

The invertigo models pull upwards of 5 G's while going through the loop on the reverse run.Sitting up front on two face(facing the top of lift #2) was a pretty intense experience when traveling through that loop in reverse. -

As spoiled rotten as SFMM is I don't think Snyder & CO. would spend that much money on an expensive project such as this....that & the fact that all of SFMM's other steel coasters have typically been delivered in the mid to late summer in the years prior to their opening. -

KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If that were true then the customer name would read "Gueaga Lake" & not "X Works". That's what the shipping label read on one of Dominator's track sections when it was delivered to KD in october,2007. -

LOL,why not just email Walt & Claude on the B&M site & inquire about any US installations for the 09/2010 season...and while they're at it they can also inquire about the coding used to identify track type as well? -

Good question, although I doubt that the online coaster community was as massive 10 years ago(when Scorcher was installed) as it has become today so photos would probably be few & far between. -

Well it looks like we can rule this one out as being an invert or flyer, the only possibilities are hyper, floorless, standup(fat chance) or standard looping, which increases the possibility that this is for a domestic rather than an international/overseas project IMO. -

all my years in manufacturing, often see Customer Xworks Customer DDU Customer DDP x-works = the customer will arrange the transportation from the factory to the final destination. no need to stick an actual customer name on the label - the Job number tells the system who the customer is plus it means any visitors from customer 1 at your factory don't see customer 2's name on stuff you are building. Not this one from their dive machine. That pic appears to have a date stamp of 10/2004 & back then obviously the plant was still using the full customer name on each part. Thanks to enthusiasts "spying" for lack of a better term the plant has since been ordered to conceal the customer names on each part so as to prevent us from figuring out what park it's going to. -

KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So what about that red dive machine track that was produced there for the one at Happy Valley in China? Or the track for Crystal Wings that was produced there? Well there are flatbeds sitting out near the track rather than shipping containers so that's a start in proving that it's probably for a US installation. -

All they'd have to do is repaint the ride(Scream!) on site just as they've done with Medusa east. It's quite difficult, but not impossible to reprofile a steel coaster but why bother with the expense when the ride seems to work just fine? I still think it may be one of the rumored hypers for either KD or Carowinds(fat chance on it being for the latter) because of the production schedule. If it were for a looping coaster then we would've known about it months ago as it would've been shipped towards the end of the 08 season, not towards the end of january,09. -

KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I relly do belive that carowinds is getting somthing big maby floorless. After all that would fit in nicley at carowinds. If by "big" you mean a used boomerang then definitely but a hyper or floorless in 2010 nahhh. How many times must it be said that the Ohio plant ONLY produces track for B&M's US & Canadian markets? This isn't a ride being produced for an Asian or Mid-East park,it's most likely for a US park for 2010 which is why production has just now begun. -

KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If that were the case then CP would've probably gotten Dominator instead of KD.Still my bet is that it is probably for a CF park. -
Track Spottings!
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Carowinds is out as they're getting GL's boomerang for 09 & as a result probably won't be seeing a new coaster (or another used one for that matter) for a while & SFA is out simply because corporate simply doesn't give a flying fig about the place so the most likely possibiltiy is KD. Granted CP hasn't added a coaster in three years & VF sure doesn't have anything from B&M so it could very well be a project for either of these two parks as well. -
Track Spottings!
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well if the project is massive enough track fabrication & shipping may need to be done now so that construction can begin, this is basically what they did for both Behemoth,as well as Diamonback after all. SFA wouldn't get a B&M,heck they can't even get something as cheap as a THBS clone & SFI cheated them out of SFNE's cancelled 08 coaster by giving it to SFM for 09 instead so that really leaves a CF park as the only possible candidate. Keep in mind that the section of track that looks to be for an inversion may, just may also be the pullout for a drop but because it is sitting rail side down it may appear to be for the entrance/exit of an inversion...of course I could be wrong though. -
Track Spottings!
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt CGA as they couldn't even get that woodie for 09. My best guess is that it's for one of the CF parks(hopefully KD) for 2010 because SF certainly can't afford any B&M's right now. -
Track Spottings!
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It wouldn't be track for a European or Australian park as the Ohio plant manufactures track for only the US & Canadian markets. It could be track for KD's rumored 2010 hyper or maybe that "huge 09 addition" that SFA keeps touting on their facebook page(fat chance of course but I had to throw that in there) which makes the most sense because for a hyper in the CF chain track usually has been shipping early these days. I saw something on coastercritic's blog recently about how the plant no longer lists the actual customer name on each segment so as to keep enthusiasts from figuring out which park it's going to until the project is announced...hence the "I-works" name listed as "customer" on the label that's affixed to the track in the photos. -

SFA also had one,Iron Eagle but it was scrapped when Snyder took over due to it's unreliability. It was a suprisingly smooth ride(when it was running) but was certainly intimidating to say the least when the time came for my first ride on it.
