Once again I had to scrap my intimidator track, this time because the stupid track was twisting itself when trying to connect to the brakerun. -

I just checked the webcam a few minutes ago....looks like those footers off to the left of the station will probably be for the transfer/storage track. Great pics Brian....any chance of posting them on KDfansite? -

What is it with I-95 being a parking lot between Woodbridge & Fredericksburg?Every time we've gone this season that's what it's been & US-1 was no better last time we tried a couple weeks ago, perhaps sunday's traffic will be light enough that we won't have to go through that mess yet again. -

The "Preview" Thread

^Nice,I'll download it when it's ready for release. My intimidator project is going along well,I had to use the same turn around element that I used on the green hornet but after testing in the sim the only real G spikes are at the bottom of the first drop & the turn around since that is AHG'd. I hope to possibly have some progress screens up sometime soon. -

You havn't gotten a single lap on the Grizz yet this season? Man was the ride performing sweet after the monsoon back on the 22nd. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's a nice fit for CP & does fill the niche for both a water flume ride & coaster....it sorta reminds me of SFA's skull mountain when it first opened back in 97. I'm not too much for water rides myself but on a hot day this wouldn't be too bad to have at KD at some point in the future & would fit into the old virginia theme section just fine. -

Why not upload it to the NL exchange site? I've started doing that with my tracks seeing as how they've gotten such negative reviews here. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Like it or not, CP has certain expectations that come with being one of the highest profile parks on the planet. I'm sorry, but I don't think a new coaster every 3/4 years is asking too much for a place like CP. Now if I was saying Kennywood should be adding a multi million dollar coaster every couple of years, that would be ridiculous, because they obviously are not in the same league as a place like CP, hence the expectations are completely different for a place like that. I'm not saying CP has to have a new coaster every 3 to 4 years or I'll throw a tantrum but I don't think that fans expecting that are asking too much is all. Not to mention there are tons of parks that are much lower on the amusement park food chain that do add a new coaster on average of every 3 to 4 years. So I don't see why that's asking too much of CP. That type of thinking may have been the norm almost 20 years ago but we ARE in a recession(thank you MR. Bush) & CP's attendance HAS been negatively effected by it so there's no sense from a financial standpoint in installing yet another coaster when not many people in their target market(especially Detroit) can even afford to visit the park. I think CP is learning that they can go years without a new coaster & the only ones it will really effect are the enthusiasts who've been spoiled over the years & as a result come to expect certain things of the park that aren't going to happen all the time like clockwork....that's a lesson that certain SF parks could benefit from learning as well. -

Supports for the brakerun & final hill are up & word has it on KD's twitter that a big crane is being brought in so we should see some major construction soon. -
I'm aware, but if you do a little research you'll see that Six Flags came in and completely scrapped and re-themed the whole park, with totally new themed areas, a new entrance, etc. If you go to SFAfans.com you'll see the concept drawings from when the park opened in '99. That's just the problem in this case, many of the concepts never became a reality thanks to Burke & Co. going on an SFMM,SFGRAM & SFGRADV expansion kick at the expense of the remaining parks.

DT has a test seat IIRC & it's restraints are the same as volcano's so if you can fit on DT then you should be good to go on volcano as well. As for VA. Beach: I'd recommend plenty of sun tan lotion...especially on your feet(my GF got burned pretty bad on her back last month & I got burned on my feet while at Rehoboth a few weeks ago) but if you do get burned try some aloe vera lotion or gel...it works wonders for sun burn.

Why does everyone think SFA should go? I found it to be a very nice park, and it's in a very large Metropolitan area. With a little more investment and advertising, they could be the dominant over King's Dominion. SFI hasn't done any bit of real good with the place for nearly a decade & what with KD's new giga set to debut next season the writing's on the wall as far as competion is concerned....I mean SFI wouldn't even give the park something inexpensive as a THBS clone when they really needed it so why would they start now?
