  1. Could be because you don't have a utility like MS paint or Nero to open the pics.I'm always able to find my screens no problem.
  2. Perhaps they're facing noise concerns as a reason to remove the ride? There's no marketing value in installing an SLC at a park that has a B&M invert as they're both the same basic type of ride experience. That ranks right up there in stupidity with the whole removing chang to send of to SFGRAM rumor when they already have a standup coaster there.
  3. This makes no sense at all, unless their B&M invert is being relocated or scrapped.
  4. ^Nice, what expansions are you using?
  5. If any park should recieve chang it should be SFA since A:they recently lost a coaster(accidents happen when corporate cuts the maintenance budget) and B: They're the ONLY park in the chain that hasn't recieved a new coaster in going on ten years now but what with SFI's feelings towards the park I got the feeling that Snyder only bought the chain so he could eliminate a threat to his beloved fed ex field & what with intimidator debutting at KD next season the park doesn't stand a chance of staying open if something isn't done soon.
  6. While I don't see any of the yellow supports, I do see three cranes on site. There is one to the right of the picture and two others. It looks like they're putting together the crane that will eventually complete the top of the lift hill. The crane pieces sitting in the parking lot are close to the same shade of red as the track only a bit darker in color. Once again KD's webcam is blank!!!! ughhh I really hate the lack of investment in being able to provide quality updates on construction of this coaster.
  7. Like I pointed out in the SFGRAM thread it makes no sense whatsoever to move a coaster that is similar in vehicle type to a park that already has such a ride because there's simply no marketing value to the ride since guests will see it & say "ohh it's just another standup coaster didn't we already have one of those for years?".If so it's just SFI's way of following in CF's footsteps & ruining a park that they never had any intentions of keeping & another issue comes to mind:SFI is currently in bankruptcy proceedings & they cannot redistribute any of their assets(ie move rides from one park to another) until the bankruptcy matter is resolved in court. CF could do this in the case of GL,or even SFI in the case of AW as there were no bankruptcy proceedings in place when either of those parks were closed.
  8. That is rediculous to move chang to SFGRAM when it has NO marketing value whatsoever since the park already has a standup coaster, that from what I've read isn't very popular to begin with. I guess SFI is getting desperate thanks to the bankruptcy if they need to start pulling a GL & ripping out rides from parks they've purposely chosen to neglect for years on end just to spoil their other parks rotten....and speaking of the bankruptcy proceedings IIRC SFI isn't allowed to redistribute it's assets until the matter is settled in court so this rumor may prove false after all.
  9. I might be starting work on an intamin launcher named blue flash, which will be a sort of follow up to my last launcher, the green hornet but this time with a non inverted tophat & a much better designed overbanked curve. I'll post progress screens, and a separate thread once I get started on the project.
  10. The combined weight of the two pieces can't be no more than that of let's say DM track given the size & if you've seen that build it bigger episode showing Griffon's construction you'll recall that they were easily able to lift two rather large sections that were bolted together on the ground with a couple of cranes.
  11. Sounds great, can't wait for more screens.
  12. That's the thing:Nessie is some 31 years old as of now so shouldn't it have passed the end of it's "service life" long before BBW even did? Both rides are made of steel after all & the track requires the same basic maintenance such as paint on a regular basis to help slow down oxidation but the park simply didn't want to put forth the cap ex to maintain it any further & chose the easier option....to just get rid of it.
  13. Take a look at the webcam the lower section of the lift is now in place!!! KD's twitter has a really good closeup of the first section being installed too,not sure about their facebook page yet though.
  14. First DF & now BBW,I'm sure that nessie is soon to follow as BGW is just on a hate/hate relationship with Arrow these days. When DF was yanked the excuse(more like the lie) given was that ridership suffered due to poor engineering of the ride when it was really due to poor placement & now the excuse(or lie) given in the case of BBW is that they need the space for a new ride when the DF site has PLENTY of space to build a decent sized coaster alone.
  15. I don't think so as they've had so many problems with TTD,now a KD intimidator clone maybe but don't expect much more than that but that doesn't have much to do with the whole snoopy retheme of the former paramount parks does it? They should retheme CWL's kidzville along with the other kiddie sections, after all they're doing it at KD & it should provide a refreshing change for all of the parks IMO.
  16. Why thankyou! I usually sketch out a rough layout on Paint before I start to build a coaster, although I don't seem to be able to build a good steel coaster at all It's an overall quality layout,I downloaded it off the NL exchange the other day & I must say that you did an excellent job of handbuilding this track. Woodies may be easier to build because you can enable auto supports in the editor & use that as a rough guide for shaping hills unlike the steel coasters which are harder to shape & even more time consuming to support.
  17. At least the weather hasn't dampened the crew's ability to work so it must be clearing out down there while it's still raining up here.
  18. Not sure but I don't think NL has that option.
  19. Well looking at the progress of the ride which inspired it(the webcam is currently messed up though) it appears there won't be a seperate support column just before the vertical transition.
  20. Funny thing about the setup on shockwave vs the similar setup on woodies. On woodies the guide wheels don't fit tightly, otherwise the train would never make it through the slightest curve & would bind instead & yet we don't complain about the roughness associated with it half as much as we do on steel coasters. Being a B&M Dominator has the fully locking wheel sets & yet I've still had some headbanging on the ride(varies from train to train & ride to ride) so it's not just the wheels that contribute to a smooth ride. What matters most is the track geometry as many others have said.B&M & intamin have the benefit of newer computer software to help them heartline a ride while Arrow only had the most primative of computer hardware/software to work with although their suspendeds sure turned out to be among their smoothest rides ever made.
  21. I'm just as lost in using newton as you are & could really use a picture based tutorial for it,along with AHG because I havn't a clue on how to really use either one.
  22. The Togo standups & Premier lim bowls all have their wheels gripping the rails at once so contrary to poular belief that's not exactly what causes undue roughness....poor track geometry does play a major part however especially on the older Arrow rides because the banking & transitions into the curves aren't heartlined properly.
  23. Try using the pre-fab supports,I did that on Green hornet & it seemed to work.
