  1. Add me to the list of people who prefer this TOGO to any B&M stand up I have ever been on. If you ride it right it is actually quite a bit of fun! Backseat and keep your head back against the headrest like the sign says and you have nothing to worry about. And remember to prepare for that sudden stop at the end LMAO! Best seat in the house is car four, row one, left side.I've ridden countless times without any pain below the belt afterwards...you've just gotta brace yourself during the transition into the helix & that tight turn leading to the brakerun.
  2. Can't wait to see shockwave in person sunday after seeing Clint's update those colors look great.Since they did a full rehab on wave swinger I'd love to see a sign at the entrance,it's the only ride in the grove that I'm aware of that's never had a sign at it's entrance.
  3. Not a good idea to use an onboard PLC to control rotation, remember how much trouble vekoma has had on the two 2nd gen flyers that used onboard PLC's?...and that was just to raise & lower the seats,as well as monitor restraints let alone rotating them during the ride.
  4. Nice looking sht of 305,I'll be sure to snag a few on my first visit....of course I rarely use the maps to get around the park but I definitely enjoy collecting them & doing comparisons of how the park is changing over the years.
  5. That's a bit of a bummer. I rode it at the end of last year and it was giving good rides. I was hoping to get a ride on it opening weekend. Same here, the park just doesn't feel complete without a ride on Grizz. Had my last ride of the 2010 season on Grizz in the orange train & it wasn't quite as smooth as yellow, granted I was sitting in a wheel seat but it still could've been better.
  6. Just read on kdfansite that Grizzly will be down till may for re-tracking,they just retracked it a couple years ago!
  7. True but I kinda wonder if the fatal accident just the year before had anything to do with it? I mean maybe they were thinking if they changed the colors a bit it would help folks to forget that "someone died on that black & yellow coaster last year" mentality. I'm all for the new colors & CF made a wise decision(for once) in choosing a color combo that's eye catching & yet easy on the eyes at the same time,as for the trains I'm hoping they go with a color scheme similar to Raptor with the black/purple green combo in som fashion but anything's gotta be better than orange.
  8. While I'll hit up DT an average of once a visit it's just not a "high" priority on my list of flats in the park's lineup.
  9. I was a washing machine once LMAO.....sorry but I hope you meant fortunate. I would honestly rank KD coasterwise as one of the best parks in the US, just need to get some good flat action going. I second that as their flats leave something to be desired...the only half decent ones are triple spin, wave swinger & the occasional ride on americana for a relaxing break from the action but other than that there's not much in the lineup.
  10. Which explains why I personally don't care for these sorts of polls or the AT GT awards as the latter looks rigged what with the same coasters being on the list year after year & the fact that the parks included(cough SFNE cough) probably pay AT BIG money to ensure that a certain ride of theirs always wins. This thread has become a bore to read lately because of all the bickering over a rather senseless poll when we could be discussing what's going on at the park in preparation for opening day...I'm much more interested in seeing how the repaint of shockwave is progressing than to hear a bunch of whiney enthusiasts complaining about a poll that has since ended & posted it's results for the world to see.
  11. why would SFMM want three of essentially the same ride? Because it's yet another coaster in their collection, don't forget Dorney will have 3 inverts(two of which are shuttles right next to each other no less) next season so I wouldn't put it past the idiots at SF to do it. Whatever happened to the name "x-raptor" for this ride? couldn't CF sue them for using the name Raptor much like they got sued by SF when using the name voodoo?
  12. I don't see CF really going for the DM's anyway as the layouts are very limited in what can be done due in part to the width of the trains.....notice the lack of traditional loops on almost all of the DM's that have currently been built?
  13. The Busch parks have an exclusive contract for a few more years on the DM so it wouldn't be that.
  14. Sorry but it isn't.I never bother wasting time riding it as a good invert should consist of more than just three heartline rolls back & forth around a fake mountain. In a way it's not a true coaster to me as all it does is wind it's way down along the outside of the mountain with no uphill elements like those found on a typical invert...give me an SLC over it any day.
  15. The original color scheme was great. I barely remember it and when I saw pictures of the old colors after being used to the new ones I remembered how much I liked them. When I saw the colors in 2000 I was like ughh!!! so anything other than that would definitely be an improvement.
  16. Was just now remembering this, the colors could very well be the same as on Raptor & Hydra.
  17. I recall reading on FB this morning that someone posted the new colors as green track, teal supports ewww!!! Would make sense though if they plan on using the old trains from KI's standup which were green.
  18. Well hopefully whatever colors they've chosen will be an improvement over what paramount did to it 11 years ago...I'm thinking purple track, yellow supports?
  19. I dunno, looking at the entry into the second hill it no longer seems to have the same angle of entry as before thus IMO reducing the airtime but I guess we'll find out in a couple more weeks.
  20. Last I recall hearing was that Chance Morgan recalled most chaos rides due to a problem with the restraints, funny thing about that is when I last rode SFA's chaos before it was removed the restraint did feel rather loose so I was not looking forward to flipping the ride half as much as I used to.
  21. Because people logged on with multiple accounts to repeatedly vote but who cares? With opening day less than one month away who's planning on going?BTW I saw some interesting post galaxi/pre shockwave pics on KD's FB page this morning.
  22. I can't believe I just read through two whole pages of this rather stupid crap....who cares about a stupid poll? it's not gonna impact either park one way or the other as people will primarily "vote" in favor of whichever ride is closest to them.
  23. GL was doomed from the moment Premier parks decided to aqquire SF & rebrand the park only to neglect it just a few short years later.
  24. This is how it started with GL,X-flight left during the 06-07 offseason & next thing you know the park was closed at the end of 07. As for Carowinds getting two coasters under CF:they're in a different market than VF so this is why I just don't see VF getting a major coaster so soon after getting a relocated one from Dorney...much less a B&M.
