  1. That actually makes sense, because the reason its bad at Six Flags is because its Six Flags. Despite Cedar Fair being a cut above, if I were JR I'd want to run or at least train those locations myself to protect my brand.
  2. I think Cedar Fair had Johnny Rocket's on lockdown (I could be wrong). It'll be the world's largest Panda Express. Also no Starbucks, they're not classy enough. It'll be a blatant Starbucks ripoff. "SpaceDollars" No there are Johnny Rockets at SFDK, and now that I think about it there's one at SFMM, or there was when I was there last summer as I remember buying a shake - I think thats the only time I've ever bought any food in the park! Anyway so it's not exclusive to Cedar Fair. Personally I think it's an abomination to even call those in-park locations a Johnny Rockets. The food they serve is as bad as any other bland no-name park food, nothing like the awesome food you get in a normal Johnny Rockets. That company should be angry at what this poor product is doing to their reputation. I'm sure many people buy the park food first and assume thats just what Johnny Rockets is and then never go to one of the restaurants.
  3. Labor Day Weekend is always crazy. Both will be busy but I think Labor Day will probably be a little more.
  4. ^ OK sorry you meant big as in literally not like big expectations, my mistake. Colossus takes up quite a bit of room I think they have a lot to work with so we might be pleasantly surprised.
  5. Huh? Are you implying that Outlaw Run or Iron Rattler are anything short of spectacular? I'd be ecstatic if we got anything that great.
  6. Can't argue with the kiddie coaster, but Green Lantern is the first ZacSpin in the US (even if it is neutered) and YOLOCoaster though short still has the tallest loop and the first double sided track and turned out to be a great ride. Its also maybe a way to get some more people to buy a SP if theyre at the park today and want to ride it.
  7. Yeah the right side is not in operable condition. Running it today was not an option, they would have to have started rehabbing it a long time ago and they arent going to do that just to shut it down again. I thought they ran both sides at least as recently as 2012 Fright Fest? Did they not run forwards AND backwards for 2013 Fright Fest? I believe 2011 was the last time they ran both for fright fest (I rode it during FF 2012 and only they were only running the left side with B&M trains), and I could be mistaken but to my memory I think 2011 FF is the last time the right side has been run at all. They definitely weren't using it at all during 2013. In the last couple years you could see the condition of the tracks and lift deteriorate as time went on, it looked completely abandoned as though they had made a planned decision to let it go.
  8. Nice to get that kinda-confirmed, thanks. Also kind of sounds like it's not the chain.
  9. Yeah the right side is not in operable condition. Running it today was not an option, they would have to have started rehabbing it a long time ago and they arent going to do that just to shut it down again. Me too, but if that was all they were going to do they wouldn't be promoting the end of the ride like they are.
  10. I don't think there's any hope for it without a complete conversion to topper track. I wouldn't touch the layout, but I'd like to see RMC put topper on it. I dont think RMC has ever worked with CCI, that's an interesting prospect.
  11. Werent they allowing cameras on-ride during the portions of the marathon that the rest of the park was closed? It looked like it from the photos/footage I saw.
  12. I still have this VHS, and it's BEAUTIFUL. So cheesy and bad. Is there a way one can digitize VHS tapes? Maybe I can put it on YouTube, Yes, with the right equipment (which isn't expensive) it's quite easy. The way I usually do it is with a dvd/vhs combo vcr - dub the vhs to a dvd-rw, copy to pc, upload, erase dvd-rw, repeat.
  13. I know it used to have one which I heard was a test for possibly using it elsewhere, but I think at some point that test concluded. Evidently they decided not to move forward because I haven't seen any others.
  14. But Hersheypark and Cedar Point are? Actually one could argue that SFMM is the most "Theme" park there is, the theme is YOLO. (That's not a joke.)
  15. ^ Sounds to me like a "soft closing" - the ride will be operating as normal but you will need to show an SP to enter the queue.
  16. ^ Full capacity means as many trains as the coaster's circuit can handle at once. Many coasters at SFMM don't even have that many operable trains. Except for Green Lantern I don't think any coaster has more than 2 working trains. Ninja currently only has one. If the lot was full all the way to Scream and they were running Tatsu's 2nd station (Are you sure they were using both at once, not just the side you arent used to? They use both stations throughout the year, just rarely both at once) and both sides of SEFK at once then that was definitely not a normal Tuesday, there must have been an event going on making the park busier than usual.
  17. ^ Obviously what he means by "full capacity" is that there weren't any coasters lengthening their queue by running less trains than necessary. Actually we know that can't be true because Ninja only has one train, but it's likely that there just weren't many people queuing for it that day.
  18. That's what we try to do, push expectations down so low it's more difficult to be disappointed They do have flash pass capability on both sides, but its possible they may have only been running it on one. There's a flash pass door on the side of each building but it's easy to miss if you don't know where to look for it. I'm surprised they were even running both sides of SEFK at all on a Tuesday, that usually only happens on Saturdays and Holidays/Event Days.
  19. Seriously doubt you will need a fast lane pass unless there is a special event. Gold Striker is usually the only line that gets long, that activity will probably migrate to Flight Deck but it should still be manageable. Don't by a FL ahead of time, save the cash and then just buy one at the park if you find it busier than expected. Sorry to hear Gold Striker is likely to be down on your only visit to the park, it really is a gem.
  20. Looks like the perfect compliment to Theme Park Studio, which is more based in current reality. I look forward to creating some deadly coasters. I might actually have to buy an Xbox for this if it doesn't get a PC release.
  21. Wow I hadn't seen that before and just looked it up, that's terrible. Much worse than the Viper wrapped train at SFMM.
  22. I don't mind the advertisements in the park or even in the station, but when they start wrapping the vehicles with advertisements like on Viper that really bothers me.
  23. Superman only has flash pass by upcharge reservation, so that wouldn't be the reason. It was probably someone puked or expelled another bodily fluid in that row before you got there, or possibly a temporary problem with the seat belts.
  24. ^ I was pretty much Hurricane's biggest fan and I like Undertow more. It's smoother, higher capacity, and it really is a different ride every time.
