There used to be a monorail, but all that's left are a couple supports and the ruins of an old station. Currently all they have in the way of transportation is the Oriental Express, a two way funicular that shuttles you up and down the steep mountain. On really hot days it becomes my favorite ride in the park.

That and I like the fact that I dont ever have to bother with renewing my pass. I don't like seeing the Psyclone trains sitting out there uncovered. They always kept them covered when they were sitting in transfer..make it look like they're going to be scrapped. I hope someone steps in and preserves those in some way. Maybe B&M will take 'em...I could see them wanting to hang onto them.

I'm optimistic about operations on Twisted Colossus. Although SFMM deservedly gets a bad rap for overall operations, X2 has always been an exception as well as (usually) YOLO and Goliath. Even Tatsu usually has pretty good ops (as good as can be on a flyer that by its nature takes longer to dispatch) despite never using the second station until recently. SFMM clearly puts their best operators on their most popular rides, so it stands to reason that as long as TC is popular it should have adequate operations.

To be honest Im fine with that sign... I do not think any park would have an "our train got destroyed so we only are running one train for now" sign still funny though I would so stop and take a photo in front of that sign! Even better it should say "One of our trains ran over a tree so we're only running one while we rebuild another second one from parts that have been sitting around for years"

Re: the giant hole in Colossus' structure there's an interesting story that goes along with that. It's also the reason you don't see supports in the middle of that turnaround like you normally would on a wooden coaster of this era. MM originally intended to put tables in the middle of that turnaround and make it a picnic area. Bizarre. That'd be a loud place to eat lunch.

Run to Superman immediately and get as many rides as you want right away. Within a few hours after opening, the line will be very long due to the one 12 person car and it is my favorite ride at the park. Make sure you get to ride in the backseat at least once. Afterwards, I would recommend hitting Roar since the park tends to run one train on it and since they retracked the first drop, it is a very fun ride. Other than that, the coaster lines are manageable. Medusa should be about 20-30 minutes from noon on (it gets the longest line immediately after opening), Roar and Boomerang should be 10-20 minutes, and V2 should be a walk-on or a one train wait most of the day. The only other ride that will have a long line is the Sky Screamer (40-60 minutes). Since you have gold passes, as long as you aren't wanting multiple rerides of Superman in a row, you should instead start with Medusa since thats all your gold pass is good for as far as early entry. SFDK doesn't have gold pass entry into the park, they have gold pass entry into Oasis Plaza where Medusa, Kong, and Sky Screamer are at. When you come into the park and approach the plaza they will have a rope up, go to the right side of the rope and they will have a seperate line for gold pass holders. This will get you into the plaza 10 minutes early, though the coasters won't open any earlier so it really just gets you onto the first or second Medusa train. (I found out last time I was there that they wont even let you line up early for Kong, the entire queue is closed until park opening, so Medusa is literally the only thing to do with "early entry") From there hit Kong and then Skyscreamer if you want, and then make a B line for Superman. Though the Superman line can appear long, it almost always has A+ operations, so it moves much faster than it should. If the lower queue is totally full, you're still only looking at 30-40 minutes. By this time of day youll probably have about 3 switchbacks full, maybe 30 min wait I'd guess. After that hit Roar, if it's running two trains the line moves faster, if it's running one train it moves very slow, but theyve been doing two lately and it has been recently retracked and is running better than ever. V2 almost never has any kind of line anymore, so you can hit that whenever, and Boomerang is by itself if you're feeling sadistic and want to ride it. There are actually 0 signs in the entire park pointing you to Boomerang (I've looked), if you want to ride it take the M&M stairs that are on your left as you're heading to Oasis Plaza from the front gate and turn right at Toyota Stadium, then youll run right into it on your right. I usually ride it once at the end of the day and that usually prompts me to head for the parking lot Last I checked Superman was the only thing not on the Flash Pass, it was a reservation upcharge like X2 or YOLO. If you want to ride it a bunch of times then head there first and forget the gold pass, then do Medusa on your flash pass.

These days its a pickem between YOLO and X2. Personally I usually go to YOLO first because X2's line tends to die more in the latter half of the day than YOLO, but you could go either way. Whichever you choose, its a good idea to go to the back of the park next because with most of the people starting at X2/YOLO and going from there the back of the park is always dead in the mornings. I'd go YOLO, GL, Batman/Riddler, Apocalypse, then work your way from there. Also I bet Scream! is probably going to be super dead all day every day since it was relatively unpopular to begin with and now is all by itself in that corner.

Adventuredome Discussion Thread
singemfrc replied to gisco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To answer your question seriously, my guess would be the S&S plant in Utah. I hear they still do a lot of work on the old Arrows. Can't imagine anywhere else it would come from...plus it's not all that far away. Yeah that would have had to come from S&S. They "are" Arrow Dynamics nowdays. Someone above mentioned that were glad to see Chaos being refurbed, and this for me is 2x as awesome. Very cool to see someone taking that kind of care for an old Arrow Looper, but Adventuredome has a well earned reputation for taking fantastic care of their rides.
