The on ride photo is now where the loop used to be on the small airtime hill. Supposedly the reason the on ride photo used to be next to the lift is because thew wires wouldn't reach the station at most places, and so they had it right before the lift, cause people look up and see how high it is. I thought it was a really dumb play for an on ride photo. It should be on the bottom of the 214ft. drop.

Seriously, Just cause I like one coaster alot of people don't like I now have sex with it? Why are you so obsessed with Monorails? Do you want to have sex with a monorail? Yes. They're called "People who have never left the state of Ohio." I don't even live in Ohio... I have ridden coasters in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, and Texas. I can't help it that I just turned 16 and don't have my license yet, and my parents don't care for coasters so they only take me to a few places a year. As soon as I get out of college, My Ride List will be probably around 200+ and over the years will add up more. And I do know alot of people who do in fact love SOB, some of them have ridden over 300 Coasters too, and it's not like they're favorite rides are Texas Rattler, Texas Giant, Mean Streak, Physclone, and other coasters known to be bad. They just like Son of Beast. So what it doesn't have alot of airtime, That isn't the only thing a coaster should have. It's almost like Airtime is the new thing every coaster has to have, like in the 1980's it was most inversions. Soon there will be another thing coasters will try to compete in, laterals?

Why do you guys want it to be removed so bad? Alot of People actually do love Son of Beast. It's not like you have to ride it... So you shouldn't complain. What if I said I hated... Wicked Twister, and I want it to be removed cause I don't like it? Just because some people don't like a ride doesn't mean It should be removed, some people do like SOB and want it to be around for a long time, and don't even say "So something better can go in it's place." Do you really think they would waste Millions of dollars tearing down a ride that alot of people like and is one of the most popular rides at the park, just to spend more Millions of Dollars to build some other Coaster there? It's not going to happen... If you don't like Son of Beast, It's okay, but you shouldn't complain all the time about how you don't like it so It should be removed!

Thanks, and yeah it's cool. And TG is awesome, Still my favorite Suspended. I don't like Ships with Inversions, they're painful But I still ride the, and they look cool. Awesome, lucky! It is a nice park.

Do you call yourself a Coaster Enthusiast? Yeah I don't like some Coasters, but I can't think of any Coaster I would want to be removed. If your an Enthusiast, You love just about every Coaster, weather it's how it rides, how it sounds, or how it looks. And Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean It should be removed, it's not like you have to ride it. If you don't like it, don't ride it, shorter lines for the people like me who do like Riding SOB...

Why should it be in the rumor thread if it is infact closed?

I really think everyone who say Son of Beast is extremely painful suffers from an extremely bad condition. Yeah Son of Beast has 1 Rough spot, but other than that, it's a great coaster and one of my favorites. If you can't take that little of pain, I don't see how you are a coaster enthusiast. I personally like when Coasters have some rough spots, Don't get me wrong I love B&Ms. But sometimes B&Ms are too smooth and I feel like I'm just on my computer watching a POV. SOB is a great Coaster, The helices are super forceful and are twice as good as Beast's awesome Double Helix. If SOB Does Reopen, Give it one more chance, Sit in the very front seat and don't lean back. Any Coaster Can be rough if you have your back against the seat.

Have you ridden Son of Beast lately?

So I check my Twitter today and notice my friend posted this. "son of beast is closed for the year?.. what a shame. the front seat of the blue train is so smooth.. i was startin 2 appreciate that ride." Than 5 Minutes later I get a Text saying "So I go to KI today and was about to enter Top Gun when I notice Son of Beast had a sign infront of it's entrance saying it's closed for the Season" Now I start to believe this rumor, and I ask more people and they all say SOB really has a sign infront of it. So I call KI. I asked if Son of Beast is really closed she said yes, I asked if it will reopen this season and she said she hasn't heard anything yet, and it's probably a rumor. I really hope it's not true, Cause as some of you may know I love SOB, it's my second favorite Wooden Coaster at KI (Racer #1)

So Kemah Boardwalk, Valley Fair, Elitch Gardens, Belmont Park, and Cedar Point still have they're Chaos's. Kemah will keep they're Chaos probably til a Hurricane comes and wipes it away, Valley Fair I'm surprised it still has they're, I think it will be removed in the next few seasons. Elitch Gardens, I think that whole park will be gone in 10 or so Years. Belmont I think will keep they're Chaos. And Cedar Point will probably have it for 5 or so More Seasons I think.

Awesome, I'll try to go to KI the same day you do and we could ride Diamondback! Viking Fury never did inversions, but I believe it went 80º which is close! I don't remember it ever going THAT steep........ It used to get very close to vertical if you sat in the end seats, And I believe I read some where that it does go thats steep.

I've always wondered the same thing! And call me crazy, but I'm scared to go in the back of wave pools cause I have a phobia I'll get sucked into the machine and die, even though that wouldn't happen. I know at Schlitterbahn Galveston (Wasserfest) They have a lazy river that has waves, and sometimes I would be relaxing on my raft than I'd be sucked towards the metal bars and be pretty much stuck to the wall til' I would have enough strength the move.

5 Hours for Firehawk on it's opening day, mainly because it was down alot, I got there late so a bit line already formed, no one knows how to get the restraints on, and they were running one train! Second place is Top Thrill Dragster on July 4th. 2003, It was down alot! I waited 4 hours, and all I rode that day was Power Tower, Millennium Force, TTD, Corkscrew, Blue Streak, White Water Landing, and Cadillac Cars.

I went to KI again yesterday so that's my third visit this week! And I finally reached 50 Rides on Diamondback, but didn't reach 30 on Drop Zone... I had a great time as always, but I wish It wouldn't of rained as much as it did. I started my day with Drop Zone Stunt Tower, than rode Son of beast once than went to Top Gun. I rerode Top Gun twice, but I wish I would of rode it some more. I kind of like how the fence is in the way. Kind of a neat photo of Son of Beast. I believe this was in Nick U. I didn't ride Viking Fury this visit, cause it sucks now. But I love taking photos of it! This photo would be decent if it wasn't super cloudy. I feel bad for the kids who ride this. I was going to wait for the train to come but the people behind me almost pushed me down cause I wasn't moving up, I don't see what the big deal is, it doesn't make the line any slower. New. Racer at Sunset. Looking up. Red Race>Blue Racer I can't ride this. It's sign is hidden. Beast at night is just amazing. X-Base. More X-Base. Atmosphere of Coney Mall. Delirium. International Street at night is beautiful! The only people at Morning ERT. The sign got shifted. Kings Island, Where else? Cedar Point.... Yeah my photos weren't really that good this trip, but This was one of the best times I've ever had at KI especially Weds. When it rained! We'll I'll be back Sunday!

I left my house around 10am. and got to my home at about 11:30am. As soon as we got to the park we rode Diamondback 4 Times, it was running 3 Trains and the line was just a little out of the lift area. Than I think we rode Beast, it was a 5 Minute wait. Went to Red Racer and rode Twice, while on it we noticed Vortex had a station wait so We went to it and I always ride 7-1, but Everyone says 5-1 is best. You people are wrong, try 7-1 it's way better! Than I rode Adventure Express Twice in a row, I love that coaster! Than went to Drop Tower and rode twice, only waited 10 Minutes which is long compared to tomorrows lines! SOB had a station wait so we rode it once in the front seat, Asked some of my friends there to turn the MCBR off but they didn't. Than I bought a ticket to Xtreme Skyflier cause it was $5 all day, but ended up not riding it due to not enough time so we got our money back. I think We rode Top Gun real quick than went to meet up with Nick (Dar to Fly) and Adam (pkiboy.) We rode Crypt since I haven't ridden it since it became a Ferris Wheel. It sucked, so We went to Diamondback to find the queue blocked off for some reason So I rode the log flume. Than We decided to ride Son of Beast again, it was great as always! They wanted to do Drop Zone, but since Delirium had a rare short line I rode it real quick than went to Drop Zone and rode a few times. Adam and Nick left, so we went to Racer again. I think by this time it was a little after 9pm. so We got in line for Beast. It was going to be our last ride of the night but we got off at 9:55pm. so we were going to Ride Firehawk. But it was closed as always so we rode Flight of Fear. Than we walked to the movie theater down the street from KI, and said hi to Zach by the drop off zone. I woke up at about 8am. and took a shower, than went and ate some nasty food at the hotel. My mom didn't want to go outside since it was pouring rain so I pulled up the car. We got to KI at 9:25am. so we made it on time for ERT. Diamondback was testing but never opened cause it was pouring, Beast was closed too. So I filmed and just enjoyed the atmosphere at Kings Island. At 9:50am. Crypt randomly opened so we got a ride on It and exited during the national anthem. We went to Flight of Fear and expected a line but only like 2 People were in the station. So we rode 3 Times. Than Racer opened so we rode it a few time than went to Adventure Express to find an empty station so we stayed on a few rides in front seat than switched to back seat. Than the best part of my visit to Kings Island happened! Drop Zone had no line, and so We stayed on for 10 Rides! It was the best thing Ever! I was all by myself facing towards Vortex! It was super foggy so midway through the way up you couldn't see anything, than at the top you could only see the very top of Eiffel Tower. Once you dropped you couldn't see anything til you hit the brakes the park appeared. And that is what happened for the next 30 Minutes, nonstop Drop Zone! Than I rode Son of Beast really quick in front seat since no one was in the station, than Rode Drop Zone more! Invertigo had no line at all So, why not? After Invertigo I went back to Drop Zone again and rode a few times. We were going to Beast but Delirium ride Opts. Were on the intercom asking people to ride, so we got a quick ride on it and got seats with new restraints. Than We went to Beast. I thought it would be a quick ride since the line was just the station but they were running 1 Train so a train only came every 5 Minutes. We waited about 30 Minutes than met up with Brian and got Rivertown Pizza. After that we went and rode Diamondback twice in a row since it had a station wait! Than I wanted to ride Drop Tower some more so We rode once than rode Son of Beast once in the back than rode Top Gun in the back. Next we went and rode Adventure Express again than rode Blue Racer. Next we went to the top of Eiffel and noticed Diamondback closed so the line was empty. Than it all the sudden opened with 3 Trains and so we got in line and about 2 Minutes after we got in line we were going up it's lift hill. We rode 3 Times than My Mom said we're leaving early cause storms are coming so I rode Drop Tower 2 More times and I believe Son of Beast once than called it a day and fell asleep in the car. I Recently moved from Kansas City to Saint Clair County, Illinois which is really close to St. Louis Missouri. I live about 20 Minutes from Lake Aspen Missouri. That lake has many resorts, and tons of stuff to do including an amusement park. It's called Aspen Lakes Park & Resort. It got bought out by Cedar Fair about 17 Years ago. It's a pretty major Park and competes with Six Flags Saint Louis, and even though SFSTL has more coasters, Aspen Lakes has better coasters and more to do. I have only been to Aspen Lakes once and it was about 10 Years ago when I was 6. And since I'm a huge Coaster Enthusiast and live so close I'm going to buy my season pass once the park opens for the season in a few months! For now Here are some photos I got from the website. The oldest building at the park is Aspen Lakes Theater, it was actually a real theater for almost 50 Years before the park was even built! The newest coaster at the park is Copperhead, an Intense B&M Invert that resembles Silver Bullet at Knotts. New this season is Snake River Fall's, a massive Intamin Water ride similar to Holiday World's Pilgrims Plunge, only ours is about 20 Feet Shorter. Lake Aspen's Impressive Skyline!

The most I've done in 1 Day is on Diamondback, Rode it 20 Times in 1 Day, 17 Of which in a 2 Hour Period during ERT. It was amazing, half the time I never left the station. We would get back into the station, and get off but than we'd all try to find open seats and try to reride as much as possible. I went 8 Rides without leaving the station. On the ride we would look back the whole time, close our eyes, and do other neat stuff. And on 3 of those rides, the 'clamshell' was over 5 Inches from me, the airtime was incredible! But besides Diamondback, I've lapped Millennium Force 18 Times at Coaster Mania Last Year, and Son of Beast 14 Times back in August 2007.

Nice photos so far Jz. I really want to go to IB now. Galaxy isn't actually a Schwarzkopf, it's an S.D.C. Easy mistake though, for many years I thought Bavarian Beetle at KI was a Schwarzkopf! But anyways, Can't wait to see the rest of the photos!

Excellent PTR! I really want to go to IB! I live a little over an hour from there but have never gone! I should be going later this season though, and can not wait for Tig'rr, I love Schwarzkopfs!
