Backyard Rides
natatomic replied to Angry_Gumball's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was nine, I made a zip line from our loft to the first floor out of k'nex for my Beanie Babies (don't look at me like that - I was 9 and I'm a girl). Does that count? -
Great job! Really cleaned up the clutter. The only suggestion I would have is perhaps move the "Welcome to TPR" line above the links. That way it'd sort of imply, "Welcome to TPR, here's what you can here." Though, maybe it'd be redundant up there directly below the banner which already says "Roller Coasters and Fun." Still, it looks lost between the two sections. Either way, it looks awesome as always R&E!

1. What do you find most useful about the front page? It's like the central hub of the site. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? The "Official Updates" and the "Forum Updates, News, and Other Stuff" could really be merged. I don't think it's necessary to distinguish between the two. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? Nope, it's pretty easy to navigate. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I hardly scroll at all. Since I see the front page almost every day, I'm caught up on all the old updates. But because of that, with the "Special Features" section so far down and so rarely updated, I don't often notice it. It's a bit lost and out of the way. 5. How often do you look at the front page? Pretty much every day. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? I did just now for the first time! :} 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? Both of these have already been mentioned, but I'd like a place to log in and I think the overall look could use a face-lift. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? Nope, I think that's it!

The future of Animatronics?
natatomic replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I think I'm FAR more creeped out than impressed. Is the #1 rule of robotics to make their designs look as man-eating and world-dominating as possible or something? If so, good job with this one guys. -
If you owned your home park (s)...

It doesn't matter what park, I'd just add an Aquatrax. -

I heard it's crooked because they're really milking this 97 degrees thing. -

^Misery loves company. It wouldn't be fair for me to suffer alone, now would it? -
Lawmaker Wants to Make Anonymous Internet Posting Illegal
natatomic replied to riccoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Um...What if someone has a grudge against a site owner? He can just go post a million anonymous posts on the poor guy's site, and it's the LATTER guy who has to pay for it? That doesn't make sense at all. Mind you, I'm basing this off of your comment - I didn't read the actual article, so maybe I'm missing something... -

I gotta be honest here - the fact that the webcam isn't straight is driving me CRAZY. -
Therese. Not Theresa. Tur-REESE. Yeah, it's not my favorite of my three names. But they all work together well enough.

Even if the world were to end on some specific date in the near (or not so near) future you could die about a million other ways before then. Car accident, illness, a nasty frisbee accident just to name a few. Not trying to jinx you, but I'm just saying... My advice would be to plan and conserve as though you'll live forever, but take the risks you want to take in case you die tomorrow. Man, I should probably take my own advice sometime. I freak out about this stuff all the time. I'm going to start drawing up the blue-prints for my End of Days bunker tomorrow.

At one time, I had five piercings in each ear, but I'm pretty sure the top two holes have closed up since I haven't worn all five pairs in years.

^Hah, like he'd be able to fit. And there'd be a better than even chance that I'd spit in his face anyway. No, as long as I'm indulging in this stretch of a connection of celebrities to a roller coaster, I think it'd be cooler (and less political) for the writer of Fahrenheit 451 to be there. Haha...cooler. I made a pun. :} -

D'you mean the "angles?" Goll, I hope someone gets that. -
Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
natatomic replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Well, he did say that he was looking at it from a "non-enthusiast" point of view. Most of the GP couldn't tell you the difference between a vertical loop and an immelman, let alone describe a Norwegian loop or a snake dive, etc. etc. I think what he's saying is that the GP is basically going to see Storm Runner with it's vertical up and vertical down portion and a few "loop-de-loops" or "upside down parts" or whatever they like to call them, and then they'll see Fahrenheit with it's vertical up and down portion and a few more "loop-de-loops." I'm sure they won't complain about another awesome coaster, but I can see why a lot of people would find the two rides highly similar. -

^I think the National Weather Service must be a major sponsor. Or maybe Zeus? I hear he's pretty big up in the sky. -

Oh, I dunno. Some might find the slow climb to the top while completely perpendicular to the ground just as exciting. I think it just depends on what one finds more nerve-wracking/adrenaline-producing. I for one love the rush from launches, but I still get more nervous on basic lift hills than on a launch track. Heights get me more so than high speed, y'see. -

^I think there's going to be a rope that the riders pull themselves to get the train over. Since it's in Pennsylvania, they're trying to make it Amish-friendly - you know, no electricity and all. Plus, it fits in to the whole "Going Green" trend. -
It's in my signature, folks.

^Did you get an actual invitation for the first ride or just one of the puzzle pieces? I'd expect a hit-man. Good luck, sucker. -
Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
natatomic replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I thought his comment was kind of out of the blue since no one else had mentioned it in awhile. I'm not entirely sure who he was responding too... Anyway, part of Hershey's viral marketing campaign was to award the first official ride on Fahrenheit to 11 people (I dunno who will be in the 12th seat. The ashes of Milton Hershey? A bag full of Rolos and Kisses? Your mom?). So, that's what he was randomly talking about... -
Everybody love everybody.
