Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
natatomic replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That's the one thing I want that Hershey doesn't yet have: a mega/hyper coaster. Sure, that's the kind I'm partial to as it is, but that does seem to be one of the few kinds of (non-gimmicky) coasters that it doesn't have. Now, I don't know if Hershey really wants to have a 200+ footer jutting into the skyline, but I know it would make my heart skip a beat to see, AND it would make for quite a well-rounded collection of coasters. -

Oh, man. If they get rid of that ride, surely a piece of my soul will die with it. Dollywood was my home park for the first 19 years of my life, and Blazing Fury is definitely one of my favorite rides of all time. Lame, I know, but it's a sentimental thing, ya'll. -

^^Nah, it wasn't me. I think I got the Nantimi part first, but I thought it was "Nantimi/Intamin moves in" (that was before we got picture number 3 with the "L" in it, so I was just taking a guess at the missing letter). No, the credit here goes to Scaparri. *pats Scott on the back* -

Oh, I forgot! Remember how I posted one of the pictures again to point out what could be a SECOND letter? It looked like a dash, but it could just be an "I" turned sideways, which would be convenient, seeing as how that's the letter we're missing (I think). It's a stretch but it makes more sense than these fuzzy, doubtful "letters" we keep on finding in #6. Here's the picture again to show what I'm talking about. -

^Not officially, I don't think, but we're just assuming it's there in order to give us "Nantimi lives on." -

^^LOVE. IT. Btw, the HP site is back up and running. Like how I edit pretty much all of my posts? Yeah, it's a little hobby of mine. Being anal, that is. -

But it gets "cooler," remember? It's going to be a drop tower that drops INTO a wave pool. Oh, and "Nantimi lives on?" Yeah, that's sounds pretty good, folks. Man, I go to pilates for an hour and I miss out on solving it. -

Updated! At a request from Robb, here's a summation of what we've got so far: HersheyPark has e-mailed a handful of people new (and numbered) photos of Fahrenheit. Each of these photos have a letter hidden in them (although there has been some debate as to the existence of a letter in picture #6) and so far, these are the letters found: I M L V A _ T N E I O S N N (The dash represents the letter we can't find in picture #6, though perhaps the lack of a letter means there's a space) You can view these pictures with the letters circled on this page. Given that no English words end in "OSNN," (do correct me if I'm wrong) many of us believe that these letters are an anagram for something. A post a couple above me has many examples for possibilities, and I have also come up with a few suggestions: 1. "Minnesota" can be found in these letters, with a few left over, but that doesn't seem to make sense for a park that's in PENNSYLVANIA (am I right, or am I right?) Though Scott did suggest that perhaps it has something to do with the "cooler 2009 attraction" Hershey has hinted at, given that Minnesota is the State of 10,000 Lakes. 2. A more likely possibility that I've discovered is "Intamin (M)oves (I)n*." The letters in the parentheses are ones that I'm merely assumimg, since there are still two letters missing. *Intamin could also be Nantimi. Everyone remember that crazy thread? Good. (EDIT:And in the time it took me to post this, #3 has been posted and the letter is L. There goes theory #2.) 3. And just recently, it's been pointed out that "Tsunami" can be found among the letters. Again, this could be pointing towards the 2009 attraction HP is winking and nudging us about. And lastly, for those of you who think that we're all reading WAY too much into this, just remember that the ones who really got into it last time were handsomely rewarded. And for those of you who think that we must all have way too much time on our hands, well, yes. Yes, we do. -

Again, though, all the other letters up to this point have been white and obviously letters. It COULD be a "I," though - I'd LIKE for it to be an "I" - but I think it's more likely that it's just something off in the distance. EDIT: Yeah, I'm sure there are floating letters all around that coaster waiting to have their pictures taken. If it's not a puzzle, what are the letters for? -

^Right, that's the one that we're ALL having trouble with. It's either REALLY well hidden or there just isn't one there. -

A few pages back, I said that it could spell "Intamin (or Nantimi) moves in," if we assume that an I and an M are somewhere in the 3rd and 6th pictures. And I don't know if you're right or not, but it's the closest thing I can see to a letter in that picture so far, so sure, I'll go with that. -

^^Are you sure that's it? I think I found it somewhere else. I drew some arrows in case you couldn't see it. Man. How'd we all miss this one? -

I M _ V A _ T N E I O S N N (With my "Intamin (or Nantimi) moves in," anagram guess, I've got one of the missing letters confirmed, at least. Anyone see another I or M in picture #6?) Photo number 10: The back of the pews in the the First Fahrenheit Church of HersheyPark. You know, 'cause it looks like a sanctuary and all... -
Robb makes some pretty good points. I went to BGA around this time last year on a Monday (April 30), and the park was DEAD. We walked on to Sheikra and rode it about 6 times all in the front row. There was a bit of a wait for Montu, but only because it was closed for the first few hours of the day, and when it did open, it was only running one train. Either way, we had the entire park done by early afternoon. Having said that, given how dead it was on a Monday, it probably wouldn't be too terribly packed on a Saturday or Sunday, either, compared to the other parks you plan on visiting.

(I)NTAMIN (M)OVES (I)N Since we're still 3 letters short, this is a pretty blind guess (and it might not be an anagram at all for all we know), but it kinda makes sense? Yeah? Maybe? Also, do you guys think this is a dash or anything in 2/14? Or is it just the space in the track? It's kind of hard to tell. Dang, I have way too much time on my hands. Someone once told me that I have a tendency to over-analyze things. Come to think of it, they may have had a point. -

That is a good question, but I don't know of any words in the English language that end in "OSNN." At least, not off the top of my head. -

Man, I guess I gotta come out of Nantimi Puzzle Retirement now. EDIT: I got "Minnesota" out of those letters, with VM left over, but I have a feeling that's a bit off the mark. Or you can get Intamin (or Nantimi) out of 'em too, BUT only assuming an 'I' is one of the missing letters. -

I got some too: Yep, I'm definitely naming my first born Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit Nantimi HersheyPark. That's gonna be his/her name. -

Nowadays I don't care too much for simulators, but I definitely preferred Thunder Road to SMWA if I had to choose between the two. Given I was only 10 when TR premiered, so maybe my young, resilient body could take the rougher ride better then than it could today, but even though I don't remember much of the SMWA (we didn't go to Dollywood nearly as often then as we did when I was younger), I do remember being very disappointed with it when it first opened.

The cobra roll isn't complete in that picture - that's just one of the tractors/cranes/pieces of machinery that's putting the ride together. Whatever it's called.
