Join the select club! Ben's solo stuff's really cool too. I'm currently listening to Rachel Stevens's latest album Come And Get It (specifically the song I Say Never Again) and as much as I'm ashamed to say it, I'm quite enjoying it.

In my, admittedly limited, experience, Corkscrew at Alton Towers is by far the roughest I've ridden. Sometimes it's excruciating, sometimes not so bad, but when I rode it toward the end of the 2004 season they may as well have had ambulances lined up outside to treat the head injuries.

The "Sören´s Way To Disney" Thread
Louise replied to Hattuchili's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I hate to sound cheesy, but you need to follow your heart. (Wow, even cornier than I imagined. ) All of the above, particularly what Robb said, sounds like good advice to me, but at the end of the day you have to make your own decisions. I'm a huge believer in following your instincts, something will tell you whether you're doing the right thing or not, and you have to go with that, regardless of what the rest of us are telling you. And as Elissa said, don't worry about little things like coaster trips, etc, there'll be plenty of others. You know where I am if you want to talk more. -
^ Yeah, I hope it's shown in the UK too, I love Jason Lee. All the absolute crap on US TV seems to get brought over here, but not the things that I think I might actually enjoy...

Why such a good day? Or are you just drunk again?

^ If this mail-order bride thing actually happens, please post any news in the TPR romance threaed. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18723

^ Maybe you should come to England for lunch instead Sören! We can still go to Friday's but without the jetlag!

^ I third it! Wait, what am I thirding?!

^LMAO Steve. True though, and then when they die whoever inherits their estate will probably carry on the same complaints. Never actually thought about that before, I'm usually too distracted to notice when I'm there, but generally when you're walking through the shaded pathways, it is actually pretty quiet. Gonna leave this thread alone now, I'm only getting more and more annoyed with the hypocritical old party-poopers. It's hatemail time. (jk)

I've been kicked out of my house. I have several places where I can stay for a few weeks, but nowhere that's really convenient. With the amount of assignments I have to do, being somewhere where I don't have broadband net access, all my textbooks, etc etc, makes life VERY difficult. I've already spent fifteen or so hours in the library this week and I'm still here now, if I have to spend any more time here I'm gonna scream, but I'll be here all the time if I don't find somewhere decent to live, and fast. Problem is, I haven't worked since June (although I've finally been able to job hunt these last couple weeks, should have a few interviews coming up) and therefore don't have much money. Even without all this I was having to beg and borrow to pay for the TPR trip, but I'm sure as hell not cancelling that! I can always pay for it out of my savings and then pay the cash back in when I have it spare, but I really don't want to have to use that money to rent some crappy little bedsit, which is all I'd be able to afford. Plus for various reasons I hate to live alone, and finding a housemate is proving difficult as all my student friends are settled into their uni accomodation, and most of my other friends either still live with their parents or live with a partner. This is really sh*tty.

^ Sure, if you'll pay for my plane ticket!
-
^^Ok, now I have even less sympathy. I thought it was a little later than that to be honest because I thought the fireworks were quite late in the evening. Idiots.
-
^ What? Why?! This is really stupid. If the rides ran throughout the night then I guess I MIGHT sympathise a little more, but even during peak times doesn't the park shut around nine? (We always go at off-peak when it's cheaper and the kids are at school, and the opening times aren't on the website now the season's over.) If you live right by a railway station you can get REALLY loud noise just a few yards from your house, but do you write to the council trying to get them to make trains quieter? No, of course not. If it becomes a big enough problem that it's affecting your everyday life, YOU MOVE! When we visit on the TPR trip next year we should take an abusive banner to wave at them. (On a side note, why is Three's Company not shown in the UK?! I loved that show when I was younger.)

Post any injuries that landed you in a hospital!
Louise replied to Dainty Aqua's topic in Random, Random, Random
I've been fortunate enough to not have to go to the hospital because of an accident, although I was quite seriously ill when I was 17, and had to go to hospital after injuring my knee cycling over the summer. Mind you, I guess that could kinda be classed as an accident: I got off my bike and my knee just buckled, causing me to fall onto the grass and land on a garden gnome. APPARENTLY this was hilarious. Anyway, I then had to get the train back from Wales and cart myself off to my local hospital because I'm terrified of hospitals now and was too scared to go to the ER there. Turns out I'd ripped a tendon of my kneecap. It was a great summer this year. Just as an anecdote of human stupidity, my ex-boyfriend once got very angry with a friend of his and decided to punch a transit van, requiring seventeen stitches, losing most of the blood in his arm, and losing two knuckles. He now can barely even write with that hand and goes through excruciating pain in winter. He now may require surgery because some bits of bone fragment have come loose. Idiot. -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
Louise replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You finally have a valid, coaster-related reason to have a turtle in your avatar... And so you change it! This looks VERY cool, might actually have to head back to DLP for a weekend when this opens up. I visited back in September 2003 and out of the four days we spent there, I think we spent less than four hours at the Studios, and even that was pushing the boundaries of boredom. About time they had something else decent put in. -
^ I said NOBODY COMMENT!!! Yes, alright, I like the Bay City Rollers. I will not be ashamed. Much. And it's not my tartan scarf I'm worried about. It's the tartan trousers that I think might give me away.
-
^ Yeah, I'm kinda with Allie. You're pretty lucky, you can pull off either look. But I voted for keeping the hair, it won by a whisker (), because to be honest I like a bit of chin fuzz on a guy.
-
Bye Bye Baby - Bay City Rollers. Nobody comment.
-
^ LOL, what's with all the old thread resurrections?!
-
^ Hope you don't think I'm having a go at you, I'm not, I'm just making a very small request: spelling and grammar and all that stuff isn't a HUGE deal to me, although it does make posts that much easier to read. The main problem I have when reading your posts is that you don't use any periods at all, so it's all one long sentence. I personally find that very difficult to read sometimes, maybe if you just included periods it'd stop some of the complaints. Just MO.

Theme Park Review Announces Our 2006 UK Trip!
Louise replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Show them some of the photos of Robb goofing around... That should convince them he's a responsible enough adult to be your guardian for a week or so... -
^ Well you certainly know who to blame for the last one.
-
I agree, and may I add bearded ladies who are attracted to other women.
