Geauga Lake Gyro Sky Tower on Ebay
Imagineer100 replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It really is sad. I went to Geauga Lake back in 2004 right after Cedar Fair got it and even then you could just tell that CF was just letting the park go. Quite a few of the coasters were down and the rapids ride looked disgusting. If CF had just put a bit of money into it like they do every year at the rest of their parks it wouldn't have taken much to save Geauga Lake but they didn't seem to care. Damn Cedar Fair. CP seems like the only park in their chain they care about at all. -

Great Pics! The ones from SF were really interesting. I've never been there would be nice to go some time. -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
Imagineer100 replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hope it's a Screamin Swing but from the hints from Pete Owens on that forum it doesn't seem likely. For 2010 a Maverick style ride would be nice. -

http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/park-ride-construction/47171-dollywood-2009-a.html I don't know how many people have accounts to this site as I know I don't because for some reason it won't let me make one but they have a forum for what is happening at good ole Dollywood in the next couple years. Just for more feedback what do you guys think is coming to the Smoky's next year? -
The Official "TPR Europe Trip 2008" Thread!

That was actually a pretty creepy report. I have never seen a park so deserted in my life. Wow! -
Waterparks, anyone?
Imagineer100 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I personally love water parks. I've been to a few of them but my two favorites would have to be Dollywood's Splash Country Water County USA -
Rendezvous Island

Cute entrance. So far its looking really promising and after Dogwood Lake this should be amazing! -
I don't understand you not liking Apollo's Chariot! I love that ride! the open cars make it a lot of fun and the bunny hills at the end made my stomach spin. One of my favorites at Busch. I do know what you mean about Griffon though. I didn't hate it but it didn't wow me like I was expecting either. Great pics though.

Rollercoaster College Majors
Imagineer100 posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just wanted to know if anyone knew the college major (specialty?) that the designers who do rides like Mystery Mine or Maverick at Intamin and Gerstlauer have in order to prepare themselves for it. -

Son of Beast or Beast
Imagineer100 replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They're both unique but Beast is definitely the better of the two. SOB is a bit to rough for me while I love the Beast. I've never had a bad ride on the Beast and I've only ridden SOB once and wasn't impressed. Fast but painful. -
Great Park Operations
Imagineer100 replied to denning's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I absolutely love the staff at Dollywood. Every time I go they bend over backwards to immerse you in the experience and just make sure you have a great time. The man that is usually on the top of the Mountain Sidewinder is amazing. I wish there were more people like him in other parks. All throughout my time at Dollywood I get the feeling that people there truly love their job as well. -
If you owned your home park (s)...
Imagineer100 replied to Tanks4me05's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If I owned Cedar Point Sign a deal with Nickolodeon and remove Peanuts theaming to make room for "Nickolodeon Universe" style kids area Add sprinkler systems to the parks paths Paint the Millenium Force Remove Disaster Transport and put a B&M Flying in its place Retrack/Rebuild Cedar Creek Mine Ride with a similar but more thrilling design Make Soak City and Challenge Park included with admission Relocate Sandcastle Suites and other hotels in area (cabins) and expand the park further Remove parking lot, replace with parking garage and expand that way (think disney) -

Great Trip Report! I really miss Dollywood I've been 4 times and am returning this summer but it (and my home park CP) are the most awesome of parks. Dollywood is just so friendly and down-home. -
Nice Trip Report! I absolutely love BGE its such a nice park. My favorite ride would have to be Apollo's Chariot. Loved the Griffon signage by the way
