  1. ^There's one about two hours north in Point Pleasant.
  2. Eh, what? Raptor is the most intense invert in the country.
  3. Ehhh, it's not actually faster. The ride ran at a much higher capacity with dual station operations and 4 trains. But it's cheaper to run the ride with 3 trains and one station (less employees and less trains running at a time) and it also improves downtime because there are less trains launching every hour. Even with the delays related to Zumanjaro?
  4. Dude, use proper grammar on the forums. “Gunna” and “mabey” looks unprofessional and there are actually policies about it on TPR’s forums. Use an autocorrect program if you need to. Didn't realize y'all were grammar Nazis on here. Fixed that for you. Also, please read the rules: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137.
  5. This will be the first year for Winterfest at KD, and to my knowledge a ride list hasn't been announced yet.
  6. Nobody cares because nobody thinks its ever actually going to open. No matter how close they get to finished or whatever is announced. I'll believe it when I see it actually open with general public on rides. And then I give it a year before closing.
  7. Six Flags has a grand total of 0 Windseekers in their chain. A Starflyer is much more likely, if that kind of attraction is likely at all.
  8. Obviously there's the Carousel and the Cyclone. Everything else is a Zamperla attraction except for their Sling Shot ride, which is a Funtime semi-portable installation, and (I believe) their Coney Island Raceway go-kart track. So it's not unprecedented for Central Amusements to reach out beyond Zamperla's portfolio for a specialty attraction. From my readings on Coney Island... "In 2010 Antonio Zamperla S.p.A. was selected by CAI (Central Amusement International) to restore and renovate the Coney Island area, the company managed the amusement park in New York installing only Zamperla rides, representing a perfect test bed for new attractions before to launch them." Unlike companies such as Intamin, Vekoma, or Bolliger & Mabillard that concentrate on larger and faster roller coasters, Zamperla focuses on more family-friendly roller coasters that can be easily mass-produced, taken down, and transported to different locations. They are also a major manufacturer of flat rides. That being said, while Zamperla deserves praise for a 'job well-done,' I, myself, would have been happier to see some of the other companies mentioned above being invited to produce a greater, more exciting diversity of coasters! Greedy Alice Please tell me what is "family-friendly" about the death-machine Volares?
  9. If I walked up to the park and saw that I'd turn right around and go to Wildwood, Dorney, hell even Seaside or Point Pleasant.
  10. I don't know what the work culture is currently anymore but I worked at the park about 10 years ago, and when I tried to do ANYTHING to make the park a bit more pleasant for the guests (sweep under parts of the station that were visibly dirty, scrape gum off things, take care of an overflowed trash can, etc.) I was repeatedly told "that's not your job, we don't do those types of things, don't spend time doing that." It was infuriating especially the fact that most of these things take less than 5 minutes, and they make a HUGE impact on a guests experience. I'd see employees and even "management" walk past trash without even a second thought. Meanwhile at Great Adventure, even security has to walk around with trash-pickers. Must be an entitled Californian thing.
  11. *sigh* Parks always say that their announcement is the "biggest ever." How gullible do you have to be to fall for marketing speak?
  12. I dunno, I find Rougarou and the other one to be quite colorful.
  13. They could go for a world record for having the most "Worst Coasters"?
  14. Since you can't walk on the causeway you have to take the "back road" to the park, which is way out of the way. Google Maps calls that an 11 mile, nearly 4 hour walk. More power to you. I'd blow my brains out.
  15. They got a new food stand last year. Give it a break. CF dumps exactly as much money into Dorney as they need to; no more, no less.
  16. Back in my days working there (98-03), there was an open-air tram that would circulate people from the main park, through the parking lot, and to the Safari (back when it was separate admission) and Water Park. With how the Preferred Parking area is walled off now I can't see how it would continue to operate.
  17. I'd say "soon to be Paqrues Reniudos/Herschend/Merlin/SeaWorld" before Cedar Fair, unless CF's intent would be to strip the rides and ship them elsewhere (like Geuga Lake).
  18. I think it starts at $75 for most days, so yeah quite a bit more expensive than the $30 bring a friend tickets for Platinum Pass holders. Edit - I was thinking of Kings Dominion. FL+ at KI starts at $70 and bring-a-friends start at $16.
