  1. So I stopped by the "Farewell Flitzer" event today. They had a band, were giving out free bottled water/pretzels/snacks, and of course the ride...which had a line that was (by my estimation) an hour and a half long. Sorry, but no thanks. Anyway, here are some pictures.
  2. What other flyers has CF removed? That's right, none. Don't make more out of this than it is.
  3. 1. There is no harm to me. There could be harm to the credibility of the project, when city council is getting all these calls/emails/letters from people who are not their constituents and have no stake or say in anything that happens in their city. 2. No one was "bashing" the project as a whole. There was skepticism, from me and others, and some legitimate criticism of the website, but no "bashing." In fact there even was some positive response on page one. The fact is that, as you presented this project, it's nothing more than someone's pipe dream. No statement of investors, no real plan other than "rebuild the coaster." The key phrase there is as presented. There may be more to it than you've led on, but with what was shown, you can't blame people for being skeptical of something like that. And again, I have to stress how little a city council is going to care about input from those outside their jurisdiction. They don't serve us, they serve the voters in that city.
  4. You're the one who posted asking people who are largely not residents of the jurisdiction in question to contact some city council and support this project, and then now you ask for those who have no stake to keep out of it. Which is it? You post something on the internet, you open it up to all kinds of commentary - positive, negative, off-topic, in-between. Sorry you didn't get what you were looking for.
  5. It is not banned. "Banned" means it is specifically prohibited. It is not. No one wanting to take the chance operating one does not make it banned.
  6. As was posted a few pages back, Vortex's ridership vastly outperforms Firehawk's. Firehawk always has a line because of its horrid capacity, nothing more.
  7. It's not that we're all "cynical haters" (though I'd probably not disagree with the cynical part), it just that we've seen these kinds of massive expense projects come and go. They're either way over budget, reliant on government assistance (tax breaks, etc.), massively delayed, only open an extremely small portion of the original plan, and/or never open at all. Or, some combination of the above. See the Orlando Skyplex, American Dream, Atlantic City anything, that wonky Noah's Ark-themed park, etc.
  8. While you're at it, you should fund the American Dream project in NJ...just about as much chance of actually happening, no offense.
  9. It's separate admission because they make more money that way, and with it way out there there's no obstacle to it. They used to run a tram to the waterpark (and Safari tour bus back before the days of Off-Road Adventure). With all of the barricades they put up for the Preferred/Diamond whatever parking lot, there's no way for the tram to get to the main gate, so they stopped it. That, and they disbanded the parking lot department...Fun fact: I used to drive and spiel on the that very tram in my youth.
  10. Someone mentioned not staffing kids rides and having those employees work food stands or clean bathrooms. It doesn't work that way. Employees are trained in one area (for examples, rides, games, foods, grounds, etc.) for the most part, and that's it. You can't even take a random employee from one kiddie ride and put them to work on a coaster; each ride has its own training and certification process. Even for things like foods or grounds, that may not require much training, if I'm a 16 year old kid working rides and they tell me I have to go clean bathrooms or slave over a fryer, especially this close to the end of the season, I'm telling them to pound sand and walking out.
  11. ^There's one about two hours north in Point Pleasant.
  12. Eh, what? Raptor is the most intense invert in the country.
  13. Ehhh, it's not actually faster. The ride ran at a much higher capacity with dual station operations and 4 trains. But it's cheaper to run the ride with 3 trains and one station (less employees and less trains running at a time) and it also improves downtime because there are less trains launching every hour. Even with the delays related to Zumanjaro?
  14. Dude, use proper grammar on the forums. “Gunna” and “mabey” looks unprofessional and there are actually policies about it on TPR’s forums. Use an autocorrect program if you need to. Didn't realize y'all were grammar Nazis on here. Fixed that for you. Also, please read the rules: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137.
  15. This will be the first year for Winterfest at KD, and to my knowledge a ride list hasn't been announced yet.
  16. Nobody cares because nobody thinks its ever actually going to open. No matter how close they get to finished or whatever is announced. I'll believe it when I see it actually open with general public on rides. And then I give it a year before closing.
  17. Six Flags has a grand total of 0 Windseekers in their chain. A Starflyer is much more likely, if that kind of attraction is likely at all.
