  1. IF they decided to change Mantis' trains, I think the cheaper option would be to just go as a sit-down, since I'm pretty sure they would have to redesign the station floor and track in the station since it would need to be wider for all the moving parts. Does that sound feasible?
  2. When the Tip Top first came onto the scene, many parks called it the "Bubble Bounce". Not only does Hurbritz build the Tip Top, they also built the Paratrooper, the Hurricane and the Round Up and Super Round Up (which you saw at Strickers) Attached is another Tip Top which is operated by Bates.
  3. Pretty sure that's Wisdom. www.facebook.com/269465105192/photos/a.10150159893895193.400101.269465105192/10153961799555193/?type=3&theater
  4. The numbers are a bit off but WHAT IF* the new ride winds up being Batwing from Six Flags America making a trip down South? * For entertainment only.
  5. Yes, I spoke with Guest Relations and they do hope to bring Shake, Rattle and Roll back if possible. I know Kings Dominion built a brand new one around 2004 or so, so I'm not sure if HUSS still will build them a new one if this one cannot be repaired since it's no longer offered in their catalog.
  6. When Kings Island crashed a Top Gun train into a parked maintenance truck in July of 2002, they had to replace 3 or 4 cars as well as check the rest of the train for damage. The ride was down to one train for the season. (the train reappeared opening day of 2003). So, they "probably" will get a couple of new cars by next season, depending who can make them.
  7. If this new "attraction" goes upside-down, I think that will make it the first inverting ride at the park in its entire history. Let me know if that's wrong.
  8. We are planning a trip out there, to Gettysburg from Ohio, and we were thinking of hitting Hersheypark either on Sunday before labor Day (Aug 31) or the following week Saturday Sept 6th. Either week would have Kennywood the following day. Do you locals, based on History of crowds, have a suggestion? Going in August means we could get a day at Knoebles on Friday Aug 29, though, but that's not a deal-breaker.
  9. Maybe it could be a Starflyer. I dunno.
  10. Great Coverage, Rob! Thank you for sharing and all you do for us!
  11. Fantastic! I am so excited for Dan and Pat and all the work they are doing! Quite an Adventure.... and Alabama-sized Adventure!
  12. The Africa area is extremely popular right now as it has just opened. Get there at 9am if you go. Plan to pay $8 to park. A couple facts about your first post: • The Stingrays were built 3 years ago, so its a new attraction, just not brand new • Six Flags didn't really own Wyandot Lake's land. They managed the park, but the Park leased the land from the zoo. The Zoo merely bought back the lease, or something to that affect.
  13. I would be willing to bet that the new attraction has a 44-48" min. height requirement.
  14. Yep, new insurance regulations are requiring each rider to have his/her own individual seatbelt. Seat Dividers are next.
  15. From their Facebook page: The Beech Bend Park family mourns the loss of Clay Jones, the owner's son. Clay was 42, married, and had a 2 yr old daughter. Clay spent alot of time at the dragstrip, and touched many lives. Funeral info will be posted later today. Please do not contact our family directly out of respect during this difficult time. Reed Gonzalez, Director of Operations Nephew of Clay Jones
  16. They made a comment on their Facebook page that it's being refurbished for 2015. Unless that was a mistake.
  17. "Birds Alive" (get it, like Dinosaurs Alive... snicker!) But seriously, they said they had to move a road. Maybe it is something larger.
  18. Trains are supposed to come in this week according to Mark Brunner (who posts about the park regularly to the public)
  19. I mentioned this earlier, but I still have this hunch that Voyage will become steel (or like Outlaw run) with an inversion or two and some sort of newer steel coaster will be built in the distant future with a launch like Sky Rocket and a 48" height restriction ... Intamin can still do that. Of course, the park will still have a great relationship with Gravity group because they will maintain Legend and Raven, and who knows, perhaps they have their own "Rocky Mountain" design up their sleeves as well. Gotta love the free marketplace. Just a thought, don't take my words as Gospel.
  20. When The Bat ($3 Million) closed due to the problems at kings Island, they got Vortex for $7 Million, but were credited about $3 million of that, so that helped the relationship with Arrow (so $4 Million for Vortex). Let's see if this is a similar-type deal and they get something from Intamin at a fraction of the cost in the near future. Not sure if that will happen, but history has repeated before.
  21. Looks like Delirium is getting repainted, too. Similar to maXair colors.
  22. ^ no, they still have to finish the transfer and the stairs and various things like the lift chain. I think it will be testing probably after Easter or before May.
  23. A friend of mine went, but attendees were asked to not take pictures inside the park. Flyer's are up and put together, but not tested yet.
  24. On the contrary, with Banshee going in, the lines for all of the action zone rides will be bigger than average. Lines for Diamondback and Beast will still be long, but shorter at times when they would normally be long as the public will focus on getting to Banshee in the morning and for night rides.
