  1. NOOO!! you cant miss dragster. Its so worth waiting in line for.
  2. We ended up not getting a ride on maverick at night. The first night we where there we were getting as many one time rides in as we could just in case the weather took a bad turn. We rode maverick once that day. That was the night they had extended ride time on dragster. But the next night we were there, we got in line for a night ride on maverick and it broke down, so they ended up leaving MF's and Dragsters lines open later for people to jump in. That is why i ended up getting 2 nighttime rides on dragster. We were there the next day, but left before it got dark. So we never got our night time ride. But we still had a great time.
  3. You must hit Nitro and El Toro, they are both godly coasters.
  4. I loved staying at the park , we stayed at hotel breakers, and it was great. I loved getting in early. Plus you can hang out at the beach till midnight. There is just something about being able to see the coasters outside your window before you go to bed. I like panda express and game day grille also, but stay away from Coasters, there food mostly sucks. We managed to get 2 MF rides in the early entry with out standing too long in line , and 3 maverick rides the next morning early entry, without a huge wait. So we did pretty good. And we were lucky enough to be there on a day they were having extended ride time on Dragster, we would have gotten more than 1 ride if it wouldnt have broken down. There is something great about riding dragster at night. Both the rides we got on dragster where at night.
  5. I grew up at Knoebels and Williams Grove. Recently i have been to Dorney alot.
  6. Thunderhawk at Dorney Park. I cracked 2 ribs on it in the back seat. Painful.
  7. Great trip report, i love that park. Ahhh dragster, i miss you. The bugs are mayflies, and i believe the white stuff, was the pollen/seeds from the cotton wood . I saw it too, its everywhere.
  8. knoebels is my hometown park and is alot of fun. I wouldnt get the handstamp if there not running both trains on the phoenix, the lines can get long, and sometimes its cheaper to buy tickets than the handstamp. If you do decide to get tickets , get the larger books, you get more for your money, there discounted. If your staying in danville, its really easy to get to knoebels, just get on route 54 east , takes you directly to elysburg, then turn left at the red light (Rt. 487) . There are knoebels signs along the way. I would try out the international food court, they have alot of different foods there, like gator bites. But yes cesari's pizza is the best. Also get the french fry's near the alamo /Oasis restaurants. Or the fancy fries at the Wharf. Here is a link to there food list > www.knoebels.com/food.asp And yes the flyers and the scooters are a must! Just a fun warning, the scooters can get intense, its not a pansy bumper cars like most parks have. People can really slam you. I road 5 times in a row once, and i was hurting afterwards. Have fun.
  9. Kennywood is a fun place, and its in one of my favorite city's, pittsburgh. But you should have road exterminator, to me it would be worth the stand in line. I love that coaster.
  10. Nice pics. We where there the 17,18,19 , i miss it already.
  11. Headline news just had a witness on that said the ride picked him up and he flew against one of the support beams, she said they heard a pop and that was it. He just laid there. They still didnt have an update as to why he actually did it.
  12. Me and my boyfriend where there on the 17,18,19 also. When maverick went down, i figured that would be it for the night, even though they left dragster and MF open till 10:30. I figured the lines would be terrible, but i still went by the line for dragster. I couldnt believe it was short, they where popping those trains out so fast , and it made me really happy to get another ride on dragster, especially since we lost out on rides the night before when dragster went down for the platinum pass extended hour of ride. Dragster is my favorite coaster there.
  13. Me and my boyfriend was there the 17,18,19 and wildcat wasnt running then. I wish it would have been up and running by then but it wasnt. I am glad it is now. They were working on it on the 19th, but it looked like they were putting on a new chain, so we knew it wouldnt be open before we left. There seems to be quite a few people writing trip reports for the same days we were there. Nice to read them.
  14. We went last year, and it was not bad during the day, but got cold after sunset. But i thought the crowds werent that sparce. I do know when it gets cold they hurry you through stormrunner, they say its to keep the track and cars warmed up, because when we where there in the spring for there easter event, it was just barely making it over the top, and they where telling everyone to be ready to ride, and basically dont dick around.
  15. Actually the haunted house is at the elysburg gun club less than a mile away. The antique cars are haunted and the phoenix runs in the dark, no lights. Its great, i love riding the phoenix in complete darkness.
  16. HUH!!?? I dont think i saw one person on that coaster chunky or skinny that wasnt stapled to the seat via the seat belt and lap bar that they push as far down as they can push it , even if your legs are in the way. Dont get me wrong, i love el toro, its my favorite woodie, and the ride ops where great, but its no way comfortable. Thank god the ride is so much fun , that it takes your mind off the pain some.
  17. My vote is for a Nitro or Steel Force style coaster. I would prefer a Nitro mega coaster, because i am alot closer to steel force than nitro at six flags. <<< I am also for an 11 inversion wacky worm.
  18. Wow, we have been there many times and have never heard it before. Maybe it dont do it all the time.
  19. Yes we had a good time even though the lines where terrible. But Lightning racer was even more awesome than i remember. And i love Great Bear, it ranks with Talon as the best inverted coasters for me.
  20. My favorite park is dorney park. Best ride : STEEL FORCE worst ride : the zephr train ( can we say boring ? )
  21. Thats gross. I will make sure i keep my mouth closed when i ride at night.
  22. I was looking around for a hotel for next year when we go, and hotel breakers has rooms in the $111 range, its a couple minute walk to the park, and you get in an hour early. Plus you can use the pools and beach before you check in and after you check out. I will be staying there. Most of my time will be in the park or the beach and marina. So dont care if the view sucks or not from my hotel room.
  23. Flash pass people do have a special line, but it goes strate through to the coaster while the people who didnt buy one stand there and wait. So yes they do cut in line basically.
  24. That is a very stupid list. There some good ones on it, but some really bad ones too. What is it with GASM ? That is a horrible piece of crap, they should be mentioning El Toro. And sooperdooperlooper ? I am sorry, i agree with having hershey there, but there are alot better coasters there than that one. What a joke.
